  1. Not quite an OG player since I joined in 1.3, but I think I can say I’ve been here for quite a while and what a journey it’s been. With the third anniversary approaching, its really nice to see what the mood was like all the way back in the game’s first year of release. Your time capsule release schedule is so unique and I love the nostalgia it brings.

  2. Gacha games that I played before genshin did a bunch of holiday events that gave away free skins, free units, holiday quests. Then on 1 year they put out special banners with 30% increased 5* drop rates, enough free currency to pity 2 5* units. So expecting 90-180 pulls or select a 5* in an anniversary event was standard for gacha games at that time. Mihoyo clearly did not understand that outside of China, gamers expect anniversaries to be recognized and huge affairs, thanking their players for making their game successful. instead did a modest Chinese new year event Iin liyue, thinking global fans would be fine. At the time it felt like a huge spit in the face. I didn't rage online or review bomb, but I did stop buying primogems from them. If they can't give fan appreciation events celebrating big milestones why should I keep giving them money?

  3. I'm honestly super happy to be a part of this community and especially yours!

Even though i just lurk through your twitch streams and watch from the shadows huehue…

Genshin Impact will be THE game we were there for, those memories are priceless as you say, and i believe one of the best things in life is making a good trail of constant memories you can look back on and reminice!

Can't believe we are already at nation 5/7, even though we will see expansions of existing nations as well, (Mondstadt and Liyue especially) all in all, you've changed my life quite a bit with your playthrough alone because of the memories and ripples you have made on it (for the better), sorry for this long comment by the way but i just have lots to say ehe, but i'll end it now, pure and simple. ❤

  4. i personally didn't care if we weren't given many in-game rewards during that first anniversary- the trip down memory lane and the live virtual concert that they hosted FOR FREE was more than enough for me,, <3

    anyways, another great video!!

  5. yeah, this 15:39, i thinks lot ppl expected too much to give free *5 even for standard banner, and some channel YT make it worse to advertised that (this people who make this dont care about that, they just want bait ppl 🤷‍♂️and lot ppl failing for that trap and outrage 🤦‍♂️😑) , like duh

  7. I love what you said about the anniversary drama. It’s totally understandable to be disappointed when you don’t get something you want, but the way some folks behave and start drama is just so unnecessary. The way I always felt about this game is I basically have a AAA game for free that’s brought me endless fun, I don’t see the need to complain about not getting extra free rewards. It’s like getting a free buffet and then complaining that they didn’t bring out an extra cake/dessert for your birthday or something. It just feels very entitled.

  8. I still remember getting my mind absolutely blown after finding out I can climb trees in the game. Genshin was my first open world game and i didn't know you can do such thing. That thing alone got me hooked in to the game

  9. the 1st anniversary was the breaking point where I left a bunch of the online Genshin communities because of all the toxic bullshit. Expressing disappointment is all good, but I‘ve seen soooo many racist comments towards the devs, unreasonable hate towards the VAs and the worst beggar energy I‘ve seen in my life. Your channel is one of the few Genshin community I still actively follow! Thank u, Arnold, for always being respectful & positive.

  10. disclaimer this will probably a long one and jumbled together.
I started the game at launch pretty much because a close friend of mine was super hyped for it. But unfortunately I couldn't even get through the city gates because my device at that time couldn't take it. Fast forward to 1.3 and I nearly forgot about Genshin but stuff happened and I came back. After that I never really left. Yes whenever I had stuff to worry about, I took short breaks or just logged in did my dailies and logged out but never really left the game. Which is kinda rare for me because almost no game can hook me more than a few months (Exception is Minecraft) because of how I fast I get tired of things. Genshin, as Arnold says it "Gives you too much to do." Whenever I don't feel like doing something I just switch to something else. Which I know isn't for everyone. Not everyone wants to go around collecting raw meat just because new recipes demand it. But at the same time be respectful of people who actually do like it. Video games are a privilege, they aren't a necessity (CCs are and exception) so either way you are technically wasting time from it. So just let people enjoy their free time.
Regarding the game's flaws, sure it has a lot. The devs themselves are not perfect but they are getting better each patch. Throwing that internet pessimist shit out of the system can we really the game hasn't improved? Inazuma's story had pacing issues but had heart (Without it even good structured stories can be bland). They took feedback and improved it by miles in Sumeru and now that we're in Fontaine, it should be illegal how beautiful the underwater is and how good the underwater mechanics is.
All in all if you enjoy the game I do too. If you have problems with it, criticize it as well as cite its strengths, it creates a positive feedback loop. If you completely dislike it. That is also fine, do something else that you enjoy your time is far more precious than just wasting it on something you don't like. (Also common sense but… Don't force your ideas and likes on people. It actually has the opposite effect.)

  11. Ohhhh I remember the first anniversary… I had to log out of all social media and not open them for a couple of weeks during all the fiasco, because my timeline was SO NEGATIVE it affected my mental state… I just hate how people are so negative and childish over a game. I’m grateful it didn’t happen on the second anniversary though, like, yeah, some people still complain, but overall it’s not chaotic like the first one
