Genshin Impact: How Weekly Bosses Work

In this video, I present my reasoning behind whether the bosses we fight every week that require 60 resin are canon or not. I hope you enjoy the video 😀

  1. No wonder Boreas is exceptional to all other trounce domains, as mentioned from the loading screen (not the beginning one), saying that every Monday at 4 AM, every trounce domains' ley lines will be reset, "including" Boreas power

  2. Fun Fact: The Traveler does actually have the talent level up materials you get from weekly bosses as evidenced by the Traveler’s Voicelines where Paimon wants a tail like Gorou’s to which the Traveler pulls out their bag the Tail of Boreas and then Paimon gets little grumpy because of this, afterwards Paimon says that she also wants horns like Ganyu and then the Traveler pulls out the Tusk of Monoceros Caeli out of their bag and Paimon gets even more grumpy.

They most likely also have Signora’s heart as well, so there is a possibility that they ripped it out of her chest or from behind her.

  3. Makes me wonder if the rising difficulty of each new weekly boss also has something to do with the traveler's state of mind

Also the fight with Dvalin being the easiest could be because (in my own theory) the traveler wasn't fighting alone. Even the same being said for azhdaha because chonky boi is canonically stronger than zhongli at his full power

  4. Like you opened up with, the descriptions in the Trounce Domain menus directly state that these are memory recreations of particularly brutal duels the Traveler fought. This video is still a great explanation though.

  5. I get what you're tryina put down.
This game as a whole is figuring out what happened in the past while also experiencing it's current story while it unfolds.
Which explains the disconnect between Cutscene MC vs Gameplay MC.
It also makes sense now why we take Fragile Resin, break it down into Original Resin, and then turn it into Condensed Resin. (Look at their Icons as well, Leaves for Original and Fragile, and the Yggdrasil Tree for Condensed Resin.)

We use the Energy within the Resin to "revitalize Ley Line Blossoms from Ley Line Outcrops or Petrified Trees in Domains" (As stated by Condensed Resin)
Meaning our MC are already technically overpowered (Like Henna Oyajii) in comparison to their Cutscene versions, but we don't remember?? It's like an alternate timeline that we're accessing and the artifacts we receive and keep and level up are the "Oh Yeah!" moments when we realize what we actually utilized to defeat whichever enemy.

As technically the game doesn't really state that we collect artifact pieces off of the bosses once we defeat them so we must have already had them in the past.
    Or
That's just a feature of the Ley Lines that every time we relive those memories the Ley Lines spew out Artifacts when they Blossom. Which would mean we are totally just reliving those fights just to obtain more artifacts from the Ley Lines, and our MC really aren't that strong.

Either way. Since they Ley Lines recharge over time and are basically different branches of history and time, we are able to grow stronger by reliving past events.
Which makes sense since when you are in Artifact Domains the artifacts literally drop from the Petrified Trees… 🤔🤔🤔

So you're telling me these Tree's are frozen in time and we use Resin to access their Artifacts, which explains why there are so many different chances of good/bad rolls because they're all pulled from different timelines.

  6. I knew they were memories since its in the name so i got real mad when someone was like “Oh we fight childe in liyue 500 times a week!” BUT HOW DOES GETTING THE RESOURCES WORK?

  7. So basically the Trouce domains keep the 'events' of what happen in there and re-create it again and again using some kind of 'Phantom' substitute so the Traveler 'may learn something new' as they go back to replay the events again. Interesting…
