5:56 You guys MIGHT want to check out the two concerts (Starfire Sonorant and Dreamy Euphony). I normally, dont recommend them until you are more familiar with the music… but that is unlikely to happen unless you play the game. But you can't beat the music! Yes!! Stream! Honestly, I'd end up watching the VODs but gameplay is always a plus! #fuhuabestgirl
Hehe can’t wait for the next episode and can’t wait to see you guys’ gameplay! Also all the music is available on Spotify!
Honkai is basically a cult now. Our cultists always look for new chances to baptise new captains in fire, blood and tears.
vote for streaming honkai.
i like to compare honkai and genshin to a potential partner, genshin is the one you know what to expect, there are no surprises, but you get hardly disappointed. its a stable relationship without big ups or downs. honkai is the well, honkai. you will suffer, you will cry, cheer and smile. honkai can drive you into hell and heaven. regardless of what is, one thing is shure, you will never forget your time with it. i was once a longtime player of ff14 than came a time where i had not enough time to play both games, the winner was honkai
Agreed, "If rescuing you is a sin, I'll gladly become a sinner" is one of THE lines.
honkai dreamy euphony concert reaction when??
Like the title says, the shorts just get better and better as time goes on. Here's another long comment with some context and info for your understanding and to clear things up.
Kicking it off with Chapter XI-EX CG, this was one of the mini animated shorts that I mentioned in previous video comments. It's a short that takes place in a specific arc in the story that follows Kiana after she was saved by Himeko and freed from the Herrscher possessing her. In essence, she leaves her friends and roams around alone in this city because she sees herself as the root cause of all the suffering and hardship brought upon her and the ones close to her, so she leaves and wanders off alone trying to get herself out of her depressive state and to try and look for a reason to keep living. This mini short takes places between Final Lesson and Meteoric Salvation, where – on the verge of despair and on the verge of doing "something" that I won't mention for being a small spoiler and due to it being a potential trigger warning but you could probably guess what I'm hinting at- she's able to realize and find a reason to keep going, as symbolized as Himeko breaking through and saying "What are you waiting for." This somewhat plays into the events of Meteoric Salvation, namely the promise they made to each other and the reason why she's going to the lengths she's going in order to save the world. We mentioned that Final Lesson was THE turning point of the story, and this is where it takes full effect as Kiana finally finds a reason to stay alive and keep going.
Meteoric Salvation is the cinematic to end the story arc mentioned in the Chapter XI-EX CG part, I'll call it the "City Arc" here. Like mentioned above, this somewhat plays into the events that happened in Chapter XI-EX where Kiana finds her reason to keep going. If Chapter XI-EX had Himeko breaking through saying "What are you waiting for?" to symbolize Kiana finding that will to continue, then Meteoric Salvation is her confirming and accepting that will and completing her first "task" towards that newfound goal. The events of this short are somewhat hard to explain without spoiling a little but I'll try my best. Kiana right now is acting like a hidden vigilante in this part of the story and gets wind that this organization called "World Serpent" are trying to explode a bomb in the middle of the city to create "stigamatas" on a massive scale. Don't worry about what "stigmatas" are, you'll learn in the story. For now, just think of them as trying to harvest the souls of the people killed by the bomb. Kiana is planning to stop that, so she hop, skips, and jumps her way through rooftops to get to the location of the bomb. Fun Fact: The baseball bat Kiana is using as a weapon is a bit of an easter egg within the Honkai universe. Back in Honkai Gakuen 2, Kiana's default starting weapon was a baseball bat. Ever since, it's been a bit of a joke to have Kiana wield a baseball bat. In Honkai Star Rail, the trailblazer's default weapon is a baseball bat too (since it's a Honkai game after all). Anyways, Kiana arrives at the rooftop and starts to deal with the bomb. The Honkai Energy is too strong that you can see how fast the corruption spreads (the red glowing marks on her hand) and it quite literally starts peeling her skin off. If you looked closely, walking up to the bomb, Kiana had one Gold and one Blue eye. Gold is the "Herrscher" eye, where's she's technically under the control of her Herrscher powers and the Blue eye is "Kiana's" eye, aka the eye colour when she's in control. The situation is so dire that both eyes turn Gold, which meant that if she didn't resist enough, she would lose control of herself again. As she's struggling to maintain control, Himeko appears and gives her that final push. Now she understands her "mission" of keeping her promise and "shaping this wretched world into what they've always wanted." With this, she's able to eject the bomb and while she transforms into her Herrscher state, the blue eyes shows that she's fully in control now – another checkmark in Kiana's character progression! The two people you saw as she sent the bomb up was Rita and Mei. Rita was Kiana's sidekick during this arc and Mei was looking for Kiana, but they aren't important to the short and you'll learn more as you play the game. The end part also isn't anything, mainly a nice piece to let the music play out longer.
