  1. If you want accurate region characters then let’s do this…

Ayato, Ayaka and Kokomi need to have black hair… when have you seen naturally light blue/ white young haired characters native to Japan? This also applies to Kazuha and Ningguang (yeah I know she is from Liyue) … unless they are albino this should not exist in that region.

Yoimiya should not be native to Inazuma… she is blond, which means that all of her family should mostly have black hair if they are native to Inazuma.

Xinyan and Kaeya need to be white skin since one is from a Chinese region and the other one is from a region that has no sunlight.

Eula cannot have blue hair.. she needs to have blond or brown hair.

Chongyun has to have black hair unless they have explained that his hair turned white due to his abilities (haven’t done his companion quest)

Cyno cannot have white hair… it has to be black hair…. Unless he has early gray hair or like Chongyun changed color due to his abilities.

You see my point… it’s a game it’s not going to be completely accurate to the region…

Would I love more people with color skin, yes… but again it’s being blown out Of proportion…

Edit: let’s also add to the fact that most of the characters have perfect bodies with no excess of fat in them… yeah these characters are fictional it’s not going to be accurate most of the time…

  2. As a follow black person it’s kind of a big deal like I know they make darker skin characters, but they’re still pretty pale. The one thing the people need to understand is are if you’re are trying to represent a culture or country you need to respect it and yes, I guess you can say dear respecting it, but they’re not really adding that much dark skin into the game. I know this just pixels but it’s a big of a deal, I don’t think that is racist because I’m pretty is not if the were I’m pretty sure they would do way worse things but in my opinion, they’re kinda acting lazy in the skin color apartment.
(sorry if you see spelling mistakes)

  3. You see, even chinese players, who are so notorious for being so ignorant about representation and racial issues, found those characters designs strange. For a region taking direct inspiration from pre-colonial Latin America and Africa, those characters are way too pale.

  4. The weirdest thing is how NPCs have varied skin colors, but the gacha characters barely…
Just look at Lunja, it's not like Hoyoverse doesn't know how to put darkskin in the game, so why not on the pullable characters too?

  5. The black community makes up 0.04% of the Chinese population. While it would be nice to have more diversity in the characters most Chinese people haven't seen a black person in real life. It's kind of a miracle there is one dark skinned character in the game.

  6. I'm not really bothered that much by the cast, would I prefer it if Xilonen was darker skin? absolutely, however, if you want to name a character after an African supreme deity then you better make it right, so out of the entire cast, Ororon is the worst in terms of representation.

  7. People always excusing that its a game or fiction forget that they literally had Yunjin, a bibically ACCURATE representation and depiction of Chinese Opera and Culture. And you dare to say the game does not have relations to real world inspiration? Hypocrites and racists.

  8. The people who always see things based on only skin colors are racist themselves 😂
Yeah let's just ignore scenery, food, costume, music,….
These pixels are not real and not historical. So they can be whatever skin tone they want.
You guys talk like there is only black skin in Africa, latin Amerrica,… 😂 Have you even see the skin color demographic there haha. Stereotype racist cry babies

  9. I'm not against those representations. But I hope they understand that these are works of fiction, they don't need to be entirely accurate. . . . People these day always focus on characters' skin color more than personality and background . .

  10. As someone who’s born in South America which I’m half white & Latino, I accept the designs a few countries here has people who have white skin colour even though they’re Spanish. Plus I think the meaning of racism of how I see it, is hatred towards your own species in the animal kingdom which is human it’s not about skin colour at all.

  11. I just gonna be real, the consensus of majority of players are not aligned with the consensus with Twitter. Since the YouTube Natlan trailer never got the same treatment how everyone treating Assassins Creed Shadows. It is basically Sumeru all over again. Most players don't really care much thing like this in a pure fantasy game. So I kind of felt social media are mad over nothing. lol

  12. Genshin is the biggest game there is rn and one of the most influential. If they can make Yun Jin be the love letter to Chinese opera, the can give the same respect to Sumeru and Natlan. We know it's just a game, but when that games business model is influencing other games/fans to follow its steps its starting to hurt people irl. Especially big genshin fans who are starting to hurl insults towards poc. Calling us dramatic when we see our culture being disrespected. It's a slap to the face especially when it's been more than 3yrs
