Genshin Impact’s limited-time flagship event for Version 4.8, Summertide Scales and Tales, introduced the Fairy Tale World of Simulanka, a world created by the combined efforts of the Hexenzirkel Witches: Alice, Barbeloth, and Anya.
Although the story and lore surrounding Simulanka are light-hearted and easy-going on the surface, this pocket dimension bears the answers to some of Teyvat’s biggest unsolved mysteries!
Beyond the aforementioned, Simulanka also helped expand considerably on the characters of Durin and Scaramouche, providing us with a new perspective on how to view them moving forward into the future.
In addition to being a Lore Theory, this video primarily serves as a recap, analysis, and explanation of all the above.
Thanks for watching 😊!

Why are you singing, I try to listen cause i think you add some good analysis sometimes to the lore and how it might develop in a near future (next patches) but sometimes instead of narrating you star like, singing… Not complaining but just to let you know. I don't know, take it as you want.
I notice most of fontaine patch events traveler is a witness
About Childe, I also want to say that for some weird reason, he is unable to come to IT (a place CREATED by the Hexenzirkle) after ACT II of the Archon Ques of Fontaine
And while it may be because of tourism trouble, I also want to say he is allowed to go play card game. So I don't think it's linked to the fact he went to Meropide, but instead to his Vision losing it.
Also, it is mentionned in the game that Ajax (or Aias, same name but in Greek) is a play, and while it's often overlooked, "Ajax" is also a play IRL that follow his death. I should also mention that Ajax is deluded by Athena, and did not just became insane by himself.
So basically, Childe is fucked
6:01 I howl literally
What about Jean and kaeya who entered simulanka, how did they end up in simulanka , did they open the book to tell story to klee, no wait, she's with albedo, so how did those two ended up there ?? Any ideas ???
I stand by what I previously said. If the whole game is just a dream I will flip multiple tables.
You are that Zandiiiq guy right
17:40 I just noticed something. I think that the purpose of the titles in Simulanka is actually the total opposite. Giving them titles instead of names would render them free of the "Fate" of Simulanka, therefore being the only people who actually can fix things since everyone is stuck on their "tracks".
Oddly enough, this parallels Teyvat. IIRC the only two characters whose data is not in Irminsul are Scara and the Traveler, who coincidentally don't actually have an actual name in Teyvat
This could mean that in order to defy fate you must, or at least try to, erase the influence your name has on your fate. Oddly enough too, the Harbingers are known by their titles and not their names. While other characters are known by their names, the Harbingers aren't. Even Ajax is known more as Childe or Tartaglia than his actual name.
Now, we take that information and add to it the information about Scaracat's story to preserve the information of the past timeline. Keep them in mind for a minute.
I haven't played the game but, AFAIK the Otto guy from HI3 does all this nasty stuff in the story, usually in attempts to revive Kallen. And then there is some parallel universe shenanigans.
And one very particular difference I noticed between Genshin and the Honkai Games is that the characters don't die. (Flashbacks to Tingyun, Misha and Gallagher)
So perhaps, Teyvat "The Ark", is similar to the Scaracat story. A world where data/memories is encoded (Irminsul, Ley Lines, everything is memory). Data about the people/characters in order to safely protect them until it can be used.
And perhaps "Fate" is not a program but a protocol.
The protocol is meant to keep the beings within the ark safe and also to keep them in check. Because the beings in the world have personalities and free will, if they deviate from Fate, they stop being useful data and just become their own people. But if you just make the program strict, they stop being people at all.
So, to fix the issue, the important characters are given Visions by the "Gods". Remember, all Vision holders are very unique, often extravagant, characters, and they receive the vision when following their "ambition". Or in other words, it facilitates the expression of their personality. It would make sense why things like dancing, fireworks and being an empty headed oni would earn a vision. And since their "ambitions" are sated, they have no reason to deviate from Fate, being content with their capabilities to express themselves easier.
