Tbh I saw this coming and I’m honestly fine with it. Their safety is top priority right now! 2.7 can wait if it means that the staff are well and are safe + it’s not the end of the world if the patch gets delayed.
I’ve been meaning to catch up on other games anyway. They can take their time. There’s better ways to handle times like this than throw death threats at a company with no control over the situation.
Frist of all it is a FREE game… you all should be gratefull to mihoyo, even if you spend nothing in this game you can still enjoy the game and you have no right to complain about delayed update on free game
If you follow games you would know, delay is part of gamer life, Cyberpunk 2077 delayed for years still is a buggy game that's before covid, It is miracle that Genshin only see one delayed version so far.
i’m not surprised that it happened, but at least people can be fucking respectful because people have lost lives and there have been food shortages due to covid in shanghai, and hoyoverse are actual people, living human beings, working their asses off to give us an amazing video game, and i care more about the developers lives then the game because lives are more important than a fictional game. and we don’t even need “apologems or freemogems” because people should be understanding. genshin has been going on since 9/28/2020 and there are so many updates so fucking often. and people are fucking complaining over it, when the updates have been consistent since the beginning. people need to think before they say shit and it’s not the end of the world for us having to wait 2-3 weeks. i hope everyone in shanghai is well and i hope everything gets better soon.
tbh i hope these A-holes not F2P, so at least they paid little bit price, just a tiny bit for not have enough money to save some of their poor brain cell.😤

Unlike the anniversary feud where Mihoyo really did bad on the communication side. This delay is very different than that there is something wrong in china and something political too where innocent people are getting dragged in and starving. The delay won’t even affect the players it will give hem more time to save I don’t see the problem why people are whining. They should learn how to respect when it is needed.
They said "Wait for information on anniversary rewards" too lol
But yeah, I get that it's really bad living in Shanghai in these moments…
Hope they just realize that most people know already that despite constant updates, the current content in Genshin is a gigantic ocean not deep enough to cover your toes.
Lockdowns happens company’s can’t help when the country locks down. I don’t mind delays as I’m not expecting it. It’s a video game peoples life’s matter more then that. There’s no need to get rude over things out of their hands. I’m happy with just chilling and playing or reading other things as I was feeling like I only play Genshin, so burnt out so a nice break while not missing anything is good. I can do my daily’s then enjoy the rest of my day b4 bed and work.
Delay = more time = better game/content
No delay/rushed = not enough time = bad game/content

To cover the delay its so easy to just copy & paste an event they already done before, they get easy job there xd
Guys, I am currently in Shanghai and the situation here is pretty bad. The local gov has shut down all sort of business and supply chain here since late March. The best Hoyoverse can do is to ask developers to work at home which can be very inefficient. So please be patient. Leave me a comment and I am more than happy to share some info about what's happening in Shanghai. Stay safe!
这次上海疫情这么严重两方面原因，上海政府处理不及时，还有人大量收够食物抬高价格，现在米哈游公司人应该都是居家办公，用不了他们自己的魔改引擎（改的很厉害的引擎）还有一些加密文件，工程进度肯定是被拉下来了，中国区这边节奏很厉害，虽然国外肯定也是有节奏的，但是肯定没有中国区这么厉害，挺羡慕国外这种氛围的，你敢站出来说话，佩服你的勇气，希望你不会被从中作梗的人冲，祝好运（希望谷歌翻译给力，能传达我的意思）

The Genshin community has always been this toxic. When the 1 year anniv came and the people were disappointed at the awards, the game's rating on Google Play and App Store went down in a matter of few days with the dead qiqi emote being spammed on discord and the mihoyo forum website.
This has also been the case when the game first came out as people, namely somebody with the name Laurel(they had a lot of accounts which I assume to be bots because the comments had been spammed on nearly all Arknights videos that were somewhat popular) or something like that on youtube, would shit on other games like Arknights. Arknights is a tower defense gacha game if you don't know and to this day, it is simply one of the best gacha story games. When Genshin came out around 8 months after the launch of the Arknights global server, people immediately migrated over to Genshin and started babbling about "who tf plays fucking arktrash that's a shit ass game". The same thing happened on the launch of Alchemy Stars and tbh AS is a mid game really.
Anyways, the same people who shat on other games when Genshin came out are the same people who were toxic on the anniversary and now. If you are so annoyed by an update getting postponed a few weeks use that time to fucking get a life.
Sumeru is not delayed. 2.7 will just be shorter.

