I think you missed the first first trailer where kiana uses the giant cat paws summon thingy to fight a jet
Ah yes depression impact
One thing about that introduction video at the beginning, the guy say you are the Captain of Hyperion and you lead these valkyries, but actually you as Captain dont actually exist in the main story.
You do exist in event stories that people refer to as "Captain-verse"
Welcome to Honkai Impact 3rd… the game where we go to destroy our hearts & souls…
After every animated short of HI3… we need to play a few archon quests in Genshin Impact to heal our hearts & souls haha…
You gotta try watch these in Japanese too! The CN VAs are awesome. The JP VAs are awesome too! Seele's video & Lament of the Fallen featuring two of the most iconic VAs in Seiyuu history. Also, Lament of the Fallen was like the most awesome confession of love ever! "This worlds means nothing to me… WITHOUT YOU IN IT!" Wow… just wow… Raiden Mei vs Raiden Shogun voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro.
48:12 the bat is the certified kaslana weapon since the first generation 50.000 years ago, they re so strong that they can destroy honkai with a mere bat
Final Lesson gets me everytime. The serum was supposed to be for Himeko herself since it should have been her last mission. But she sacrificed herself for Kiana.
I love Honkai's story, but it's definitely a big multimedia thing to get into. Like Genshin the official youtube has a lot of must sees but then there's also a significant amount of manga and visual novels and event animations to see besides the game. That said, it's all very rewarding and some of my favourite characters of all time.
Lament of the fallen better in JP dub in my opinion
i dont know about genhsin but honkai is dark dead flag body moment funny not really story kinda game thing tho
If you enjoyed those animated shorts, you should give the in-game lore a try, it's amazing.
If you do follow this up with a part 2, more of those honkai operation center videos are around to give you a catchup on the context for some of the character arcs too, You'll probably really need it for Fu Hua and Mei's stories. lol
Highly recommend the prequel manga series, if you want to know more about the past. You can read them online.
'Reburn' is non-canon, as it's not part of the game story. Instead, it's more a concept video designed to sell Kiana's Moonbeam Knight battlesuit, which was her most powerful one at the time. Her QTE Switch-In skill is the lightwings barrage she used against the mech, Arhat (also called 'Arahato' in game events). Her Ultimate transforms her pistols into a railgun, which she fires from an airborne position at an angle. Arhat can be presumed to have been sent by Mei, and 'ich liebe dich' means 'I love you' in German. There one of the arc phrases of the game for reasons to be revealed if you play the game.
Moonbeam is a decent enough Physical damage unit, but it's only best used if you can swap her in in battle, and not solo. It's easily outdone by Herrscher of the Void as well as Void Drifter, Valkyrie Ranger's augment core mode. You could unlock Moonbeam for free through the starter events, but there are other, better units you could choose instead. And honestly, I don't see anyone using it anymore. Especially since Hoyo decided to give new players a free HoV.
Hoyo-Mix never misses with the music. This one's a banger too. Highly recommend you check out the concerts once you're caught up, as they do contain spoilers. But so do the canon animations since they're snapshot moments from climactic scenes in the game. That's why I do not recommend watching them separately if you intend on playing the game.
'Bronya' is another non-canon cinematic. It's mostly just cool, but it also hints at Seele. While some of Bronya's battlesuits can 'shuttle' through enemies as she evades, most of them just have Project Bunny 19C putting up a shielded arm to guard. Bronya's early battlesuits are all slower, but good at gathering. I tend not to use them, though. I like Haxxor Bunny for her speed, and she's great Ice Support. But there are getting to be more and more options. Including two coming out with the next two versions.
You can read Azure Waters to learn about Bronya's past.
It's impossible to explain Kiana's position in 'Will of the Herrscher' without spoilers. Suffice it to say she was not herself. 'Sirin' is the other personality's name. Highly recommend reading Second Eruption to learn more about her.
Most of Anti-Entropy's mechs are unmanned. You can unlock some mechs to use in the 'Schicksal HQ' open world map, including the Titans you see here. Although I like Shicksal's Baldr Blade better.
You didn't specifically ask, but the reason Mei doesn't fight back is because she's too weak to at this point. Play to find out why.
Also, first cinematic with a song with English lyrics, although not the first English song in the game. Kinda surprised, speaking of language, you didn't turn the subtitles on.
