  1. This highlights how the music direction for the game changed over time. The music was far more subdued at launch, both for battle themes and overworld. These days we have much stronger melodies on average and I love it.

  2. Idk if its just me bc I don't feel like anyone noticed this. Irresistible Force is just a more complex version of Tremor of Menace? Like, they start exactly the same, end exactly the same, but Irresistible Force has added instruments

  3. On the Dragonspine one, I was always a bit sad if I killed the enemy too fast and couldn't hear it all. The end of the last one from Liyue you cut off too early because the end of that one really is the best part of the song, I love it. Inazuma has some of my favorites (Combat beneath the waves from Enka amirite! I remember when the concert dropped and I played it for my husband who doesn't game, and he loved it. Enka is just such a wonderful, beautiful place with such ambience and atmosphere, I love Enka) but my all time favorite so far is that last one from Sumeru.. but then You played the first one from Fontaine and I had forgotten how much I love that one! XD. I genuinely don't understand players who say they haven't heard these songs.
I have to agree with the new Fontaine song that you put in S tier for sure. It's so nice.
Bran, if Genshin makes MARE JAVARI a self contained world like Enka and the Chasm, I will be over the moon.

  4. Songs that plays in the overworld that were skipped for some reason:

    1. Impending Danger (The Chasm)
    2. Struggle of Dying Embers (Sumeru, Withering zones)
    3. Snare Awaiting (Sumeru, Withering zones)
    4. Breaking the Miasma (Liyue, Chenyu Vale, Miasma… zones?)

Considering the criteria, songs that shouldn't have been here:

    1. Irresistible force (Plays in Domains, not the overworld)

On another note, I personally find all of the songs listen worthy outside of the game, like when riding the train and such. The only one I can barely stand is Duel in the Mist, because although good, it becomes very same-y very quickly. I get sick of it after a minute or two and it is the only song that I was forced to switch from when my family heard it as it annoys them. As a battle theme, it's good, but outside of that it is just not enough. Despite this, if I listen to my battle music playlist on Spotify, then I don't skip it even if it comes up. My personal favourite Inazuma battle track is Overlord of the Thunderstorm.

  5. Me: Casually listening/watching this film while taking a bath
My sister in a next room: Nice Vocals xD
Vocals: Bran sing something like "dun dun dun" while Duel in the Mist xD
BTW I absolutely adore soundtrack in this game, I'm especially into early game ones (Mond, Liyue), special areas (Dragonspine, Enkanomiya and Chasm) and lately the Natlan ones – I was waiting for tribal/traditional music from Africa/America/Islands, so Anthem of the Savannah is on loop on my phone xD
PS. I adore dancing RagBros (my mains, both) and dragon <3

  6. I think the Chasm songs are very difficult to judge in terms of enjoyment cos they're so unsettling – that beat drop that didn't come, the lack of resolution. It's not something I'd sit down and listen to like with the other battle themes 😅 but it really sounds perfectly like the Abyss.

  8. One note about a lot of the chasm songs is that the game fades in and out between bgm and battle tracks in the same timeline (they're basically the same track just different versions). It's an experience, that at least I think, elevates it quite a bit in game.

  10. Fun fact for those that's played the game long enough…
It was lightly introduced in Enkanomiya but was used for the entire Chasm was the fact that the overworld exploration tracks and the battle tracks seamlessly transition into one another based on what you're doing. For some reason, this transition style didn't make it into subsequent patches after, so only the Chasm had this type of OST transitioning in the game.

  11. I have the theory that Photon of Fluctuation si the leitmotiff of every battle theme because is actually the Traveler's Theme, we as a star are light, light is made of photons, and the song's say that photons can fluctuate, what's fluctuate, is move from one place to another, if a person could fluctuate between places wouldn't that be A TRAVELER? We (the Traveler) are the Photon of Fluctuation because we are the star light that came into Teyvat and fluctuate in between the different nations, so our light-wave adaptes to every place we visit, that's why our theme changes depending on where we are.
