Genshin Impact 6 Months Later: Is It Still Good?

How is Genshin Impact after 6 months of not playing the game? We take a quick look and see if it still holds up since its September launch.

Genshin Impact is a massive game that, on its initial launch, was truly magical. But I think we won’t be alone here to say that most people had a honeymoon phase, and the end game became the crossroads for many players. But six months later, picking up Genshin Impact again turned out to be an interesting experience because of a unique combination of traits this game has that we never thought about.

What has changed in Genshin Impact? What’s been added? And how is it for returning players? We go over what we think while playing on the newest update.

  1. I only play from time to time now. I started playing GI for the exploration but I've explored the areas already. Not 100% but enough that I'm satisfied. I hold no interest in advancing the story since it never gripped my attention. Still, a good game no doubt.

  2. Lucky for me, I play casually. Anyone who goes balls-to-the-wall would definitely feel the burn out a lot quicker. I myself have yet to experience any sort of burn out. I turn it on at least every day, but only play more than 5 minutes if there's something I want to do. I still haven't done all story quests and have only maxed out 2 characters so far. I still haven't done a single Hang Out event added in last month's update, either. ^_^;

  3. While Genshin’s endgame is a little slow, for a gacha in its infancy, Genshin definitely has a lot going for it and events are steadily getting better each update.
    Best thing about Genshin is that it never forces you to play for long periods of time so it can always be a fun causal game.

  4. Still wondering as to why it’s not out on Xbox, I would love to try this game out. I did try it on mobile but I really didn’t want to pass the game in a small screen, plus it would make my hand cramp after a short session. My PC isn’t strong enough and with COVID these days I definitely can’t afford to buy another console. Still have that question in my mind as to why it isn’t out on Xbox but everywhere it is available. 🤔

  5. Their doing a good job adding more and more content but there still needs to be more added along with alot more co op activities, An arena type mode with rewards, more bosses, different weapons outside of what we already have when they introduce new characters. I also feel like the main character should have the option to use every weapon, something that sets them apart since this is their story afterall.

  6. Can I remap the O and X button's on the PS4 controller yet, so I'm not constantly selecting things when I want to go back in a menu? If not, I think I'll continue to stay away from the game.

  7. Still good for now, but it'll start being a painful hassle if they keep adding new mini games or game mechanics and grinding materials rather then adding quality story or world updates.
