Is Emilie a NEW Xingqiu? First Impression [Genshin Impact]

Emilie First Impressions

Check out my first impressions of Emilie, the latest Genshin Impact character. I test her abilities, explore her playstyle, and see how she performs in various teams. Find out her strengths and weaknesses, and my initial thoughts on whether she’s a game-changer.

  1. I just gave her deepwood. Figured it would be helpful if I went for the dendro guy in 5.0 over the burning set. Also have no desire to farm that domain since I hate bond of life as a mechanic and will not pull those characters. Hated it since we saw it on the weapons.

  2. It definitely feels like she would have made more sense as a pryo character doing the same thing. We need a proper off field pyro applicator that doesn't require a flipping powerplant to use their burst.

  3. I using Emilie in Burn Vape Furina (Xiangling is replaceable if Pyro Archon release). The damage of this team consistent Burning, Vaporize and Burgeon. I think Emilie primary weakness is application you can't use fast Element application, I think Pyro Archon might be mix between Main DPS and Support (ATK All allies buffs / Coordinate attack) and (on field DPS)

  4. Xiangling’s ER hungry asz for Burn Wrio over Thoma who has less ER requirements, provides a shield AND lowers the rest of the team’s ER requirements is in fact a choice. A bad one at that. Wrio is better with Thoma/Dehya over Xiangling’s ER black hole. The fact that she has to be past 200% er WITH Bennet on the team is insane. Please let go of the idea that Xiangling is an automatic shoe in any team just because you need a pyro. She’s providing nothing more than pyro application (which Dehya and Thoma can sustain themselves with less caveats) and negligible dmg since you’re building so much ER into her, that’s without saying that she provides 0 defensive utility.

Hell Dehya can carry Mililleth for another 20% atk for Emilie and Wrio with a simple E and switch and not having to lose Bennet burst uptime trying to snapshot Xiangling’s ult (the 3rd dmg contributor in the team). Dehya is even a better choice for Neuvillete/Emilie comps as well over Xiangling thanks to the defensive utility she provides. And let’s not get started on the levels of bad Xiangling becomes when she’s the solo pyro in the team. Her ER requirements go almost as high as C0 Faruzan (who got endless slack for it). This is really a case where Thoma AND Dehya provide more to Burn teams in a vacuum than what Xiangling does.

  5. Emilie's hidden value is gonna be in making the Unfinished Reverie set a pretty optimal set in burning based teams.

And even beyond that, with her burning dmg reduction passive, she would be able to enable Marechaussee Hunter on non-Fontainian dpses in non-Furina teams via minute burning self damage.

I found Dehya Deepwood + Emilie Unfinished Reverie a pretty feasible core for just pure burning teams. Can even give Dehya Makhaira and stack EM to give atk, or give Dehya WGS and buff atk when weapon passive is triggered. Could give her Forest Regalia so she can give EM to a melt or forward vape dps.

Rn, Emilie is replaceable but turbing to be the Xiangling of burning teams, not in utility within elemental application, but in dmg contribution. Xiangling doesnt have solid damage outside mono pyro with buffs from Bennett and Kazuha or outside of vape where EM is useless to her there.

  6. I hope the pyro archon is a consolidation of Bennett and Xiangling, without being as strong as both of them combined. Pyro application, a buff (perhaps to pyro related reactions), some battery and some defensive utility. Hopefully with much better ease of use.

  7. as someone who desperately wanted wrio emilie to be a thing and feel good i was extremely sad when i tried the team out. the lack of dendro app and the lower dmg output compared to other teams was sooo frustrating to try to work around. on a side note absolutely love mono pyro with emilie 🙂