Chapter XV CG is another short one but the "spoiler alert" doesn't mean much if you aren't far into the story. If you're still early on, you wouldn't know anything going on, who these characters are, or why they're fighting. It just features two characters – Kevin and Durandal – fighting for various reasons that you'll learn once you hit this chapter. So just take it as a Mihoyo flexing their animation skills.
Lament of the Fallen is another big one. This takes place around where Mei starts playing a bigger part in the story but it isn't exactly "her arc" (that's later). In the Honkai community, we like to call this the "breakup animation" or the "divorce animation" because it's Kiana and Mei duking it out. For this short, there's only a bit of context you need. Kiana has continued to follow her mission of saving the world – but at the cost of her deteriorating health leaving her at death's door. Mei has been following along watching this happen to her best friend and saviour but can't do anything about it other than essentially watching Kiana slowly die in front of her eyes. Mei, being the type of girl she is and understanding her backstory, wants to help and save Kiana. That's when she's approached by World Serpent, the same group who set up the bomb in Meteoric Salvation, with a proposal: she joins the group, she can save Kiana's life. Of course, despite Mei knowing the plans and ideals the group has, she accepts without hesitation if it means saving her. I won't go into how joining the group would save her because that's spoilers. Kiana finds out that Mei joined this group and planned to leave her, which she doesn't like. Thus, it leads to this fight where Kiana is trying to stop Mei from joining this group and Mei is fighting to leave Kiana and essentially "betray" her for the greater good of saving her life and to be able to help Kiana in her mission of saving the world so she doesn't have to do it alone. (Kiana in't really aware of Mei's greater plans and mostly just sees this as her teaming up with the enemy). So, big fight ensues that causes Kiana to use her Herrscher form which in turns causes Mei to use her Herrscher form called the "Herrscher of Thunder" (what a surprise) and knock Kiana out cold, then proceeds to drop THE one liner. Throughout, you can see all the flashbacks which goes to show how deep and long their friendship has gone which helps explain why Kiana doesn't want Mei to leave her and why Mei wants to go through all this in order to save Kiana's life and fight by her side. Also, the rooftop they're fighting on is actually the rooftop of the school they used to go to, because as if you needed more reasons to feel attached. And with Raiden Mei having these lightning powers, you can see where the basis for Raiden Shogun came from.
You've mentioned the music a lot in this video and it's one of the things Honkai does best (which doesn't really say much since they do a lot of things great). Honkai loves going into different genres from classical to dubstep EDM and even combining the two together. They make character themes, typical OSTs, and special songs for animated shorts. Because of that, I would suggest you react to one of the two concerts (or both!) The older one is "Starfire Sonorant" and the latest one is "Dreamy Euphony." I personally would suggest Dreamy Euphony as it has newer tracks and higher production value however both are great and showcase the music of the game greatly. Just keep in mind that some of the songs sung (especially in Dreamy Euphony) aren't by the original singers. However, they're just as good as the originals or even better in some cases. If you do watch the concerts, especially Dreamy Euphony, I suggest finishing up the animated shorts first as some of the songs performed come from animated shorts you haven't seen yet and in Dreamy Euphony's case, includes clips of the cinematic and voice lines from the protagonist of that cinematic. Thus, it might be better to finish the shorts first. In Dreamy Euphony, they also have a song from the APHO story/gamemode of the game so you might want to look at the main APHO 2 trailer beforehand OR go in blind and experience the absolute masterpiece blind.
