Genshin Impact Voice Actors Have Not Been Paid SINCE Patch 3.3?!

It has been brought to my attention that multiple Genshin Impact voice actors have NOT received compensation for their work dating back to as far as December of 2022!

  1. Hoyo should change their EN dubbing studio after this. Voice actors have already stricken Formosa (and several other companies) in 2016-2017.

    Edit: grammar

  2. Hoyoverse is a billion dollar company they literally don’t need our money anymore they can just invest it and have income in the hundreds of thousands and make millions monthly to keep up with the servers and pay there workers. Unless hoyoverse has bad money managing skills.

  3. Though it is no fault of MiHoYo themself but maaan, ain't it a very bad reputation for the majority that only hear about what happen without doing any research, which is quite common.

  4. I had my views ready for this before I even watched the vid, and there was a disturbing bot post saying "let's watch the vid before we post".

My view on VA for genshin is mainly that I dislike the way the English VA is directed and scripted. But, during the special broadcasts, when you see the VA's hosting and all that, they're obviously nice people, enthusiastic, with their hearts in the right place …

Yippee !!! I posted !!! Before watching the vid in its entirety !!!

  5. It's not about fault, it's about responsibility. Hoyoverse is responsible of its subcontractors.
Targetting Hoyoverse is not wrong, especially when you can not obtain reactions from a subcontractor.
Targetting victims with some rhetoric shenanigans to absolve Hoyoverse from its legal responsibility is either clueless or malevolent.

  6. From what I saw so far it’s Paimon and Kazuha’s friend voice actors that have stated that they have not been paid.

This does not include the other languages nor the rest of the EN voice cast…

Regardless they should be paid there salary… but something seems off that only those 2 have been confirm not to be paid so far.🤔…

Note: I don’t have Twitter so I’m only going based on video info…

  7. Seems legitimate that HoYoverse would use the term "urged the studio"
That is corporate term for not giving a F about the VA's.

If they threatened the studio with a lawsuit, now that would be actually caring for the VA's… But "urge" is just a way to say HoYoverse's hands are clean.

  8. Changing studios will not happen overnight, especially if HYV wants to maintain the same EN VAs (Formosa holds their contracts and VAs are not HYV employees). Ideally they switch voice recording agency to the one that does HSR.

I hope HYV burns bridges and drops a massive stinker on Foroma's reputation since HYV has historically treated their VAs well. Let's hope changing studios doesn't also result in any VAs getting replaced..

  9. A lot of people in the community are starting to act like experts about this stuff when most of them didn't even know Formosa existed until this week.

People are quick to assume Hoyo's statement means they're switching studios, but I doubt they will be very willing to switch studios for Genshin at this point (or at least any time soon). It's a live service game on a rigid update schedule with over 60 playable characters (and growing) that has a new region with voiced archon quests coming out in about a month; and the characters' VA's for that region having already announced their roles in the game. They would have to rehire everyone at a different studio (assuming they even can), write all new contracts, and quite possibly re-record a good portion of dialogue. When you look at it from their point of view, they're just in too deep at this point for two actors (at least that we know of) not getting paid on time (which is quickly being corrected by them from the sound of it) to force such a drastic measure. Not saying it's okay they went without payment for so long. Just saying that switching studios at this point is not something they will prioritize any time soon.

  11. I think Hoyo should cut the voice actors a nice big fat check, and sue the studio for stiffing the voice actors, because they have an amazing game with an amazing story properly voice acted to convincingly draw in anyone into their world.

As a painter I rely solely on my talent to supplement my livelihood, this is insane, and should not be put up with by anyone on either side.

  12. imagine being the studio who has contracts with cod and league of legends and deferring payment for over half a year.

Let's wait for there response but I don't see the studio is innocent. We'll see when it happens. Hopefully hoyoverse finds an alternate way to pay the voice actors if the studio refuses to do so even though they have already been paid by hoyoverse to pay the va long ago. Sorry for the scuffed sentence I just woke up and saw this video
