My Honest Thoughts Going into Genshin Impact 4.0

Genshin Impact 4.0 has me morbidly curious, and I really hope I enjoy it… but I can’t shake the feeling that Genshin is just too far gone, and not the game I fell in love with.

  1. I've not touched the game since finishing the archon quest in sumeru. Gone from playing daily to having zero interest. I'll check out 4.0 but honestly it's not worth keeping up with the events etc if the characters have no meaning outside of just collecting them.

Wherever you go Mtashed I'll keep watching.

  2. Hey! I’ve been playing for 788 days.
▫️Found you about 8 days into playing.
▫️I had not played any game in almost thirty years, not since playing Zelda on Nintendos with my (then) young daughter.
▫️I have learned a lot and enjoyed the learning through your vids.
▫️ I’m still playing Genshin, on a second account with fewer (though better) characters.
▫️I liked every heartfelt video about the game – how excited you were at the beginning about what might be possible on the game through to your serious disappointments.
▫️i think you can trust your instincts about content creation. You have been right-on about a whole mess of stuff in the game.
▫️keep us in the loop please, as you have so far— and keep taking good care of yourself – and the ones you love along the way.

  3. This is what genshin does to a man. The level of dissatisfaction u end up with after loving the game for a long while and then not loving it anymore cause its so mundane and boring after a while. Too much of any game is bad for your health 😅

  4. I'm sad Diablo 4 ended up not being the game Michael wanted it to be. I really hope he will be able to do variety streams one day featuring all kinds of games, just having fun and charming people with his "Rizz" 🙂

  5. I get the fixations on games. Genshin was a game I played for hundreds upon hundreds of hours. Now I’m just not very interested. I moved to Star Rail for a bit. Honestly it’s good but I fell off much quicker. Now my obsession is Overwatch. That’s the game that’s going to be played as much as I played Genshin. Fortunately or unfortunately. When a game hits it hits. It’s the game. No idea why this happens but I get it. Honestly I think if you went more general in your coverage you would kill it. When I look at your channel I think of both Samito from Overwatch and SkillUp from gaming journalism. I 100% think you have the talent to grow beyond “I play this game”. You have so much talent beyond what you’ve been doing. I wish you the best of luck my guy. You’re easily one of my favourite content creators. I don’t think Genshin is your peak. You can grow far past it.

  6. I swear to christ, my girlfirend has literally played Genshin Impact everyday since release, and I feel like she's gaslighting me about how much fun she's still having in the game, and I had quit playing with her almost 2 years ago.
We would get into fights about it too, but I can't let it go how terribly unfun this game is, and why I feel alone in this experience.
Then Mtash video comes in and he's literally saying word to word I have feel, including the mental struggles of still wanting to play this game (for him his viewers and for me my girlfriend), but the game f—ing sucks, literally nothing as changed gameplay wise since we've last quit.
As for Mtash and his channel I really do hope he finds that Genshin killer for his channel because I feel that most likely Iwould enjoy playing that game as well (although he did bash HI3, which I didn't appreciate).

  7. I found you towards the end of your Genshin heyday, and while I don't really like some of the other games you have made content for, I do think that I enjoy your critical view on the games you play. I would be surprised if I was the first to recommend it, but have you tried Warframe? I think that it is the kind of game you might really enjoy based on some of the other games you have made content for. Hope that your mental health improves and you can keep making great videos.

  8. You're not the only one that gets hyperfixated on one game for awhile… I do the exact same thing lmao I remember starting genshin I'd work 40 hours a week and play like 55 hours or more of genshin a week for like 3 months….

  9. I genuinely love hearing you complain about genshin. Not that you should keep doing that if its making you unhappy but for me its really helped me with my own feelings on the game. At the beginning I really felt like it would end up being one of the best games I'd ever played once all the content was out but… theres only so many terrible fetch quests and minigames I can take.

  10. ADHD gammer… saved my life as a kid because it was the only way to escape some really dark thoughts growing up. I wasn't a "Disruptive" kid that would get tested and had to brute force everything I did to try to do the work. It was the ONLY way to shut my brain down a spiral, but the hyperflow I got from games and projects I was invested in is where that mindset shines… and where I keep my sanity. keeping more than 1 project going also makes me happier. I'll start one project and while working on it I'm also thinking of the then next.

But yes when you abuse that ADHD brain wiring, burnout is inevitable. I was having anxiety attacks on the floor and after work for years at my one job because they were expecting me to do 5 jobs in the exact same moment and my body was going to fight or flight mode EVERY day to cope…

I wish you luck because no job should make you physically/mental health decline to the point of not being ok.

  11. I like that you rant about the combat and stuff. It's genuinely entertaining. Mostly I just don't like that you focus too much on Genshin doing minigames or non combat things. You just kinda have to accept that and push them as they should to do more combat content as well. Like the most current combat event with the three parties was incredibly good, and could be a possible evolution to abyss. Genshin kinda needs creators like you.

Also the last event was completely ass. This is from someone who has been keeping up since inazuma. It was phoned in and had no substance compared to the last summer event.

  12. I dont like ranting vides in the sense of makes me satisfied not at all but the fact is ppl are being Gold fish level of dont know whats been going on the past year month week or day.
Its not like you complain about new things these are problems that werent fixed since the game is out.
So in the sense of i like that someonebody is still talking about the issues rather than acting up on it like most of the other genshin cc.
Ofc u cant force it it was fun till it lasted no shame in admiting that u rather do anything else than genshin.

  13. I still like Genshin only because of the lore and I still want to continue on it for the story but the dialogues is so slow and there is no option to click a button to skip every sentences like what other games do.