For now though, the song in Meteoric Savlation is called "Starfall" and the song in Lament of the Fallen is "Honkai World Diva" or "Houkai Sekai no Utahime" just incase you want to listen to them again on their own. Looking forward to the next video as always!
Impossible challenge: Try to to cry with context.
Early content would boring you but keep going mihoyo do better and better untill last chapter
I'd recommend watching the CN dub versions of the next two animated cutscenes (Shattered Samsara and Everlasting Flames) if they are available in the playlist you guys are using for reactions. My personal opinion the Japanese voice acting doesn't do much justice for all of the cutscenes but the original Chinese does
If you watch dev interviews and version previews where devs talk about what’s to come, you’ll feel the oozing passion. The way the story was written and these animation shorts were crafted is beyond hard work.
Rise of Raiden Mei the Herrsher of Thunder..😢 she’s always perfect in every Hoyo game
They’re Herrshers and are basically goddesses…at this point they transcended past Valkyries and closer to divinity…
Next up: Shattered Samsara, Everlasting Flame, Thus Spoke Apocalypse, Because of You, and Da Capo.
Watch the chronicle videos as well. The Mei one will make Lament hit even harder
"Loving a Herscher is definetly not a Sin" if you know where this is from, give yourself a Gold Star and partake in the Pain that we will never see the full Story of it ingame (China….)
sadly honkai can't be understood with game context alone, there is actually huge chunk of story-lore locked in manga as in what happens before honkai or in general references which game gives but its in manga so you might get confused there
Hoyo-mix channel has every music I think, from honkai impact, genshin and honkai star rail
Cant wait till they reach Everlasting Flame and Because of You. Both of my favorites.
Love ur reaction! So amazing! ❤️🔥
"They cant keep getting away with it."
Lmao
I 3 days late, but HELL YEAH
By the way in Lament of the fallen when Kiana is falling Mei grabs her and it cuts to a flash back of Kiana grabbing Mei, that flash by is of when Mei attempted to……..unalive herself by jumping from a roof
I would like to see u guys Watching the concert honkai impact 1 and 2
Mr Del Toro! An honor…
10:23 The thing is, this rooftop where they fight is also the one where Kiana and Mei met for the first time, and where Kiana saved Mei who tried to kill herself by jumping off the roof. So this place is special in both their hearts for good and bad reasons
dang it im late. anyway good reaction guys!
Keep going!!😂❤
They hit harder with context ofc but nonetheless animation story and music are so godly
My thoughts:
Chapter 11EX(aka Amazing Grace): So powerful and seeing Himeko again really makes it more so
Meteoric Salvation: Great bit and the song, Starfall, just hits. I’m surprised you didn’t comment on the fact that Kiana was using a baseball bat which is a Kaslana thing
Chapter 15 short: A fight between two strong characters, too bad it was cut short
Lament of the Fallen: Breaks my heart to see Kiana and Mei fighting each other but there’s a reason why and that’s all I’m gonna say
I wouldn’t mind seeing you guys live stream the game but I would love to see your reactions to these with context, it hits harder, trust me. As for Genshin doing this, we still got Fontaine, the nation with the Pyro Archon, and Schneznaya to go to, who knows
Quick Kiana cheat guide.
Golden eyes, honkai is at risk of or has taken over.
Blue eyes, she is in complete control of her powers.
The last video puts you perfectly lined up to watch the Honkai Chronicles on Mei.
