  1. I came back to the game for Natlan. The preview made it look like the game was gonna do better. It is all the same but worse. Sumeru still peak to me, and somehow they did worse than Inazuma and Fontain for Natlan.

  2. Genshin Impact, the Ancient Fantasy game, releases a region that seemingly would have the most primitive culture.
    It has sci-fi motorcycles, living pixel art creatures, DJ on rollerblades, jetpacks, and flying plasma rifles.

    Meanwhile, Honkai Star rail, the Space Fantasy game, is releasing a region that looks like ancient greece.

    TBH I don't know how one should reply to that, like, they made characters that make it easy to travel around the map, it should'nt be that big of a problem (I think it would be regardless) if I wouldn't have another game who made a gun drone available so that you don't have to use pistol characters by default for puzzle solving. One game made you require to get characters to ease QoL while another made you avoid having to require specific characters for QoL? I don't need to watch the rest of the video honestly, I'm sold. what's the reply to that? "Let it go already"? "That's old news…"? "That's the only thing everyone keeps complaining about, keep crying."?

    I quite enjoy your biweekly "Natlan ruined the game" videos and I think you're getting better. At least only half of the points are nitpicky and irrelevant to those of us that enjoy the game. Your Kuro fans would still like the video if you focused entirely on stuff that mattered. Power creep doesn't exist, the Abyss enemies are harder because much of the player base has like 50-60 characters and most players don't even try to get 36 stars anyway. It's never been their focus… I wish it was, but it's still fun so whatever.

    It's crazy to me that so many people point to the exploration outside of Natlan being trash. Remember when Inazuma/Sumeru/Fontaine came out? Did we get some magical ability to fly around Monstadt/Liyue? Nah bro. We never did… I don't remember endless complaints about Hoyo not adding tri-leaf/electro grapple points to all the previous nations. That's because nobody gives a shit about those places anymore, they're just being used as talking points. Even if it was true that everyone and their mom loved exploring the caves in Sumeru, isn't it fucking insanely awesome that you can now skate up walls or fly or surf on the water???? Like cmon isn't 2nd place still pretty good (imma be real I still want a gadget that refills phlogiston, but it's like the 30th thing down on the list in terms of importance)

  5. It's lore accurate. I'm not trying to defend hoyo, but it makes sense.
    We are in the MIDDLE OF THE WAR, were the power of Phlogiston is being used to protect the nation.

    Not even the citizens of Natlan can go outside their nations, because they'll start to lose memories and they can't use the power.

    Maybe, after the war, things will change. We will see.

  6. I feel you on the powercreep in Fontaine/Natlan. I might have put up with it when it was just Fontaine… but then when those units started getting powercrept… I was pretty much done. I stopped pulling for new units because it doesn't matter who you pull and build because they're irrelevant in less than a year.

    Let's give a quick timeline: character drops in 5.1. It takes up to a month to get to level 90, level 90 weapon, the right artefacts to +20, 8/8/8 talents (or higher). If you miss the 50/50 and you're not a whale, then maybe they rerun in 3-4 months if you're lucky, so let's say 5.5. That character is good until now until like 6.1, which is in like 4 months… so basically you do months of saving, one month of work just so you can have that character playable for like 3-4 months… no thanks.

    The whole point of investing in characters is to future proof them, but if the future is that they're irrelevant by design, then what's the point? Why don't I just take two years off the game and when I come back every new character I pull is going to be the best and they can trivialize all the old content?

    Genshin MC journey started to reunite with the sibling, Fatuis were bad, Abyss was an organization

    Nowadays, what's left? What's the purpose of the MC?

    The abyss sibling got what it wanted, no need to save it, and the MC feels a little betrayed already
    Fatuis are no longer the villains,
    Abyss order is no more, just abyss

    That story is more prone to become another Honkai at this point, another recycled world,
    low effort writing because they will use an already built IP

I think WuWa ruined Genshin for me in some ways: lower time commitment, QOL isn't locked to 5* limited characters, the combat allows for more skill expression, and the story beats are shorter, but more meaningful. Lots of astrite for pulls in every patch. Weapon banner is guaranteed at 80 wishes. I've bought every single battle pass and astrite subscription to support WuWa because I think it should win. Also your money goes further in this game. the largest astrite purchase with bonus is over 80 pulls, which guarantees you a weapon or character 50/50.

