i put drawing,painting,origami and everything aside for my studies,even tho my parents were not supportive of this.
now,6 years later, graduated, i know what a dumb thing that was. just,,, do what you love. school wont do shit for you.
when you look at the asian path, you will see dark soul 2 with higher difficulty
At least, my parents weren't like that. Just made sure I'm on one of the class top 10 list, and I'm good to go

I remembered I got second best in my class and my mom just asked "Who's the first?" without congratulating me whatsoever.
I knew some people who experienced similar things, and as an Asian, I was glad my mom tried her best not to require me those grades.
Well, to be exact, she did require me something. She didn't like seeing anything lower than an A, but good thing she expected my Math grades at B always so when I finally got an A+ she literally bought me a cake to celebrate because she was surprised I finally studied enough for Math. She partially blames herself for not prepping me for Math when I was in kindergarten and I was so eager to learn but she didn't teach me. She covered the rest, except for frikkin math 😂
It's like her own way to let me know I am free to do my own thing but still try to study my acads. She was also proud that I was very active in the chorale and was a soloist.
I hope that during her 58 years on Earth she was proud that I was her daughter. I still miss her everyday. Rip mom.
