Genshin does do it but its less apparent. When Inazuma came out, you did get locked out of story quests after you did a bunch but only for a day. The next day the story would continue. Unless you are binging the story content nonstop, you most likely won't run into it that often. I found a few of those time gated chests and was like wtf lol. Its a concern but not a red flag at least.
