Hydro Traveler's Kit is Kinda Bad… | Genshin Impact 4.0 Early Analysis

So the hydro traveler’s kit got revealed, and it’s… not looking so good. In this Genshin Impact 4.0 early analysis video, I’m going to be going over what I personally know about the new version of the MC. While everything is still subject to change, I’m going to go over the hydro traveler’s kit, and comment on everything good and bad that it does.

  1. I know they don't want Traveller to be good so you pull 5 stars, but why it's not like xinqiu or xianling keep people from pulling. It's so weird

  2. Just for information, as a theorycrafter I would argue that this 5k max (and you wont reach 5k anyway because you want to stack ATK and CRIT, even in double hydro scenario I don't think many of us will have way more than 20k HP)… so anyway this 5k, I think it's not 5k flat because so far Genshin never works that way.

If it says 5k it's 5k before your multipliers. It means it can becomes 5000*1.616*2.15*0.5*0.9= 2 980 hydro damage if you crit with 115% crit damage.
Ofc it can be boosted with VV or Kazuha buff or Zhongli shield, etc.

  3. At this point I would accept that the traveler is just an NPC that dream to be a powerful hero who travels to many places but in reality he just interact with important characters who have elemental powers. Because I cannot believe that the main protagonist of the game is a powerful character in lore and one of the weakest in game.

  4. Them giving us good dendro mc wasn’t from their goodness of heart it was a must because there were no dendro characters to use 😂 now back to bad mc

  5. I would not undestimate the water kit without further info.
I am quite sure that at some point in the final part of the main story there will be a stage when the traveller will be alone, without the aid of any companion, but with the power to switch element at will, and the water kit is the only one that can provide healing (so far).

  6. almost 3 years waiting for traveler to be a semi-meta usable state. I really thought hydro would be the one.. that water gun felt like hoyo spitting on my face continuously~ 💦🥲

  7. The argument that the Hydro Traveler can't be too strong cuz everyone has access to her, including newbies, is BS cuz to even have access to her, you have to spend a TON of time getting through the main story, at which point you will already have a plethora of other strong characters.

The REAL reason why she can't be strong is cuz she's free, so they don't want you to use her and potentially prevent you from wanting to pull other characters.

  8. Honestly, I think the weird aim mechanic was designed specifically with puzzles in mind. There's no easily accessible hydro bow character since both are 5 stars, and there may be hydro-based puzzles in Fontaine that require a bow. It's otherwise so goofy, and I can't see why else they'd go in this direction.

  9. They still have time to change the animation and the kit since theres about another 2 months before the Fontaine update

(Im still gonna use Hydro MC whatever it is because Im not really a meta player 🤪)

  10. Having a new on-field hydro applicator could actually work out, as the only other real option is Childe who’s a limited five star and only serves the function of DPS and hydro application. If they were interested in making Hydro Traveller any good, they could give them some support that makes them a viable choice over Childe for teams that want an on-field hydro driver.

  11. Deepwood would be good for Traveler regardless of Hydro being good or not. The only reason it'd be bad on Hydro Traveler, would be because of his on-field characteristics. This is for the fact that Deepwood is a universal set that buffs your Team's Dendro DMG. If you use Hydro Traveler with Dendro units, he can be the Deepwood holder while the rest uses other sets.

However, the way that Hydro Traveler is played is against Deepwood.

  12. Ultimately, dendro Traveler… of ALL the Traveler variants… is the one that HAD TO BE GOOD

Dendro was new to the game and early Sumeru was gonna be awful for returning players if dendro Traveler was junk… meaning no recouping of players lost to the late 2.X low-content patches

Hydro Traveler, on the other hand, can afford to be low tier. By Fontaine, most players should have decent or even good hydro options… even if they're free to play

The same will likely be true for pyro & cryo Traveler. I don't think we should be expecting another strong Traveler like we got with dendro

  13. Honestly I am highly dissapointed in his kit. First of all I was hoping for him to be healer, at least support. This way he could have a chance to be flexible and even work well with my Kaveh. But…he's neither of this all. He looks like weak main DPS and I personally don't need any new dps's. Too bad.

  14. Tbh the MC doesn't even have to be good damage wise, just serviceable, having a good kit that makes sense, has a clear goal, with useful passives is enough. I don't get how doing that would discourage people from pulling chars on banners.

Edit: if his skill and burst have a decently low hydro application ICD then it could be decent ig

  15. If I can make Electro & Anemo Traveler work in Spiral Abyss, I can do the same for Hydro Traveler.

I like that they are giving Hydro Traveler an on-field kit this time, but damn. I'm hoping the damage numbers are decent at least, Torrent's tickle damage aside. If the scaling is decent, that water gun might be something nice.

I also hope that the HP drain from Suffusion counts as "taking" damage, because then Vourukasha's Glow could very well work.

  16. You did said purely Meta perspective. So I would play the game casually like how it is meant to be. But of course playing with Meta has it fun in its own way, go for it, play how every you like. Just make one that you know you won't regret.

  17. The one thing that hydro traveler has going for them is their hydro is pneuma aligned. Supposedly certain enemies will need the proper aligned damage between pneuma and Ouisa to stun them. Since there are rumors the wind magician will be a freebie and we know shes ouisa aligned on her damage, its very possible traveler will be our only budget pneuma unit for a bit so we are incentivized to use traveler or pull new fontaine units that are pneuma aligned.

  18. Whenever it comes to story, world or archon quests I always main the Traveller as the "Traveller" represents "us" in the story. Hence, regardless of how bad their kit may be I'll still use the Traveller. I plan on bringing her with Nahida, Raiden and Zhongli. They would make the Traveller a powerful sniper and deal good damage.
Dendro Traveller was so far the best. And I found out that as along as you focus on energy recharge and elemental mastery, as well as level up the talents, Traveller will be good support no matter if she is geo, anemo or even electro.

  19. No thanks. I’ll just keep him as Dendro. I literally have Mona, Childe, Yelan, C6 Xingqiu, and Ayato. He’s literally pointless as a hydro imo lol.

  20. The copium in me hopes this kit will synergise with the new regions characters. But the realist thinks dendro traveler was the exception rather than how hoyo was going to treat them going forwards.

  21. I'm kind of mad, as I really lack a hydro character (only started 2 months ago and only got c0 barbara and c0 candice) to build my hyperbloom team.
I really hoped I could finally use the traveller for something useful ….

  22. Well, Travelers kit for every element is designed to be bad, because if it is too good – then what is the point to pull for other characters? So, no surprise here. It would have been more alarming if his kit looks too good – that would mean we are missing something.

  23. The fact that all these bonehead content creators and the "community" relate everything to the least mesningfull thing in this game, the spiral abyss, makes my head hurt from the stupidity. Meta is a fancy way of saying you are a cultist who does not think for yourself. If you did you would realize the spiral abyss is all but meaningless, with pitiful rewards and simply being a speed runners wet dream wrapped in all the familiar repetition and overall uselessness.
