My Response To Tectone's Comments About Genshin Impact…

My Response To Tectone’s Comments About Genshin Impact… IS MIHOYO GOING BANKRUPT OVER GENSHIN IMPACT? I absolutely love this video of Tectone’s because NOW we’re finally starting to ask the same questions I’ve been shouting since shortly after Genshin Impact has launched. This is a great topic for the Genshin Impact community.

  1. The math over Genshin Impact is quite simple. And, if people would bother to follow the known info provided by miHoYo and from the gaming press, they'd have no room to talk.

Outlets like Distructoid and vg247 all report it will cost miHoYo 200 million yearly to support Genshin Impact. Sounds like like a lot right? However, consider this. based on the number of Primogems given out by miHoYo from the festival, we can safely determine (at minimum) approximately 5 million accounts worldwide logged in and did the web event to claim those gems. (the number will vary since payouts were different per account).

If 1% of those account as "whales" or content creators (50,000), they would need to make $4000 USD per whale a year to meet the support quota. Everything else is profit. How much did Tectone drop on Staff of Homa alone? How much did they drop on Xiao? How much will they drop on Rosaria and Ayaka?

200 million sounds like a lot until you recognize that the whales and content creators are essentially paying to maintain the game. Everything else is profit. And the number is actually quite higher. Numbers suggest the player base of active accounts is easily between 6-8 million. Even people that spend 5 bucks a month on a pass makes them a profit.

I love Tectone also. But many, sometimes I swear he forgets to take his medication before he streams. He's either dead right, or he's off his marbles. There's never a middle ground with him lol.

  2. Honestly aside from the stinginess, this format of limited bits of the main story every other huge update bores me too. Hell even the main story update gameplay mostly consists of talk to character, teleport somewhere, more cutscenes with long winded dialogue to bloat the quest, a fight somewhere in there and finally more cutscenes with a crap ton of dialogue.

  3. Remember how Epic7 eventually improved and became better? It took the entire community threatening to boycott/quit the game and there were a couple of company-player conferences being held too. It eventually allowed Epic7 to gain a pity system for summons, improved the daily login bonus and a whole other tons of QoL stuff. Change is possible, but yeah, reality is that it would require people not pumping money into the game to send a message.

  4. Doing my part to fix the weapon banner cause I have NEVER summoned on the banner. The most wild thing is we are this deep into Genshin and the resin refresh timer is still the same as launch. Changing that from 8 mins to at least either 6 or 5 would fix most peoples issues with resin tbh