And, there's a big chance that this is an ACTUAL parallel universe, where each character is meant to be their own person and be similar but kind of different like Acheron said. But they are being forced to be something that they aren't in order to preserve data from a universe that isn't theirs. By someone with vested interest on keeping that info alive.
Which would tie into the Gnostic concept of the Demiurge and the world being imprisoned.
I think I went a bit too far.
starts watching I'm sure it's fine, I just have to finish a couple of quests and the epilogue of the main one, I'm sure I've seen enough.
MNFN: …When we meet Mona at Constellation Metropole.

Me: Wait what? Dammit! pauses and goes to play the rest
I wonder how many people are gonna change their name for Wanderer after watching this
Interesting you are eluding to that the endgame is that we bring back Earth. I have a question were does the traveller come in? Why are they in Theyvat at all is the homeland Earth? Because the game now takes way to many references from real history for it to not be a connection at this point it just becomes silly if there isn't. Norse mythology, Greek mythology, every nation resembles something in real life. M says that she took her name based on her middle name now the most likely candidate is Minci the same name that Lisa has.
31:44 We're always welcome to visit her at home as well.

Great video for sure as usual with very neat observations in there but man, mentioning Ajax the IRL figure for Childe's name/destiny parallels but skipping over the Narzissenkreuz Ordo note with Genshin's homegrown Ajax/Aias stuff is a choice I'm sorry 😭 That note is like THE most rent-free and insane shit when it comes to the implications of his name for Genshin's endgame and dude just forgor 💀😭 like it's fine and cool and all, yeah, and the video isn't really about him but still lmao
(Like, especially with how directly the note invokes the concept of Descenders and of the "primordial human", too… and Simulanka's explicit confirmation of the significance of names just adds so so much more weight to it like shit's getting real)
This, sort of makes me think about Rene's investigation. If Simulanka is like the alternative/mirror of Teyvat and Anya wanted Teyvat's Durin to have a better ending in Simulanka,
To me, that sounds like Khvarena vs Abyss ("We can reasonably infer that the power of Khvarena might be the same as the power of ██… the result of being projected onto this world.")
… And since Khaenri'ah was an underground nation, 🤔
"scarameow" is now my new favourite word for the month
You sound very oui oui in the first 5 mins
considering we got to name Scaramouche, but most existing character names are blocked… except Aether! To which he says, "This is your name." Combined with sharing names means sharing Fates… That has interesting possibilities.
The only characters who didn’t show up in this years summer event that were in previous ones were;
Kazuha
Eula
Kaeya
Diluc
Jean
Barbara
Razor
Xinyan
Kokomi
This has nothing to do with the conversation. Thought I’d just drop that here. In my personal opinion, all these characters could have had very good reasons to have been reading the book too if they showed up.
scattermeow -))
Its funny how Genshin pokes fun at itself in the Side-quest with Kaveh, where he says something like: "The names are off, They clearly reflec real people but theres always a few letters different" – Which is something that happens often in Genshin. Just look at Alhaithams name which is a reference to Al-Haytham.
Its really funny.