Thank you for talking about this topic. It was disheartening and there really didn't need to be this much fuss in regards to the 2.7 delay.
I remember being so frustrated seeing some of the replies that I had to move away from the screen to calm down and recollect my faith in humanity. It really didn't help that when someone mentions not needing to give out compensation due to the situation being difficult for the people there, they'd be riddled with the typical "big company = bad, it's only digital currency" spiel or slight variations of "you don't deserve the primos then." They completely miss the point of the original comments intent and refuse to listen/keep an open mind to what others say
I appreciate how well informed and sympathetic you are! I don't want to generalize but I often get really disappointed with gamer english speaking community and how ignorant and entitled they can be. It is exactly as you said, Genshin Impact is awesome and as a fan you can be disappointed that the update is delayed but there are tons of people behind that game with real life problemas and as you mentioned, China is having major lockdowns. It shouldn't be necessary to say that it'd be nice if we could spare some sympathy to Genshin workers and everyone in Shanghai.

im ok with it being delayed due to saftey.. however dam i wish they also just fixed the game when they get back. it feels so bad to play now and every day i lose motivation to even login, and those people who are writing those disgusting things are just extremely unsatisfied with the game and its state. so i partially understand them. theres a reason why genshin is bleeding interest, but theres lines that should never be crossed. i also feel bad for the people of china especially with how dogshit their government is being and always has been. especially when u see food thats been donated just sat out to spoil and not reaching the hands of those who need it and are starving
I don't understand how people can be selfish like that, we don't need compensation, or even a full update to know what's going on. They work, they have familly, they are human. Even without the trouble they face right now everyone should be fine with it when a game say "Sorry, it will be delay" because they need more time, no matter the reason. They. Need. Time. And support from the people for who they invest this time too.

Honestly I don't mind delay. I am too busy lately to focus on another update and I am skipping all 2.7 banners so it's fine by me

From what I have noticed, the people complaining about the delay are the twitter frogs and average reddit lvl 10 white knights. The people everyone should ignore and forget about. Every time I look at anything to do with the Genshin community I want to vomit because of how awful the majority of people are. I'm almost ashamed to even be assosiated with Genshin anymore because of how psychotically idiotic people have become. Literally PNG images on your screen. Not at all worth the lives of anyone. If it was their family that was starving and dying from a pandemic, they would be a little more understanding. People have not learned to just shut up. V.I.D.E.O G.A.M.E. Lives are worth more.

Delaying 2.7 is understandable given that Shanghai will be on total lockdown for literally 40 days. Hoyoverse staffs are also humans like us and most importantly, safety is our top priority. The delay is very much okay, we can wait. All we can do right now is wait, pray and hope that all of them can get back safely and unharmed from madness pandemic. I hope other GI players understand that a lot of lives are in danger right now and as we speak, more people in this world are dying. We shouldn't be rude and impatient towards hoyo staffs, they're doing their very best already. The best thing we can do is pray for their safety, you can even spend your time saving primogens while you wait.
A little bit sad because I should endure 21 more days until yelan come, but the good news is that I can save more for a free guarantee and I have more time to prepare artifact for yelan😂Just two sides of a coin.
Cd Projekt Red is a very good company and yet they needed to delay the cyberpunk because of the covid even dying light 2 has been delayed for what almost 2 yrs? majority of new video games that will came 2020 delayed and just came out 2022 because of the pandemic even diablo 4 hasnt released yet but Fans of this video games are just patiently waiting…. how do i know? because im one of them and im part of their community and all of social media groups on the other hand GENSHIN also a great game and company mihoyo but the Fanbase is so toxic makes me wanna puke whenever i saw their nasty comments it will only be delayed for 3 weeks and yet the players are getting insane WTF diablo 4 is delayed for almost 2yrs and some months bruh but were still chillin