This cinematic caps off either Chapter 7 or 8, forget which.
We actually call it 'Depression Impact.'
'Final Lesson' is not only the end of Chapter 9, but also a huge climactic turning point in the game's story.
'Final Lesson' is considered the true entry point to HI3 , and the point where we say 'welcome to Honkai Impact 3rd , fellow-Captain.' It also demonstrates how important the context surrounding the CG is. For example, missing is the fact that all Valkyries use Honkai energy that continuously corrupts them in order to fight the Honkai. They're equipped with Stigmata (which act like Artifacts in the game) that give the Valk both compatibility with Honkai energy and resistance to its corruption. But not immunity. Most people are not born with Stigmata, but they can be implanted with less effective artificial ones. Murata Himeko has artificial stigma, while Kiana, being a Kaslana, has a natural set that's more effective.
Valks, even those at St. Freya, are taught that when they see their comrades begin to turn or fall, they're supposed to kill them to prevent it. A sign of the corruption is the glowing red lines, which is called 'Honkai Cascade.' And for awhile before this, Himeko had been suffering from signs of her corruption, meaning she was likely going to die in weeks at most even if she fought normally. And this was far from a normal fight, against a powerful Herrscher, using a battlesuit that was effectively the last Divine Key weapon created in the Previous Era, and powered by that era's Herrscher of Flame's core — so it's understandable that under all that power, the Godsbane prototype suit broke.
At the start of this CG, we saw Himeko holding the completed Honkai suppressant serum. She had a choice: use it on herself and lose her abilities to fight as a Valkyrie but be saved, or use it on Kiana on the slim chance it would help her get back control from Sirin. We know what Himeko chose.
Himeko will live on in our hearts, in the Vermillion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit in the game, in Honkai: Star Rail , and hopefully as the Pyro Archon Murata in Genshin .
Also, the song, 'Nightfall,' is one of the easiest way to make Captains cry.
'Cyberangel ZERO Exception' takes place in the Sea of Quanta, where Seele was lost for many years. To explain, think of it as the place where bubble worlds float or sink once they've been pruned from the Imaginary Tree. Again, you can read Azure Waters to get Bronya's and Seele's background.
Critical details here include Bronya shattering alternate versions of herself to reach the Core of Reason, Seele coming to find her as a butterfly to help purify the Core so she can use it, and Project Bunny 19C's massive upgrade. Bronya's had the mech as a support for a long time, but it always looked incomplete and kinda janky. Here, at least, it looks complete. Also, as a result of things that happened in Azure Waters , Bronya needs prosthetics on her legs to walk, otherwise she floats with help from Project Bunny. She also has a hard time emoting, although she does still feel, so her emoting here is a really big deal. Note as well that the prosthetics are gone when she's using her Herrscher powers.
I think you need to give another watch and listen to this one, because they used the music perfectly. Which, by the way, is sung by Bronya's CH voice actor, Hanser. Who is also a VTuber. She also has sung it in both concerts. Song's called 'Cyberangel,' and I don't know if you remember, but in the PV where Bronie's in the bar, she hums to it.
The song in 'Seele' is called 'Dual Ego.' The way Seele gets injured in this one feels extremely raw and real. You can see the moment her fingers get scrapped raw.
Both aspects of Seele are officially called 'Seele.' But because of some skill names and details on Stygian Nymph, the battlesuit Seele unlocks in this CG, fans refer to the blue one as 'Saule,' and the red one as 'Veliona.' So Starchasm Nyx is considered as what happens when Veliona is fully unleashed. Interestingly, while all versions of Seele are Quantum-type, Swallowtail Phantasm and Stygian Nymph are both Physical. Starchasm Nyx is Ice. Players unlock an SP through the Starter events.
It's not quite accurate to think of Veliona as 'evil' and Saule as 'good.' Saule is the host, while Veliona acts like the brakes, stopping Seele from being able to unleash the full power residing inside her Stigma. At the same time, though, Veliona will do anything for Saule's happiness, so we have her willing to empower Seele and help her out whenever she can. Most characters in the story don't know about the second personality, but those closest to Seele certainly do.
The Chapter 11 cinematic single-handedly makes me cry every time I hear Amazing Grace now. Lookit what you've done to me, Hoyo. In-story this is when Kiana unlocks Void Drifter.