I think this event could be the closest thing we'll get to a confirmation on Nilou and Nabumalikata
I don’t know that Teyvat is necessarily a dream, but I do think that Phanes reason for terraforming Teyvat and making it a safe haven for humans is tied to the fate of HI3 the thirds Earth. We know in HI3, all historical figures from real life are there, because they are usually Stigma’s. Could explain the female Hans Christian Andersen counter part, as people like Einstein, Tesla, and Shakespeare are all female in HI3. We also know that Earth was stuck in a 50k years samsara cycle for at least 3 cycles. The previous era to the one that Kiana, Bronya, and Mei lived in, was the one with the Moths and FlameChasers, and they found ruins on the moon from the previous era before them, who lost their battle to the Herscher of Finality. Makes me wonder if one of the era’s 100k years or longer before the events of HI3’s plan to circumvent the Honkai was to create an Ark, similar to the one Griseo used and go find a new home for the humans. Teyvat could be a reflection of HI3 from a civilization older than the previous era cycle that the MOTHs lived in. Maybe the reason that Phanes made Teyvat’s fate predetermined was to keep the humans of that world from garnering the attention of the Honkai. Obviously whoever created Irmisil had extensive knowledge of The Imaginary tree, as Irmisil is like a mini version of it, much like if Genshin is an Opera, Similanka is a music box. It could also explain why characters in Genshin look like counter parts to HI3 characters as well, and their cultures reflect HI3 Earth culture if they were made from the DNA of pre-100k humans from HI3. Anyhow that’s the only reason that I can think that Phanes created a fate locked prison planet for the residents of Teyvat, to keep them from garnering the attention of the Imaginary Tree which would trigger Honkai eruptions. It could also explain why some knowledge is forbidden and why past technological advanced civilizations of Teyvat that mess with forbidden knowledge get nuked by the heavenly principles. Just my thoughts on how Genshin could fit into the larger Hoyoverse. I’m probably wrong but as someone who loves HI3 and it’s Lore, it’s fun to think of how they might be connected.
People who named scara a$$ Blaster 69 😰
Also there's a very good hint in the event that proves one of your theories
Remember how the visions uses the ley lines to get an element ? Well then the fact that nilou said about the visions being unemployed while simulanka had no ley lines can be viewed in a whole different way
Scaramouche and Albedo, a collab between Child of God and Sinner . we will look forward for a major patch event featuring them two.
but they're might not be enough to deal with the Outbreak during Durin's Revival. Traveler might enlist Neuvillette's elp if he would agree to give some hand. A Dragonic Man, esp. He is HIM SOVEREIGN DRAGON
Are you finnish
What if the "M" from Andersdotter stands for Minci? Making her Lisa's relative.
In Simulanka the Gods don't speak to their creation in a long time. In Teyvat it is said that the Gods of Celestia are inactive. Simulanka Durin made the stars fall down because he missed his mother, does that mean that real Durin made something like stars fall to the world and that is why he was considered a threat? Maybe a Celestial Nail??? And the Traveller not being the Hero in Simulanka but the one that watches and helps the story unfold seems kinda like the spectator of the world or the witness. Does that mean that for the "fairy tale" of the real Teyvat to unfold it needs a "spectator" to be present?
You’re my favorite lore youtuber alongside Ashikai <3
“The M must parallel Christian”
Me: Anya Muslim Andersdotter
You missed one big thing regarding Hans Christian Andersen: His mom's name was Anne Marie Anderdatter. Yeah, literally.
so in this case… Durin would be Hans.
btw we also have another char named Hans in Mondstadt: Hans Archibald "Stanley"
I'll let your imagination roam free here. For imagination is the single most important ingredient in the act of creation.
29:40 I just wanted to say (even though y'all probably know) that in Feline Fortress Furrdyssey there is a line spoken by Fischl that goes like this:
Fischl: Perhaps somewhere in this world there exists a cat familiar that can… dive deep into the depths, endure in an inferno, and ride upon the wind! Such a special entity would surely have no fear of thunder or lightning.
Which is quite a funny reference to Wanderer 😆
Also Fischl being present in the scene when they hint at future story with Durin, also remembering the description of her skin (Ein Immernachtstraum), is really fascinating…
Great video, can't wait for the next one ^^
Durin is Jesus :0
Kallen was not a Kiana expy. She was a forefather of Kianas.

Zandik having his name be that before his exile from the Akademiya seems to also be this. Though if one is a heretic to a false doctrine, would one not be virtuous in doing so? Jesus and many other mystics, sages, etc. were also deemed heretics and persecuted accordingly.
