I'm playing Hollow Knight and a couple other gacha, but mostly I'm doing online courses and relaxing after my 15 minutes of Genshin.
I'm normally super good at waiting on my main account. The only time I topped up in this game was a day before the Ayato/Venti banner was over, only when I ran out of sources to get primos, but that was the only exception. After the first Raiden banner I skipped 3 banners (one of them being Hu Tao and Homa) to get Albedo on his rerun. I had over 20k primos and the anniversary wishes. Luck smiled at me and I won the 50/50 and got a Diluc cons in the same 10-pull, so I was able to get 3/4 of the mono geo husbando team AND enough to start a c1 Xiao/PJWS fund after getting Itto. I admit I do first day wishing, but I always test them and inform myself on their kits in advance especially with DPS, see if they sound similar to my other mains (i.e, Itto I always knew I'd like, he's my brand of selfish unga bunga) or to characters I don't like at all. With off-field sub-DPS and supports I'm more lenient.
Right now I have 4k primos and I'm waiting for Xiao rerun (c1 didn't come home) even though I really want a mistsplitter. If 2.7 starts in early June, I'm not pulling on day one this time. I'm holding until my birthday on the 19th to do a special session and see if I get lucky and Xiao hears my call on my day. I should have enough for a 5* then. Now if it delays even more than 3 weeks, I might do a 10-pull on weapon banner since I'll have more time to save back to 90 pity.
A part of me thinks I should've waited for Ayato's rerun and not putting non-welkin money in, but I don't regret it because he's brought a lot of fun when things were getting stale.
I'm still trying to pull for Ayaka 😅
Well, i do like gambling, but smart gambling, not impulsive gambling, the kind of gambling where you calculate your odds to not end in negative numbers 😂 and genshin provides this to me (i mean, i would still prefer to directly buy the unit i want, but hey, i cant change that, so why not trying to have fun gambling 😂) i guess its bad to expose gambling to children, but i loved the slots in the pokemon games, and i was very sad when they removed them in later games :/ but im from the minority of people who has self control when shoping or gambling, so im not a good example of the normal player. I didnt even bought the walking moon ever because i understand how bad are the odds in this game (the price is still very good) but i prefer the battlepass to at least get the weapon and more materials and thats why i only bought the basic battlepass like 3 times. Now that you talked about master duel, i might play it a little later, i hope there is an event or something because i had some decks i wanted to complete there but i was out of free gems 🙁
as an f2p player i've learned that pretty quickly (emphasis on f2p because you often have to skip characters that you like and choose what you want the most). also year later into the game i am so, so glad i didn't spend money on this game because there is nothing to do with the caracters in this game, literally. if you can finish the abyss with your roster it doesn't matter what are the pixels on your screen exactly
it's hard not to go all in when you lose the 5050 but want the character, but it is very importaint to just step away from the game at that moment and rethink this.
Gacha lessons :
Expect nothing
Never put large sums of money in
Wait for in-depth reviews
Realize that the game will end at some point
Dont play the x gacha game as your main game
I always wait for the end of the banner (unless it's a character I really want that has been out for a while, aka what I did with zhongli). But the thing is, I won't ever spend money in genshin unless it's the the 90 primos a day thing (forgot the name) just because I don't see the point. You're not even guaranteed that it'll be worth it. And I don't like spending money on things that don't have a guarantee
The temptation of pulling on the first days can be tough specially if the hype was strong or you have been itching for something new due to the lack of content, but as Valk says, its better to wait a bit and see the new leaks to make a more educated decision.
Playing Honkai Impact 3rd and Punishing Gray Raven. Great combat somewhat similar to Genshin and something to do after using daily resin.
I spent for my mist splitter. I wanted this weapon from the first banner so I don't really regret spending for it now. Obviously if I knew I would of saved and just wished. With how genshin is going now I think I'm done spending anyway just gonna save my primos and wish for characters who are cool and if I don't get them I'll just wait for a rerun. I want shenhe
I’m playing fortnite again, but no build. I have returned to the game after 3 years and I’m enjoying it
Even if you like the character and you want the best weapon, I would say always skip weapon banner until really good one.
tfw I got ayaka on her debut banner so I am cool as a cucumber xD
on another note, can't believe you still haven't healed anna yet!
you monster…I just got ayaka…..after 30 pity wishes……wen I lost the 50 50 I thought I'll just have to do the next banner
I’m just pulling the weapon banner to get her sword, still no luck, hopefully with the compensation will get it 😌
Invoked//shaddoll//Dogmatika ftw
I got her the first minute she came out and still don’t regret it and I love this extension because it gives me more time to get the mispliter
I regret the hundreds I spent on this game.
the fact that people feel entitled to something because of real life events that are killing people is absurd. i’ve seen some vicious stuff on twitter, well i guess that’s what i should expect lol
It’s most important to wait and see who’s coming especially now, Sumeru is around the corner and heizou should be sometime soon and we don’t even know what he looks like
F2p me spamming my all promo in weapon bannner
My daily routine is…. mtg arena, warframe and… yes you you guest it genshin…. man i i rly dont have a live man xD
I was bored and had extra wishes so I dropped 30 on the weapon banner, it turned gold at 28, and I got mistsplitter. I bought the welkin so I can save up a bit more during this delay, them I'm gonna shoot for yelan and the redhorn if ittos really in the next patch.
Agree.
Also me who do single summon everytime.
