  1. Tons of people in China evade taxes because it is so easy to do and almost no consequences. Some celebrities get caught for tax evasion, but almost never the normal people. I guess in Shirakami's case, he grew too popular for his own good

  2. Unbelievable. Pretty sure china doesn't know but people already have re-uploaded content. Once posted on the net once its never going to come off. Still work is work if its not harming anyone which its not. This should not warrant any jail time.

  3. He didn't make any mistakes. It's not his fault he was born in a country with pathetic leaders and terrible laws.
On one hand, when people say horrible shit like "we nuked the wrong country," that's not okay and super offensive. On the other hand, shit like this makes it so that kind of racism isn't surprising when it happens at all.
I hope shirakami somehow gets the opportunity to come to a better country. We'd welcome him with open arms and praise him for getting that bag. Screw every hyper-nationalist person out there, Shirakamii did nothing wrong.

  4. he deserve more , I hope all countries became like China, who the hell is going to watch this content other than kids and teens? Do you think married adults would bother to watch such entertainment? When they can do it by themselves? Hell, it's not called art that sucks, there's no sense of art in that! All artists go to do this works for views and money and forget about real art He publishes these works on social media, they must appear to many people of different ages everywhere, and then most illustrators like him do not hide their obscene works and do not put a warning. I can imagine how many people their eyes are polluted because of it.

  5. It's so unfair that some people who really did bad things like m*uder or p3d0philia just get like 5-7 years on jail, but this guy who was making some random nsfvv content of fictional characters got way more. ….Man.

  6. Just want to give a information that how the R18 contented was so restrict in China. A BL animation called “The Founder of Diabolism” is now quite popular in Japan and worldwide. The original author was sentenced to also 10 years in jail because of selling “inappropriate content” of books, which actually just some BL content. Just to remind, even sexual assault or some other violent crimes won’t be sentenced up to 10 years in China.

  8. His animation and quality is great not gonna lie, with his skills he could have made something different like fan animations and he's only working online just to earn money but dang, China rules are very strict. I can see why most chinese people prefer to live in different countries

  9. I think people need to stop and realize that it IS illegal to make fan content for profit. Just because the rights owner doesn't stop you, doesn't mean they aren't stopping others. It is the copyright holder's exclusive right to profit from their media. Japanese (and even American/Canadian/Australian companies) will usually look the other way as long as the unauthorized content isn't mass produced or marketed for profit (eg kickstarter, patreon, fanbox, etc)

Now, do fans deserve jailtime for just exercising their skills? No, I don't believe they should. If this happened more frequently, it would discourage people from actually learning how to draw, model, and animate. It doesn't matter if it was NSFW or not, there's no real people to get consent from, and the rights owners aren't going to bless a fan product regardless of what it is.
