On March 23, 2022. When I opened my account I saw a message that I need a 2FA Code to login because my device is unknown like what? Then I saw that the email is used to receive a verification is not mine. At that time I know that I’m F-UP. So I go to my account settings and noticed that I can still login but my Phone Number and Email was changed. I was really pissed that time cuz I spent too much money in the game then in just… Ugh… I was hacked. I know that Hoyoverse’s customer support is very slow so either I’m gonna get my account back with that is not like it was before (trashed). Or I will not get my account back.

When something like this happens to you but hacker still didn't get to your account on PC IMMEDIATELY change linked email and don't link phone.
Someone wanted to hack me but gladly i was on PC so I had 1 hour of fighting with that hacker. Then i had an idea to change email. This was the best thing I ever did.

*Strengthen your passwords (as much as possible dont use similar password for every account you use, those can be mine too)
*Change your password every now and then, make it complex as well. Make it unintelligible too. 8-15 characters are sometimes not even enough.
*Don't log in to websites that aren't by hoyoverse even if it's "secured"
Data mining isn't simple but there are a lot of ways to gather data and make interpretation out of it. Just how by login in different website can lead to interpretation that you use that account in genshin as well.
Genshin isn't that secure so don't just rely on 2FA given how many of their in game contents can be mined and put on the reverse engineered game.
Just some tips to help, if you have additional tips please add too. It's so sad to see how many hours you put in the game just to be sold at money that cannot compare to the time you spent in the game.
3 years ago, My brother's acc got hacked it's rblx acc and i quickly log into mine and start thrashing the hacker then i got hacked too for no reason, all i did is mock the current user of the account in chat. I recovered mine because my acc is protected and here i am still wondering how i got hacked.
I learned something about stealer programs after one of the youtube artists was hacked in every social media. I have never seen that someone talked about it when discussing hacked accounts in genshin so I want to share this information. Hope it will be useful for someone. You shouldn't save your passwords in browsers. You couldn't always be sure that there's no any stealer programs on your device but you can protect yourself from stealing your passwords. Just don't save your passwords in browsers.

I'm wondering how they can bypass 2FA and change your password if you need access to the main email account for that. I'm not an expert, but I commonly see this happening to victims of phishing or use emails that have been used on sites that have been breached. I agree hackers can definitely interpret your password as well only if they have access to all your email accounts.