And the fact that Teyvat is a simulation (something that Zandik/Dottore has revealed to us since Sumeru AQ, which may explain why he's sometimes fast and loose with paying the cost for his knowledge, but not just knowledge for knowledge's sake — but rather, that which is sufficient to break free from the illusion — in his mind, perhaps as unsavoury as some of his tasks/assignments have been (he was frustrated at having to kill Niwa, for example, and even hesitates looking troubled for a moment before going off business as usual, and he DID try to minimise the suffering of his patients in Dar Al-Shifa, and stopped his Eleazar research in Apam Woods due to test subjects reacting badly to the experiments, so he isn't as unethical as more simple-minded people in the fandom make him seem, not least due to Webttore's shadow; which IMO is best left retconned because it is very clear he and Zandik are not the same, not in mannerisms, personality, or even approach to the Fatui [Webttore couldn't care less for anything the Fatui do and resents having to do anything at all for them, Zandik takes his duties very seriously and is a loyal follower of the Tsarista, on the other hand.])
We have seen different Segments have different personalities as well, though, so Webttore likely was just that. Perhaps even just a prototype given his drastic design difference, and even having a different mask altogether from the other Dottores/Zandik.)
Long story short, I do think we've known Teyvat is a simulation for a long time; something Nahida herself now knows but she didn't before (likely because she did not inherit Rhukkadevata's memories, despite being made from her, similarly to how Acheron and the Raiden Mei of HI3 don't share the same history, perhaps, though in that case it is parallel universes and not one being made from the other, though even there, Dottore's Segments aren't a perfect hive mind, so would it be just to hold Zandik accountable for what they do? It'd be like holding Ruan Mei responsible for the stuff her creations do, when she lets them be entirely independent, or even Ei for everything Scaramouche chose to do himself, since she did create him, but ultimately I believe he is responsible for his choices as much as anyone else, even if his slop AQ interlude tries to absolve him lmao.)
But yeah, I think it has been obvious not all is well in Teyvat, and that it is working on the theory that the world is a matrix/computer program, or in the old occult ideology thereof, that the world we inhabited was a false one that needed to be broken through [the sky being the firmament], to get to the real world. You see this with Plato's allegory of the cave as well, except Genshin poses the question of what would and wouldn't be permissible to do in order to liberate people from the cave, I suppose, and although we begin friendly with them, the Archons aren't entirely good, we are beginning to see the Fatui's point and tbh they stand as the most rational faction thus far; which may be why the Archons or their envoys have agreed to surrender their Gnoses to them, and yes that includes Venti, he was not fighting Signora and he has a strained relationship with Celestia, but he had to trick the traveller into believing the struggle was real. We know he withholds information from us, like Rosalyne's true identity.)
ohhhh i never thought of seeing scramouche as another raiden variant, it's a very interesting way to interpret this character
One thing that makes me overthink is how nilou has power to make "padisarah" alive. At first I don't overthink it since they're in storybook, but the afterstory dialogue of nilou brought the creatures of simulanka AND her creation to teyvat makes me think nilou's power of making dream into reality is quiet strong
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CONNECTING SCARA TO RAIDEN MEI HOLY. So many people don't realize he is still a part of the Mei family (maybe not an expy of her directly, like Ei, but for sure a small part of the MeiVerse)
Also speaking of Scaramouche and Raiden Mei connection, doesn't HoT have Kurikara/Benares? Imagine if Scaramouche randomly gains the authority of thunder and has Durin as his dragon like Mei. (probably impossible, but I just cannot get over this probable coincidence lol)
let me cook
We know that Fatui was (or is) in Dragon Spine.
And we know to conduct research on Dorian and his return.
Also, we know which Harbinger loves this kind of research and will lead it, since he has been in mondstat before…dottore
We know that Scara's story is tied to the doctor's story because of what the doctor did with her life
What if this is a reunion between Scara and the Doctor?
On the other hand, the original version of the doctor is probably not alive and he is an artificial being too like Albedo and scara and durin
This twist could be very good where Scara takes her revenge by saving durin from the doctor

Teyvat lore is starting to resemble elder scrolls lore kinda
