#genshinimpact #shorts #natlan
Time for the monthly rant folks. Well not really, I just like listening to people’s rant and put it into my own critique. Here ya go. My critique of Genshin’s current lore system – both the good and the bad.

  1. This lore changing is a big thing. Newer player don't understand it, because someone can rush story idk in a month or two, also new can get Sumeru characters so they gonna rush even harder.

  2. for me i consider that a few years from now these little side trips and tidbits we learn from chasm and desert aren't going to matter much. i dont think it would make appreciate the main story more or less. so im not going to waste time on these detours.
though enkanomiya was helpful, the other 2 didn't really add much.

at the end of it i think I would appreciate it just the same whether I went through these lengthy world quests for relatively minor details or if I just listened to a summarizer of the important bits near the end.

  3. As a newer player i think i have a pretty good grasp on things, it's also very worthwhile that most important things tend to happen specifically in archon quests

So dilly dallying with some other minor characters can usually be ignored because they're not shown all that relatively

It's like noelle is in schordinger's box, in her character story it's said that she had her exams at half a year, do we ever find out if she's passed? Nope lol

  4. I'll be using Tears of Themis as an example for this. It has a system where you CAN play past events, but the catch is you can't claim some limited time rewards like: badges, invitations, and cards. Though it may take a few months to a year for it to be playeable again.

Hoyoverse has already shown that they can make a system so that newer players can experience previous events. They should implement this in genshin.

If they wish to keep genshin file size smaller then have an option to uninstall it afterwards (Tears of Themis also has this option)

The events have great interaction between characters and have integral lore drops. The sky is fake thing, I had to experience it through someone else's playthrough. Why not keep the hard work of your team available for longer genshin 💀

  5. That reminds me, I still haven't unlocked the "before sun and moon" book in my archive ._.
It was a weird feeling when I went and checked it's entry inside the game just to realize it was locked and all I knew about it was through videos.

  6. I was pretty lucky to join just before Inazuma but damn I’m still pretty salty I did not get the opportunity to do klee event or the event with scaramouche. Let’s hope they find a good balance between time limited events and permanent for the lore because it might be pretty tough in the future…

  7. A way I could see them fixing the time gated lore would be adding it as DLC that wouldn’t be mandatory. Instead of adding it as quest you need to do to continue the story, it could be unlocked as extra quests. This could be added as an optional download. But knowing Hoyoverse and there use of Fomo, if they added it, it would probably be added it as the usual paid DLC.

  8. I think the most annoying thing about the lore is that it’s extremely inconsistent to the point where nothing makes sense.

For example, in the Memory of Dust description, we learn that Guizhong’s body fades into dust, but in the 3.4 cutscene, she’s actually a statue? So what actually happened in between? I’ve had the idea that Zhongli would have preserved her body since she died in his arms, but is that really what happened?

  9. First of all, seeing you using my fanart on your video makes me feel really honoured and blessed, I will now share this with all my friends to flex.
Secondly, yea, I agree with all the things you said in the video. I keep telling my gf how many things Genshin could still improve and take from other games. Zelda botw let's you replay the cutscenes for example, something that simple would be enough for new people to not miss out on limited events with story lore.

  10. The time gated quests is very true. I started genshin at late 2.7, and probably got deeper into its lore it a little later, (because prior to lore, i enjoyed the game play/map first). My interest in lore only started at Liyue archon quest(i mean, I was accused on murdering the geo god, of course it piqued my interest. Lol. I didn't appreciate Mondstat archon quest the 1st time coz i'm not into the story yet, i barely even remember that I saw Venti 1st before meeting Amber lol).

In my experience — Scara, prior to meeting him at Inazuma's archon quest, I am so confused on why did the storyline of traveler implied that they already met before, it got me thinking if i skipped a dialogue that mentioned him only to learn that his first appearance was Mona's limited time event.

Also, I regretted not finishing the GAA quest only because I was new to the game and not into its lore yet (i also missed out all it's reward because i didn't know how important primos are haha)

  11. One thing that i really appretiate about sumeru is how a large chunk of its "very influencial" aspects of the lore is reflected within the world and the quests,i don't need to read 50 different books and notes just to find out who the other 2 gods of sumeru were in the first place aside being name dropped a couple of times, the main story and world quests give you the frame story, and your findings and readings flashes the picture out even more, there are figures in the lore that are seemingly important but are left to rot to the point where they genuinly feel forgotten,i really wanted the rest of the story of the old mondstadt eith the sheer amount of plot holes surrounding it and specially decarabian since the item descriptions tell us that him being a tyrent isn't entirely true
Pls hoyo for the love of god give venti a 2nd act quest
