Opera Singer Reacts to Natlan Music || Genshin Impact OST

I went into this video knowing I wouldn’t be disappointed but I did go into it with some hesitation and ended up coming out the other side with absolute pleasure! These tracks are really exceptional and it feels like MiHoYo and the Hoyo-mix team have really found a true and unique sound for themselves when it comes to the natlan region. Really cool.

  1. I wish you can cover more DLC region and underground OST in Genshin Impact (not underground like caves but basically OST that mainly comes from world quest and DLC region) like you did with Ruu's melody, Stories of Remote Antiquity and the last song in this video (bro visit the place it's gorgeus asf). I feel like the OST goes harder here than in the main region or archon quest, it is less known because people don't really play world quest (they missing out fr)

  2. It's interesting they went for a more Aztec feel with some Carribean and South American influence (music and setting). Some Afro-Cuban in there too. I thought they would have gone the more Spaniard route with Flamenco themes. But this is more imaginative. As a criticism, for me, I feel like the tracks lack the tension a lot of other Genshin pieces have that make me want to listen to it over again. Also, can't help but wonder what Yu Peng would have done with it. 🥲 but, not bad. It's at least enough to analyze and talk about.

Edit: The Salsa piece is fire though. 👌🏼

  3. Alottt of natlans OST is all about percussion and im ALL FOR IT! lol. theres also an absolute TONNE of subtleties in the background…. love it. i went into natlan expecting to enjoy the OST, i usually enjoy just about anything that hoyomix touches but i really didn't expect to enjoy it THIS much. they did a phenomenal job on this regions OST, and hearing it all in the context of the game is also freaking amazing, it just seems to fit right in imho. sometimes i dont know how these absolute WIZARD game devs do stuff like this. and its not just hoyo, obviously.

26:02 : this is probably my new favourite area track in all of genshin its beyond beautiful. the only things that come close to it are some of the sea of bygone eras tracks. and those were ridiculously good.

  4. heyy marco I was looking foward to seeing your reaction, specially because I'm brazilian and there are some brazilian references in Natlan which made me so happy each time, I love my country I love being brazilian I love our culture and how diverse it is
I would love to see your reaction to the People of the Springs theme 5, it's a bossa nova and of course when I heard it in game I was going crazy
Also the 3rd battle theme! There's a section in there that's brazilian inspired and made me so happy ya'll have no idea, but anyways, I would really love to see your reaction! Specially since that song has so many different latin american musical styles, it made me feel like us hermanos were together yk

I love when there's even a tiny bit of my culture in pieces of media that I like (I've been playing Genshin for four years now, and been waiting for Natlan both excited and scared, which in some moments I was disappointed, but others made me so happy), I love that this game can make people interested in my culture (even if it's just one person), the same way that Genshin made me interested in so many other cultures that I wasn't familiar with.

Also, one thing that I saw people talking about here, about how most of the songs are very calm or happy even though Natlan is the nation of war, and as a brazilian, I loved how they handled the matter of "war", not as a wasteland, not as a sad place, not as an horrible place to live or a place full of chaos. I heavily dislike it when foreigners think that our countries are just violence, or places that are horrible to live in. Natlan being the nation of war because we unite ourselves and fight a common enemy is very nice in my opinion.

(sorry if there are some spelling mistakes english is my second language and it's 1 am here I should be sleeping)

  5. Honestly the best part is.
You take people who have never heard these theme songs in certain locations.

You show them various pictures of the region(like lets say a few photos from People of the springs, children of echoes, the stadium, the scions' dwelling..etc) and play the music. Chances are people would be able to match the music to the place just from the vibe alone quite aptly. Like the music reflects the vibe of the places soo well.

  6. Would love to see you listen to more like this, had a very fun and relaxing time listening to these with you. I missed your commentary during fontaine, while I agree you probably didn't feel much for the music because it is inspired by something that you've been listening to for a very long time already, I think it was amazingly done and probably the best it could've been, maybe your own burnout with the game and the community might've left a bad impression so you're looking at it, the time and the music you listened to now, at a bad light, I loved all of Fontaine's music and everything inbetween like Chenyu Vale that I still listen to looped when needing a relaxing moment. Hope you have a great day.

  7. I find a lot of Natlan music sounds like the area you traverse before finally ending the story with the final boss, The Victory Road of Teyvat if you will. Not surprising since Natlan is the penultimate area before the "Elite 4" that is Snezhnaya.

  8. I’ve been gaming on Boosteroid, playing Genshin Impact from my phone while traveling, and it’s amazing! There’s no lag, and the memory is enough for everything I need. I think you should try it out and maybe do a review – it could help a lot of mobile and cloud gamers!

  9. They totally cooked with Natlan, Ode of Resurrection is totally my favorites.
I got chills the 1st time I heard Ode of resurrections in the story. Shame I already heard it during the livestream, if not the impact would be bigger.
The child of echos too, I just stops and listen to the ost while they breakdancing then suddenly getting an achievement XD

  10. hi Marco! i'm honestly one of the quietest commentor whose doesn't comment very often and when i do it's because i rly want to and feel the "need" to do so, i wanted to say that everytime a new region/boss is released in Genshin/Honkai Star rail i always hope and refresh your channel for your feedback on it, you've maken me a less ignorant person towards music by making me analyzing aspects of it that i've never would've consider, such for example the meaning of a slow tempo that could mean it want to make that moment more of a reflection on what the character is going trough/what's the enviroment of said theme is currently playing on, another example is the humming, it could mean that it's heartfelt/genuine/surely a moment of peace/reminescence, another one is the use of few instruments in the case of your reaction "Zhongli's theme "the listener" you described it as stillness/maturity/confident it wouldn'tve crossed my mind but now you unlocked that ability in my mind where when i analayze osts/themes/pieces i my mind would pingpong between all of those things you indirectly teached thus making us more able to "understand" music in all of it's shapes and form, TY and sorry for that long essay basicly ahahaha as i said, i rly meant every word!

  11. I dipped into playing Honkai Star Rail for a bit right before 5.0 came out. Musical landscape in that game is wildly different from Genshin, and I digged it a lot.
But when it came time to experience Natlan, the scores were just mwah! Chef's kiss! I don't think I've ever had the urge quite as strong before to just chill in the area and simply listen to the musical ambiance, as when I first got to the Children of Echoes village. There's even an achievement in game for just standing and looking at the performance on their stage thing!

  12. my complaint on natlan soundtracks is that they're less than 2 minutes each.
well maybe it has been always like this but it's more disappointing now because they are so good.