But fr, be patience, especially if you have guarantee, you might need to look into other leaks before summon Yelan.
for me, the initial hype of a character (new or rerun) is a massive part of why i get them. in fact, it might be even more important to me than the actual character themselves unless it's scaramouche lmao. that right there is the most fun part of getting them and it just goes downhill from there, for me. if i was somehow late by 1 day to a new banner, id probably just skip that character since i'd have missed the main event lol
Biggest tip from
A gacha addict like myself if u like the unit u will roll for them not wait , even if there’s free that don’t matter banner type if u really like the unit u go for it if u doubt yourself maybe u should had skip
Megadimension Nepunia VIIR, Warframe, DB Xenoverse, MHOJ2, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (highly recommended), Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Both Hyrule Warriors, and more. I buy a lot of games.
Thanks again for that Ayaka vid. Her dps and crit gives off……"InSaNe DaMAgE!"
The people who have spend money are in a better position.
You could either go for C1 or save wishes for future characters.
Lesson of the day is use your brain and don’t fall for temptation also because everyone around you doing something doesn’t mean you should participate in the same act. (Cough cough summoning)
sup valk, sup comments
Rerruns are for squares. I always go first run.
Yesterday I tried YS 1. After half an hour of not being able to find a starter weapon, I deleted it. Not only was the weapon shop locked but I went out of my way to the second, then the third town unarmed and they had no weapon shop. Like, lol. Even the fortune teller refused to tell me where to go because "get your equipment first", well ok I know that much but where?
I suspected talking to an NPC is the answer but apparently not entirely – you literally have to talk to everyone in the first town, all 21 people, then the military guy to get your noob sword. Obviously I went to the military guy first, well, too bad. Ok, it's an old game but "talk to everyone in town" was bad design even 20 years ago, it's no excuse.
Not sure what to try next. Maybe something that's not an RPG…but after all the text torture in Genshin I don't think I want to see a VN any time soon. Guess it's time for anime…
I saved for and pulled for Ayaka because I needed a Cryo DPS and she reminds me of one of my comfort characters, Weiss Schnee from RWBY, so the hype around her wasn't my main motivation to pull for her.
Thankfully I pulled her on my second soft pity after losing the first 50/50, and I am currently building her for Cryo damage. I only pull for the 5 stars I really like or the ones that can fill a role in my team that hasn't been filled yet.
Sometimes I do this, sometimes I don't. Once I pull for a character of my choice I am OBLIGATED to skip the next banner in order to save up, but right now I ignored this thing for the Mist Splitter. I ended up getting Unforged instead…
been AR60 for about a month now. pretty bored of the game. watched my F2p younger brother still grinding mats for his supports while I'm just twiddling my thumbs. then again before genshin I would spend thousands on gacha games. genshin actually helped me with my gambling cause of the limited banners.
after playing genshin..i been playing Tenkafuma recently
This game is designed to test your patience lol. I learned this the hard way when i fking whaled on Raiden and became too overpowered. I should've known this company is incompetent and that's why I haven't touched this game in a month let alone topping up but the honkai team still has my respect so i'll still buy some skins just to support the boys working on my fav waifu game.
Made that mistake as well with my first Gacha Game (it was an otome game about demon boys) spending frivolously and have a bit of buyer's remorse. I am more aware and conscious on what I am doing with Genshin my 2nd Gacha game with only buying welkin and BP to get what I need.
Lesson learn in several Gacha games I played : Use your money wisely.
Learned this lesson the hard way with genshin. I wasted a lot of primos getting Tohma because of the initial hype, then he turned out to be not so good.
I guess I’m an exception because I’ve been playing this game since launch and only wished on 5-stars I didn’t own. I don’t build pity on a banner where I already have the featured unit for the sake of a 4-star I don’t have at max constellation.
Im actually sad about how i missed the rest of the irodori festival, played until ittos side quest but as a student who is busy i didnt have the strength to continue playing the event i slept on the remaining time i had until the event is over. I definitely regretted that, but im happy that i got lucky in pulling for venti and ayaka , having to get them and winning both 50/50 😁
Dont hate me, but rolling on Ayaka was a mistake. I feel she almost needs Kazuha, Shenhe, and Kokomi. Compared to my Xiao and Raiden team, Ayaka is very underwhelming, a lot harder to use, and seems to require more investment.
Well, I'm unsure about Ayaka, many pros and many cons… I'm skipping her and the future characters for Cyno. I want him, what ever he is, best thing would be: he good.
I saw him and wanted him, but it didn't made sense to save 1.1 for him. But now it's time, got Mona in Yaes banner (and I'm grateful, heard so many bad things and I wanted Mona and have guranteed) a winwin.
I needed to learn this, I had a phase in the middle of my playing journy, pulling after gettin 150 wishes… It's hard to say, how or why it comes, that this behaviour is noot good and than change it. It just felt like, it happend. 🤔
I try to pull characters on the first day without any numbers or calculations and if they turn out bad or anything like current situation I don't bitch about it as it's my fault all along…..lol….but no I can't have patience if I really want that character…….BTW I don't really spend much, I just check the leaks carefully and don't pull all of them.
5 ayaka in 1 multi?
Yae Miko: in your dreams
When it comes to new characters, I usually wait until a few days before the banner ends or skip altogether. I cant roll for every new character. And sometimes getting higher constellation for my other characters makes more sense, especially in abyss.