The Chapter 15 CG is kinda like an interlude, but it is a fight I'd like to see more of: Kevin, the strongest fighter of the Previous Era, vs Bianka 'Durrandal' Ataegina, the strongest fighter of the Current Era. Top billing right there, even if Kevin's not using his weapon. Though to be fair, it is extremely devastating. Bianka's Spirit summons are called King and Queen, by the way, and she's the only one who can use two. King has a massive sword, so he's for offensive moves. Queen has a big shield, so she's for defense. Also, if you run around the field for a bit with Bright Knight: Excelsis, her jet thrusters will kick in, and she can fly around above the ground.
'Meteoric Salvation' is the end of a long arc where Kiana is struggling constantly for control with Sirin — it's one of the only places where you can get a Bad End. So it's important to see how she's able to use her Herrscher powers at this point, as it also shows how much she's grown.
The bat is a reference to Kiana's main weapon in GunGirlZ , as well as Kaslana tradition at this point. Except in this case it's probably made of the material for HoV's Subspace Lances. I also like her mix of old and newer skills: Neko Charm and Time Fracture are things she's had since her first battlesuit, White Comet. But she's also using HoV's portals, lance, and control over space. And then there's how, when she goes full Herrscher, both her eyes are blue, showing full control at this point, even though she's been bathed in Honkai energy.
And then, at the top when she's about to run out of steam, she friggin headbutts the Honkai bomb. Ha!
Of course, she also facetanks the explosion after, so that's not good. But considering the alternative was to let the bomb detonate in the middle of a densely populated city, the much better alternative.
Visions of Himeko will forever propel us onward, while making us cry.
Song is called 'Starfall.'
'Lament of the Fallen' again showing how important context is. Recommended reading: Escape From Nagazora . I'll try not to spoil anything you can't figure out yourself, encourage you to play the game while I'm at it. This is a climactic scene, of course. But I will say that Mei spends the fight trying to stop Kiana from using Honkai energy at all. And that they're fighting in a place very important to them.
There is a very raw quality to the fight here, and whereas before Mei struggled to even get close to keeping up with Kiana, now she's leading despite all the training Kiana has had from Fu Hua. Here we have a direct reversal to their positions back in 'Will of the Herrscher,' and it's beautifully reflected in how Kiana has to walk up on her platforms instead of down, and here she's hurt instead of acting all imperious. It's beautifully done, and it hurts so much, but in the best way. Hoyo knew exactly what they were doing. Especially with the raw emotion between Mei and Kiana when Mei's breaking free of the lances. The look on Kiana's face when she knows she can't catch up. Wanting to stop her friend from leaving, yet not wanting to harm her.
Also, I wonder how many people notice that in the flashback where Kiana's saving Mei, Kiana's wearing the hairclip that Mei wears in her basic battlesuits.
Song is called 'Honkai World Diva,' and it comes from a similar scene in GunGirlZ . It's sung by Kobayashi Mika, and she actually sings it better live.
Kiana S2
If u think thats sad imagine play & know all the story (o & wait for the chapter 25)
Welcome to the emotional train wreck that is Honkai impact 3rd.
Little tid bit for you about “final lesson”
Major Himeko is actually just Kiana’s instructor, but has know Kiana for a while so she just refers to her as “Aunt Himeko”
At the beginning that blue serum vial was to slow the progress of essentially what is called “Honkai poisoning” (red glowing lines) the which is a valkyries Achilles heel from having their stigmata implants so Himeko was actually dying slowly already. Also as Valkyries their job other than destroying Honkai beasts is to eliminate other Valkyries who have “lost control” of themselves be it friend or loved ones. So at the end when Himeko used the serum to save Kiana and not herself she broke their own cardinal rule as well as giving up her life
Wait until you actually start playing Honkai. With context cinematics will hurt you 1000 times more <3
kiana and mei are best friends. however the community would rather continue to try to push their head cannon of them being lesbians, however if u go against the communitys head cannon. they will crucify u , and unfortunatley that mentality is there as well for the genshin impact characters they try to force their ships
Welcome to the world of depression and internal crying
is the video fastened? i feel something not right lol, like everything is so fast compared how it used to
Goddamn the game devs, they said its a game about love and light and they make nearly everyone dead…. Bronya and mei,… Some live can be count by 2 hands
