  1. I think the most terrifying thing for me when Scaramouche erased his existence causing everything to be rewritten was the fact the little boy who he took care off probably died thinking he was alone if no one else wanted to take care of him.

  2. The ending is weird because he doesn't elaborate about the sky being fake and anything else really. And i think it's just because Mihoyo doesn't want to reveal that yet, cliffhanged again

  3. I hope Hoyo will now be careful in using the Irminsul mechanics because it is a deus ex machina.

I was already a bit sad that, that happened during the Interlude, however, I am glad that Her Holiness returned his memories to him, si he can reflect, possibly atone, for everything.

  4. Okay, but can we talk about the fact that Scaramouche technically committed suicide?

    Think about it
He thought that, if he never existed at all, the lives of the people he loved would be better, and did just that. Erased himself from existence.
Although, sure, his physical body didn't die, just continue on as another individual, his past conscience, his past incarnation (as Nahida herself put it) did die, or stopped existing at that.

I dunno, i just find it fascinating how beautifully Hoyoverse wrote his character story.
The Wanderer (or Kuni, as i've named him) is undoubtedly my most favorite character in this game.

Also, so sad that Yae's line about him is gone. I loved the way she said "…we're no longer waiting for the disaster to happen, are we?"

  5. Bet 100% Dottore have secret stash of his copy & I am also sure, he can "activate" n "deactivate" his segment, so in case of someone about to "purge" him, he still have a back up. He is a harbinger that was Nahida's citizen, if he live around 500 years ago, that mean it was rukkhadevata herself that might banish him. So he must've known how far his archon's capability is, now that she is not as strong as before, he have more advantage on the deal.

  6. Go talk to the Fatui diplomat in Mondstadt, Mikhail and Lyudmila, after this Archon quest, they will mention about the 6th position of harbinger being vacant for years.

  7. I believe that it's likely that information that is encrypted in some way cannot be touched by Irminsul. The Fairytale was just a way to encrypt the Baladeer story and the traveler was a key to decrypting it, given it was likely Nahida had gone through that story before but without any context provided by the traveler, she assume it to be just that, a fairytale. When the traveler filled in context, she was able to rework the story into the actual history. I would assume other forms of Encryption would also be ignored by Irminsul as long as there is no direct way to recover it. Need some sort of stimuli to figure it out. If the Fatui remember, the stimuli may be the missing member in their rank that acted as the stimulus

  8. As for the Doctor burning Irminsul
Idk anymore…. Reason being, the doctor talks about his Segments which have all been destroyed and that Scaramouche is still know to the Fatui since Childe was given the duty to find him

  9. What about that book in Lisa’s story quest? Could that also be a historical situation written in a way so that it doesn’t get erased by irminsul which is why they abyss order may have wanted it?

  11. I dont really hate the quest i just have some gripes
First off, im kinda annoyed at the back to back irminsul usage. It's not unheard of for scaramouche to want to cease to exist but the fact that it happens immediately after the forgetting of rukkadevata. But my main issue is the continuity of the teyvat universe the overwritten timeline of signora getting the gnosis over scaramouche doesn't make sense. It also removes a lot of character plot details that were previously introduced and even if scaramouche is willing to face punishment for his actions, unless they get their memories back the consequences of his actions wont be the same as the previous timeline.

I do hope that dottore or the tsaritsa have some memory backup like nahida so that if they notice some continuity issue they are able to capitalise on it.

I also have mixed feelings on dottore being the reason for a good chunk of scaramouche's backstory.

  12. This years GAA event realy gave hints to this archon quests. I must pay attention to the next one for Fontaine.
This year Mona's story was about fate being constant. She strugled her whole life because people wanted her to not only predict but also change their fate. And she felt guilty for being able to forsee but not change anything.
Then came Sumeru and at the 3.2 archon quest suddenly we find a way to change so many people's fate (curing Elazar, getting reed of withering). So it was easy to forget that fate in Genshin can't be changed.
And it was understandable that someone like Scara would jump to try and change the past. But at the end it simply showed that past still exists, people don't have right information about it. So fate can't be changed, nor reversed or rewritten in Genshin universe.
Also one good concept that this past 2 archon quests have touched is object and the information about the object. They are seperate things. Objects like Rukka and Scara exist in the history, but the information about these objects doesn't exist.

  13. Didn't nahida remember the events thanks to her backup allegories AND the traveler? I imagine with an allegory alone she wouldnt be able to reconstruct a past that never happened. i find it hard for dottore to be able to remember everything, even with backups, without the help of someone that fills in the gaps or tells him scaramouche's story.

  14. Really? A character who genshin itself made as to hate and suddenly they say "go on kiss him" and we are supposed to do that? Is it an experiment to see if they can Bend us to their will or something?

  15. So, Irminsul's data isn't absolute. It can be modified/deleted by others and it changes the way people perceive the history of this world. It is so potent that not even the Dendro Archon can't differentiate the fact that some data's were modified/deleted despite the fact she is the avatar of Irminsul. What if Traveler's sibling edited his own data into Irminsul, thus not categorizing him as a descender. As for why, it's still unclear but obviously related to Khaenriah. But one thing is for certain, we can't take account to anything the Archon or Irminsul says at face value given that history as they preceive it can be modified and they'd be completely unaware about it. Although the effects of the past remains, people's perception changes if Data on the Irminsul is changed.

  16. I think a lot of you guys misunderstood something
The events that happened in the past didn't change,
it's just that people don't remember it correctly

I believe nahida and traveler didn't fully understand how irminsul works
In the end of the quest the traveler realized that the past didn't change after seeing the broken vase but the voice cut our thoughts

  17. I think it makes sense that erasing someone doesnt totally rewrite history for plot reasons but I'm so used to that being the case in other media where one thing can change so much that in this case where literally nothing happened just felt hollow for me.

  18. I'm personally pretty bummed about ei, yae and childe forgetting scara. I have always been looking forward to seeing future interactions especially between ei and scara. I feel that its a lot of wasted potential from a writing standpoint. That being said, an interaction between a scara who remembers and an ei who forgets could be interesting too I guess.

  19. karma houdini at its finest, but i saw that coming from a mile away, gotta sell those pretty boys right lmao
gameplay wise I already long gave up on the game, now the lore can be diminished as much as they wanna sell the new character. Anyways, great video as always, Aster. Keep it up!
