  1. This is such a nearsighted take.
    Spiral Abyss being harder isn't the issue a lot of the non-whale/beginner players have. It's the grind to make it even remotely feasible to beat. There's nothing wrong with challenging content. I personally dig that it's harder, and judging by your run, it doesn't look as unpleasant to play. The issue is the ridiculous grind getting a good enough team to even beat it.
    It's incredibly easy for you, someone who's a whale, to go in, only struggle a marginal amount, and beat it first time. You didn't even have an optimal team comp for the abyss, and you still beat it first try. Most people don't have that type of account. are STILL farming for 1 characters artifacts, and hoping the RNG gods grace them with good rolls on the stats.
    Yes, I understand your argument that this just allows newer players to look forward to something after they progress through their grind. The grind just FUCKING SUCKS THOUGH. So when Spiral abyss was at least playable for these accounts, and now you actually have to really have a strong team with really strong artifacts, it discourages people heavily because the grinding progression is so dogshit. And how do you circumvent that? MONEY. You pay for refilling resin, grind more effectively. You roll on banners for strong characters and get them at higher constellations. You buy materials you need that you'd normally have to grind for, making the grind significantly less. This type of end game content is predatory as fuck in the grand scheme of things, because now it really enforces you to grind absurd amounts every day to hopefully get 1 good artifact as a F2P, or you can pay 100's/1000's of dollars to make that shit way easier.

    I'm really disappointed you made this kinda video. It comes off hella privileged and you clearly don't know the experience of a F2P/budget player at all. I'm glad its more fun for you. But fuck off with this deflection about people complaining only because it's hard.

  2. my only problem with the new abyss is that it locks a good chunk of the playerbase out of free gatcha currency.
    If the abyss was as hard as it is now but you get every primogen for clearing it on the lowest level und the rest is something like weapon upgrade mats / caracter mast or even crowns (like every event i've played in genshin) then it we could have the best of both worlds.
    those who want to have a challenge get rewards that arent "essential" to the game while those who struggle because they dont have every character or weapon in the game still get the same amount of primogems.
    when those who spend on the game get even more gatcha currency because they spent so much it creates a rift in the playerbase because people that dont spend as much feel like they are getting the middlefinger while those who do spend much feel like its just a drop of water inside the empty ocean thats called their wallet.
    (but other than the currency issue i do welcome content that is challenging for everyone because that is indeed called fun when you beat it)

  3. The player fanbase says that the game is too easy and no challenge. When Mihoyo gave out hard content. Players rage about it. Then, what do you want actually?

  4. Or alternatively, whales can stop bitching about content being too easy when they choose to play easy mode by buying their way through. I'd like some difficulty yes, but I'd like it to be possible to clear the content as entirely F2P. Envi proved thats not possible in his maxed F2P account. Also, the rewards are the same despite the harder content.

I personally think the game design is bad here because of how the whole abyss is centered around physical damage but then makes the most threatening enemies characters that require reactions to die. It does work to make things more difficult but it really didn't clash together. I think they did try to compensate with adding the fatui enemies that were weak to physical, but when something like the cryo mage comes up, the only way to counter her its to kill her shield bugs first and you can't really do that with physical, which is why I believe the abyss buff is dumb
