  1. I never understood their hype around that tcg addition wont players rather play the main game instead?? Personally ive never liked card games so itll be just like fishing for me a forgotten mechanic

  2. You know it takes a certain lvl of crazy to not only tell a section of your players a section that also includes your whales that β€œ Congratulations you spent all that money on our game and as thanks we’re never going to make you content to use those items on”

But it takes an even higher lvl of crazy to not only tell players that all the grinding they’ve done is meaningless BUT to spend 2 years on developing their final element, making video logs ABOUT them putting all this work into said element and then also going out their way to actively make their 4 stars worse and to add content where players don’t even have the luxury of even playing with their characters because their going to make events where they force players to play as the traveler which means they can’t even interact with their characters in the content the do push out that isn’t the combat oriented events.

Mihoyo has single handled pulled out their biggest gun to shoot of both their legs by finding a way to contradict themselves every step of the way and piss off as many people as possible

  3. It's over. This basically just confirmed that end game will just be their TCG (yay, gacha on gacha) and Mario Party events. I was a fool to think they'd add cool endgame content like a tough multi player domain, or boss rushes, etc.

  4. I haven't been able to clear the Abyss yet and currently building secondary team to achieve that. Truth be told, I'm only doing it for the Primos. Although Abyss is not my favorite part of the game, I do agree that we need an endgame content otherwise what the hell are the grinding for? Just to murder slimes in 0.1 second?
Sure not every player will want to max everything, but to the players who do and eventually do, at least there's something at the end of the line that they look forward too.

  5. The rhing is everyone still going to spend money everyone still getting characters logging in and doing events. Mihoyo still going to make a billion dollars it's been 2 years with no new end game and no changes to spiral abyss why is everyone disappointed now that they said what they have been showing

  6. It's not like genshin impact is struggling because there is no new end game there breaking records and the most successful gacha game around without hard-core end game so I don't see them changing a winning formula

  7. THANK YOUUUU for mentioning the WL thing i literally beg them for it in ever single survey. i dont even want rewards. i like the combat, AND i like the exploration.. i want to be able to explore the new areas without killing things in 1 hit πŸ™ its optional to turn it down let me turn it UP

  8. i dont know about the english speaking community, since im mexican and just follow spanish genshin comunities but i remember in inazuma people really wanted a traveler skin of the uniform you were meant to wear with teppei which we never got

  9. If you ever see a lot of Genshin Impact fans makes a negative and compliment on Genshin Impact then leave it then and put it as a memory and move on into the upcoming game which is similar to Genshin Impact but way better and it might take the population of Genshin Impact is called Wuthering Waves

  10. I’ve never maxed the abyss, but the idea that new endgame or difficult content would cause me anxiety is mildly insulting. Especially with how the game already exploits that with fomo events and daily checklist game design.

  11. Mihoyo has the numbers internally. if more people liked end-game combat content in GI then we would have more of that like how honkai has like 4 of those currently. from your perspective there are plenty of people who want that but in reality that number is tiny percentage of the total player base. heck I got several c6 characters and even I don't do spiral abyss often

  12. I have been playing this game for 6 months as a welkin player and 36 starred the spiral abyss for the first time this cycle. I enjoyed that challenge of finally making it, but as someone who doesn’t have time to play this game any other way than casually, I can see how a lot of people don’t care about it. There are millions playing this game. Most of them are not on YouTube watching guides on building characters, and not all of those are so straightforward to build, nor is the average casual player spending a lot of time reading all talents, weapon passives, artifacts, etc. The spiral abyss is extremely frustrating if your characters can’t handle the mobs and not everyone enjoys this. They receive feedback from players, I don’t think they would say something like that publicly if they didn’t have the data to back it. That being said, this game can easily cater to different types of players and it’s shame that it’s not going to. Take out the rewards in primos or whatever so people who don’t care about it don’t feel pressured to do it and just give those players that went the extra mile somewhere to test their characters on

  13. Make raids that can make use of a team from each player in co-op. For the first couple of raids, they can make lawachurls with few tweaks, after a couple of raids, they can make raid exclusive mobs. Maybe make a dificulty modes for players with lower ar. Maybe if some characters are too op in the raids, make some nerfs that wont make them as strong but still viable.

  14. Honkai characters are already in genshin. Raiden mei, teri teri(nahida) ,Murata himeko. I bet they will add seele, kiana and bronya as future archons, all archons apart zhongli are from honkai, we got 4/7 that leaves bronya for cryo, seele for hydro and kiana for pyro, i cant imagine HoF or HoD(herrscher of Flame or herrsher of Death) in genshin omg πŸ™‚

  15. @4:45 they almost certainly will change their minds. we're 2 years into a supposedly 10(?) year development cycle. does anyone actually think that HYV won't change their minds in the mean time?

otherwise, the entire interview reads like really badly translated PR speak. i won't be surprised that a lot of nuance got lost in the process. call me copium if you want, but i won't be surprised that there are a few "at the present time" that were implied in those answers, that got lost in translation.

