  1. Every time i see Itto's demo (every time Itto is on screen, actually) i can't help but giggle. That dum dum oni has one of the best personalities in the game. Can't get enough of him.

  2. Rosaria's Skill is like Kaeya's normal attack sequence where he teleports behind enemies, except she can't do that behind large enemies. Her Burst creates a large Cryo spear that does Cryo Damage Over Time. She also increases active character's Crit Rate, and interestingly a passive of hers allows her to run faster at night. She's one of the Mondstadt characters who got alternate costumes.

Most Catalyst (book / orb) users are medium-ranged. Yanfei follows Ningguang's example, and therefore she's longer ranged. Unfortunately you can't aim with them the way you can with archers, and the AI is iffy, so it's hard to predict where they'll aim. Yanfei came out after Klee, so they're often compared. Yanfei is an adeptus (Liyue divine being) like Xiao and Ganyu, but much younger. Her normal attacks charge marks, which are consumed when she uses her Skill. I think I remember her Burst restoring seals for her, but you may not have her Skill back up to use them again right away. Yanfei is pure DPS.

Eula is a lot of fun to play with: She uses a Claymore, but can swing it much faster, like Diluc. And she really does dance-fight. So beautiful. Interestingly, while her Skill does Cryo damage, her Burst does Physical damage. Also interesting, the line 'vengeance will be mine' is translated in Japanese as 'I will remember this.' It's basically her catchphrase. Eula, like Kaeya, is the captain of a Knights of Favonius company. Amber coming in at the end, and that interaction is a reminder that the reaction between Cryo and Pyro is called 'Melt.'

Kazuha's skill pops him up and gathers enemies, and it's stronger if you hold the key longer. He can also use it while gliding to gain some height. His Burst creates a large area of Swirl that can be infused with a second element, and it lasts awhile. Unfortunate that Beidou never got her own trailer. 'Big titty pirate mommy,' as Max0r calls her, is Electro. Her Skill allows you to parry damage, depending on how well you time it, although it can be held for a few seconds too. Players like to try to time it just right for a Full Counter-like effect. Her Burst surround her with an Electro serpent that does AoE damage to enemies when she hits. Beidou is the captain of a pirate fleet, a close friend to Ningguang, a trading partner to Thoma in Inazuma, and she's basically adopted Kazuha. He's the first playable character introduced from Inazuma.

'Elegant' is certainly one way to describe Ayaka. She has the alternate sprint I mentioned before. Her Skill is an AoE Cryo burst. Her Burst is a swirl of Cyro blades that travels ahead of her, so similar to Venti's it must be aimed. She's a very decent replacement as a Cryo DPS for Ganyu if you don't have her.

While Sayu is a chibiko, she's actually more like Ayaka's age. She's also insistent her theme is based on a mujina, not a tanuki. As a member of the Kamisato's Shumatsuban, Ayato is her commander. Holding her Skill lets you Sonic roll around for a decent amount of time. It's both faster than running, and doesn't consume stamina (although you also don't restore stamina while using it). Her Burst does AoE Anemo DoT, and some healing. But people tend to use her a taxi instead. One thing I've found out is that a weapon will change size depending on its wielder's size, so that Debate Club she's shown using is bigger if used by Noelle or Itto, for example.

Yoimiya's trailer always makes me smile. She's so fun and perky, does enough talking for everyone. She is different from Amber since she doesn't have a decoy, though. Like Ganyu, she has a 2-level charged shot, but unlike Ganyu's, it's single-target. The firework-like things that appear with her charged shot are homing shots. Her Skill automatically infuses her normal attacks with Pyro. Her Burst marks a single target for bonus damage by other characters, and can transfer to another enemy if the marked enemy is downed before it expires.

And yes, you will see lots of fireworks in the game. Generally Yoimiya or her father made them.

  3. Sara is a bit harder to use than Fischl despite the birb connection. Sara's Skill teleports her back, like Ganyu's does, and I think it marks the ground. If you then hit the mark, or an enemy near, it does more damage. Her Burst creates a medium AoE Electro attack, and buffs characters similar to Bennett's buff. And being a Tengu, she does indeed have her own wings.

