In Depth Premium Currency and Shop Guide for Genshin Impact – Beginner's Guide – Tutorial

This one is a little long, but there is a LOT to cover! Genshin Impact has quite a few different “Premium Currencies” in the game from Genesis Crystals, Primogems, Masterless Starglitter, to Masterless Stardust and I’m going to explain the differences and what they are all used for in today’s guide!

  1. Idk if those bonuses to the gems at the very start of the video are 1 time or not. But did anyone else notice the $30 value gives the best Gem per $ ratio? And with the exception of the $5 and the first no bonus pack the offers actually get worse per each increase. Isnt it supposed to be the other way around?!

  2. Thank you. As a new player (and old school RPG mentality) I agree this currency is really complicated and unnecessary. Various exp, a couple diff currencies, and character summon is PLENTY. Id rather they put more effort into the characters backstories or improve dialogue options (charisma anyone?) or improve cooking / smithing/ alchemy in-game experiences.

The best RPGs (IMO) create some influence on the fate of the character and can adjust the storyline within the game as a result of your choices. I know Genshin falls more into the action category, but still those are the novelty experiences that drive me to even play games like this in the first place (besides it being open world).

Modding is always fun too – but Genshin feels more like I'm buying something to convert it to get a pack of stuff to get a doo-hickey for another thingy that I slap on the character to make them better. Whereas a game like Mass Effect: "I need this to craft an item to combine w/ another item to level up characters abilities"… see the difference? Love Genshin so far, but they kinda miss the mark a little bit IMHO.

Maybe using OG RPGs like Diablo II, Mass Effect, and Fallout as benchmarks is not the proper comparison for Gacha games, but those titles are legendary for a reason. Gacha or not, the devs could benefit from studying their predecessors and trimming out some of the typical micro transacting bullshit gacha fluff. Fingers crossed they read this and stop counting their money 🙄😂