    Meanwhile Genshin is going backwards: Natlan has damage and exploration powercreep, there are fewer and fewer free pulls in the game right as powercreep gets worse, and the story… somehow it's getting longer and more boring in Natlan. I have written essays on how poorly told 5.1's story was (and people have fought me on this). The weapon banner is still 25/75 or 50/50 or whatever is up with Genshin. Your money doesn't go very far – even buying the biggest bundle Hoyo sells does not guarantee you a character or weapon (which is a joke when you think about it – you're paying $130 CAD, but f**k you, you're not getting the character you want.)

    Anyway, I still think the land of Teyvat and Genshin's music is great. I actually like the combat / the elemental reaction system, but that's kind of all it has going for it now because WuWa is going everything else better by a mile.

I love mualani as much as everyone but even i can agree on the whole "oh your shits completely useless outside of your nation….fuck" lol like am gettin muvika cuz i need me a pyro dps but am already getting ready to be passive aggressive cuz that flying motorcycle is gonna be useless outside of natlan….booooo!   11. I donโ€™t mind the limited mobility outside natlan to make it comparable to current characters. Kinich is still great everywhere.

    But I agree natlan feels so off itโ€™s too much put into one culture and itโ€™s just too much plus the random tech that makes no sense.

  12. Worst thing of all, they have such technology, but in TIME OF WAR while people die left and right, they send you around with a fucking slow air balloon. Make it make sense… And people still find excuses to defend this crap.

  13. The entire Natlan patch felt like "we need to create or exacerbate problems that doesn't or have already existed and sell the solution to it." Fontaine's Ousia and Pneuma are not as restrictive, but the phlohiston/nightsoul mechanics and how Natlan characters only works optimally with Natlan units is atrocious.

    Powercreep is expected in gacha, but what they did with Natlan including exploration pay wall and the noghtsoul system is absolutely disgusting.

  14. Theatre event is fucking stupid. Not only i have to build 22 characters wasting resources on ones i dont like to play their weapons talents. Worse part is the rng of character obtained when compainion is wished on. Genshit has become a greedy predator. Glad i did not put any money on this shit game. And fucking worse is playing for 4 years and only once winning a 5050. Ohh if any have a thought if i am playing it i only do quests n events and exit this shit.

  15. The thing is its not too bad having the natlan characters exploration nerfed in the previous areas since many people 100% those areas. However, Schneznaya is next year and Natlan characters will lose their value past Natlan then, so who in their right mind greenlighted this mechanic??? I get their greedy asf and maybe the Cryo region has its own exploration characters but thats really not a good idea no matter how you slice it.

  16. Fun new mechanics, but typical Genshin devs giving something nice with the exploration but then inexplicably being so damn stingy with it.

    I stopped caring after they did the bait and switch with the artifacts. 1 craft per set every 42 days is so damn restrictive and controlling. Doesn't help the story has felt fragmented and strange along with narrative breaking designs with a motorcycle. So stupid. She could have ridden a flame spirit or anything else.

    So nice that there's so many other good games in the space now that I don't feel like I have nothing else to play.

  18. I 100% agree that Natlan doesn't feel like Genshin, and I am disappointed in all dimensions (characters, story, world, music). However, the other 5 nations and special maps still exist and thus the game isn't ruined

  19. There are many things I disagree with in this video

    Powercreep is present in Genshin from day one. This is a gacha, and if you don't make progressively stronger units nobody is pulling for them. However, Genshin's endgame is not balanced around the strongest units, so as long as your team is well built you shouldn't have any issues (people still clear the abyss with 4-stars). Generally speaking, the characters you mentioned are sidegrades, meaning they either work in different comps or, when they can work in the same teams, they can be used together

    Natlan characters have exclusive exploration mechanics, but saying those characters are needed for exploration is just wrong, since saurians exist. Also, yes, the characters only work well inside of Natlan, but by the same logic people should also complain about how outside of Fontaine you can't go underwater and once you deplete your stamina you drown

    Archons are not universal. Each single one of them works in a specific situation, and with Mavuika is not going to be different

    Lastly, saying "it's a 5 billion dollars company, so they should give out more rewards" doesn't really mean anything, and it's just a statement anybody can agree with. I mean, you want less resources? I don't think so. The point is that they could, but they're not forced to do so. And complaining about it in YouTube is not going to solve anything: if people are unhappy with the game, they should just quit. However, this opens up another problem: if people aren't quitting, it means they like the game as it currently stands, which also means that feedback is not as negative as people here are making it out to be