Yae Miko and Raiden are based on Yae Sakura and Raiden Mei from HI3 respectively. Raiden is a Support character, by the way: her abilities allow her to act as a battery to recharge the party's Bursts, similar to how Fischl does. Her Skill does damage, of course, but the whole party's Skills also charge up the wheel behind her. Her Burst switches her to her sword, where she does a lot of quick Electro damage for a limited time. Unfortunately one of her passive skills makes it so you can't use her to cook. Or maybe fortunately, as she says she should never be in the kitchen. Contrary to Mei, who is a Chef Supreme.

Yes, Kokomi is essentially a mermaid. Like Barbara, she does make characters Wet, though. Her Skill does heal to you and damage to enemies. Her Burst amplifies damage, and lets her walk on water for a bit. But she has a passive that gives her negative 100% Crit Rate. Her effectiveness depends entirely on how you build her. We haven't been in an underwater environment yet, but we have technically been in land under water.

Unfortunately we can't pat the cats, dogs, or foxes. We've been begging Mihoyo since launch, and yet… Okay, I haven't built Thoma. He has a fire shield like Xinyan does, though being a spear-wielder makes him attack faster. I'm not sure exactly how good he is, but he's the friendly version of Tartaglia. Then again, he's the Kamisato's housekeeper , so I guess he's not supposed to be the most effective in combat. Although Noelle might argue differently.

Gorou is apparently based on a Shiba, and that makes him the goodest boi. I haven't used him much yet, but his Skill gives a buff depending on how many Geo characters are in the zone, up to three, and including himself. I forget how his Burst works, though.

Itto is all about damage. His Skill throws a cow named Ushi. As he hits, he gains Supremacy Marks, and once he hits five, if he uses his Burst her gains a massive buff. And since his Burst uses that giant kanobo and lets him do fast swings, he does a lot of damage very quickly. I don't have him yet, but apparently a rerun for him is coming in the second half of version 2.7, and his second in command, Kuki Shinobu, will be on it.

  4. Yun Jin comes across as warm and comforting. Her abilities are centered around shields and buffs from what I know, but in contrast to Gorou, hers depend on team members having different elements. She'll sing some Peking Chinese opera as part of the story, so you can look forward to that.

The contrast between Yun Jin and Miko is pretty big because Miko is a trickster, although she acts proper to mist. Another ranged catalyst user, her tricks extend to the gameplay, as regardless of which catalyst she uses, it always looks like her shrine maiden staff. Miko attacks with Electro foxes. Her Skill allows her to do short teleport, and places a turret down where she used to be. If you place the turrets close enough to each other, they link up, and each subsequent one is a level higher than the previous, up to three. Her Burst calls down a powerful blast of Electro, and, when it destroys turrets on the field, does additional damaging strikes. One thing to be aware of, though, is the turrets often target random things on the field as well as enemies. I'm assuming Mihoyo is working on fixing that. Players weren't too pleased with their last attempt, though. Overall it's an issue with the targeting AI that has existed since launch.

Ayato is Ayaka's big brother. He's also voiced by the CH and JP VAs for Otto Apocalypse from HI3 . Most of Ayato's damage comes from his Skill, where he jumps back, leaving a water clone. You can then hold attack, and he'll rapidly strike with Hydro damage. His Burst creates a large Hydro DoT field. So imagine mixing that with Ganyu's or his sister's Bursts.

Yeah, you missed Shenhe's trailer. There's also some stuff on Yelan and Kuki Shinobu in the 2.7 Special Program if you're interested.

  5. When during the last trailer you say 'they are telling a story here', yes they are. Actually it gives the explanation to a certain plot-hole that occurred in one of the main stories (you will know what I'm talking about when you'll reach that point).

  6. Such a nice reaction. Not so many new genshin streamers are so genuinely intrigued and excited when they react to the trailers. Some new genshin streamers make disgusting comments and sexualise the characters. Your reaction is very refreshing, I wish you to enjoy the game to the fullest! 💜
Also, a Raiden main here, she's so worth pulling for! Now it's Ayaka's banner, if you're lucky, you may get the cryo princess ❄️