  17. Really sad to say this but I'm quitting genshin. I hate that it means I have to quit all the amazing content creators like yourself who made the game enjoyable to talk about when the game itself wasn't fun. I speak with my time and money and for me, this dev interview was the last straw. They've taken away all meaning in building and wishing for new characters for me since there will never be enough places to use them. Thanks Ratheil

  18. You know, back when Zhongli debuted, at some point he was buffed in the process. (Back when he released, his Skill Hold does not summon the Pillar)

So whether buffs were possible or not, I would say yes, but I guess it really depends if the devs themselves think the Characters are becoming lackluster or not. πŸ€”

  19. The game should be designed thinking on the ppl that invest money on the game.. they spend to get stronger characters, to use them.. not to play a f2p card mini game nor decorating a housing..
I'm F2p, but i get that Genshin couldn't be the great game it is without the whales that invest on it.
In my opinion, combat is the game, without combat events, and a more lasting combat end game.. where's the fun?

  20. They claim to cater to casual players despite they haven't add skip cutscenes/dialogues button after 2 years, no resins nor ease for farming for character upgrades, nor even more interactivity for players despite being a social game based of FOMO

It's even more "anxiety-inducing" than additions of more Spiral Abyss modes, oddly enough what makes Sumeru in the past 2 patches being amazing is due to ramped up enemies' difficulty and those unique environmental hazards that adds to challenges

  21. spending money on this game would be a giant slap in the face. all my c0 5 stars clears abyss 36 stars every time & makes it kind of pointless to go for constellations nor signature weapon. i feel bad for those who c6 r5 their characters

  22. Yeah I really think they should add more world levels as well that give better rewards too. One being 3 boss mats minimum and maybe 4 or 5 depending if WL9 or WL10. I also really hope the Traveller gets a skin or two someday. Still pains me how they reject Ayaka's offer for a kimono.

  23. I started the farm of artifacts at AR 59 bc the rewards in the spiral are low and the endgame is 0 and the rng to farm is shit and so i just don't care about spiral, i like it, i wanna like it buuut… just f you mihoyo, you really wanna to make me waste all my resin for very bad artifacts when i have so much shit to do with it and you can not make that f cap at 180 so i can login just 1 time a day? Now i have all talents raised up, all weapons raised up and every character i like at 90 and now i don't have the feeling of waste it if i do 7 run in a domain in 5 min (40×7 resin) and can't get nothing (and in the strongbox too)

Same reason why i started to do boss only when the cost was 30 and not 60, so much f wasted resin, i knew it that an update like that was on the way, i f knew it and so i waited bc i don't f care about the best thing you have, the f combat. And that's a shame, really.

Take your f fomo on those shit rewards in the spiral to wish and eat it from yo ass Mihoyo

  24. I only do the abyss because is the only permanent way to get primogems, but I Hate it. Every time I do the abyss I end up so annoyed that I close the game and don't play until the next day, so I would love new end game content; maybe an actual challenge and not just "Do big damage fast"

  25. I would like other combat based kinda challenges
Such as the yae miko raiden shogun training thing
Like trying to not take any damage,
Triggering a certain amount of reactions in a certain time
landing a certain amount of hits on the enemy
And killing enemies in a certain order

Combat which is more skill than dps check if you know what i mean

  26. I'm a casual, and yes i don't do the abyss like on the daily basis whenever it resets i like to take my time slowly. Sometimes i do it sometimes i don't, mostly matters if i'm not lazy or tired. I play the game casually because i'm busy with my uni, but i do know some people who do spend a lot of time on the game, who pay to get certain characters and etc, who are very into the game and i know some who play it on twitch but as time goes on since they basically confirmed there won't be any endgame content (as of now maybe they'll change) many of my friends left the game since they were playing since the beginning and were disappointed with the lack of endgame content and the lack of content in general.

  27. Thx for covering the whole interview, Ratheil, most other content creators only focused on that one question about endgame content…and I have to say, the whole thing sounds even worse. I'm not doomposting, in fact, I'm quite confident that Genshin will continue to thrive despite the lack of combat-oriented endgame, despite the flaws…but it confirms what I was afraid of : the Genshin devs have adopted a "flight forward" strategy, where they try to fix pre-existing things only by adding new mecanichs/content.
On the bright side, exploration and story content in Sumeru is pretty sick, bot in quality and quantity, soooooo…the things that were good get better, and the things that were meh/bad stay the same…oh well.

  28. It's one of the things that killed WoW. Blizzard started trying to pander to the casuals and listen to all the whining of a vocal minority. The end result was a game that wasn't challenging enough for hardcore players and was always going to be too hard for casuals. The lower you place the bar the weaker casuals become until the game is just a pile of new player pleasing trash. While "70%" of the player base doesn't go past floor 9 you can pretty much bet a large percentage of that number still have it in the back of their mind that "if I just get x character and y artifacts I could do it". The harder content keeps a game alive, even if only a small minority actually play and beat it.

Patch 3.0 and 3.1 have improved RNG from what I can tell or maybe it's just because I am farming Def artifacts for my Itto, Gorou and Noelle right now but I am noticing a lot more elemental cups dropping. It was a bit badly weighted before with far too much grind needed for a single good set but I do mean just a bit. We will see how it is now as time goes on. So far it feels a bit more rewarding.

To Mihoyo's credit, they have done well with Genshin, 2 years on and the player base is still thriving. A large part of that is people not wanting to feel like a game has beaten them. Hard content, long grind and other such mechanics keep players invested. I would rather be annoyed at a few things than play a game with 0 player base that rewards you for doing nothing.

We need more endgame, more diverse endgame. Not everyone likes the abyss. After a year (as f2p) I am finally able to clear Abyss and am working on 36 starring it now. This is largely my bad playing, not following rotations close enough etc. The satisfaction of finally clearing floor 12 was great then 2 starring it etc. I want more things like this.
