I don't think they really did listen to us. Feel more like they trying to act like they do care about global player. All they really did was copy and paste from another game from Hoyo games. Like HSR.
The changes look good to me, now if only the would listen about fixing Dehya.
qol updates is nothing new. literally every update tries to improve it. still no real changes in the core of the game. it will always stay as a gacha story game with abyss (theather is just an abyss 2.0)
It only took one good game in the same genre to shock them to the core, next years will be interesting for sure
10:50 correct me if I’m wrong, but another possible way they can circumvent the false advertising stuff, is by keeping the characters “limited” in a loose sense. If I’m not mistaken, characters that were advertised s being limited can still be added to the standard banner, so long as they are only there for a set time, thereby allowing hoyo to essentially rotate which characters are present in the 5 star banner. I’m sure there are other factors and things that I am not considering, but I would at least like to bring this point up as food for thought.

5:20 The quantity of sanctifying elixir may still not matter. The lower left corner of that artifact screen still shows there may be heavy limits. It might very well be effectively once per month. And, no, you would not be entitled to thinking this should have been here earlier lol. As a live service game, we all know, or at least should by this point even if Genshin is your first gacha game, that these RNG shenanigans are to prolong playtime and prevent bouncing off the game. It was never meant to be a fun interaction. It is something you engage with but don't get angry enough to stop playing.
Seeing Da wei speech after the Livestream makes me think how da wei and the genshin are confused since they are one of the pioneers on 3d gacha game (eg honkai). Seeing the competition, the anger and trust of players and the old genshin producer stepping down and making the company feel threaten, finally listening and grateful makes a great improvement.
I dont see this as genshin doing more. They could have done this 3 years ago. This is just delivering backlog.
Even the Natlan update looks bad for me, they just put in a reduced version of pokemon or palword in it, I will not be surprised if the new mechanics will be insignificant to the version itself. The only good thing going on is only archon quest story and nothing else.
They just need to keep it consistent.
Consistency will make it a trend, rather than an event.
So new players that jump in after 5.0 are gonna accumulate way way WAY more rewards doing all the quests and stuff than us day 1 players got when we did them. I feel like we're owed some substantial compensation for that..

Converting artifact to EXP items is a request I, a primarily PlayStation player, have repeatedly taken time to request in their surveys. Finally, I won't feel like I have to decide which artifacts to upgrade just because I'm losing inventory space to all these redundant four-star artifacts. Now, if there can be a quick way to exclude some artifacts, like Instructor's and Exile…
we shouldnt drop our guard yet. remember that they only doing this just because they got competitors. if their competitors cant catch up or fail, they will surely revert back to their old greedy attitude
Hoyo played this hand as long as they could, and used their other games to test these variations without messing with their flagship game before committing to any permanent changes.

too bad I don't care anymore, it's too late. these changes should've been done much sooner, are you kidding me? as if they didn't hear all the community feedback. the cynical part of me wants to say that they held off adding QoL updates in case they got in a controversy, but maybe it was just laziness.
add a variety of skin tones ffs it's not that difficult, are u telling me all the playable characters, in the very different environments have pale skin? puh-lease.
unless they add that and fun endgame (theater is not), I'll keep genshin deleted. I don't want to hate the game, but the endless disappointments so far are making it very difficult, yknow, as difficult as adding darker skin tones
I hope for the next update, they would do this:
No more stamina usage while exploring. Climbing and swimming can use stamina but running should not.
Artifact chances reworked. Crits should be prioritised not defense/hp. Also no more condensed resin cap. If they really want to add the cap, make it to 8 or more. Five is just not enough and it is really annoying to go back and forth just to craft that.
Speaking of domain. Maybe they should add like "how many times are you going to challenge this domain " thing so that it doesn't feel repetitive.
It's good to see that Hoyo is finally listening to players and hoping that they'll continue to do that.

Personally, I never had any issue with the game. Calling all the boons we get "redemption" make you sound pretentious – ignorant, even – of the fact that it's a FREE game to begin with and is still booming in both profit and active player count regardless. Making an already good thing better is NOT redemption.
Just my two cents btw.

14:26 is a total lie you can see how 4.8 had less primogems that older years, also look at 4.6 chest they just quit rewards to leave them in another update
Hey Vars! Great video! Just one thing you didn't touch on was the changes to the 50/50 probabilities for the limited banners, wondering what your thoughts on that were as well?

As much as i like all the QoL changest etc. i fear that these changes to the wish system and the increased amount of freemogems is just them softening the ground for when they'll drop a third limited banner per phase or always getting two new characters per version but giving enough free pulls to only get one so you are forced to pay if you want both, basically i fear it could end up like when they added the Imaginarium Theater, where they were like "look how many primogems you can get now!!!" but didin't mention that they doubled the amount of time the abyss takes to reset and so the amount of primogems we get remained basically the same.
so as much as i want to belive that this is just them finally listening and making our life easier, knowing Mihoyo's record i can't let my guard down so easily.
also the free five star per year would have been so much better for veteran players if they simply added the option to get a weapon instead (and maybe add Thiggnari and Dehya's weapons too)
