  1. It’s hard to combat something like that. My best guess is that they could potentially leak before leakers but even then other stuff could get shown. Say show off characters months before and have a “what’s Hoyoverse cooking?” Type of stream to display early characters like a trial balloon to gauge reception?

  3. To me.. my opinion on this is why I try to stop leaks now if they couldn’t stop the leaks from day one? That’s just my opinion on that because I feel like no how hard they try to get stronger security to prevent these leaks theirs still going to be a new hack/exploit that’s going to be over their new security system. I don’t mind the leaks of new characters models and I don’t mind the leaks of the new characters abilities of how they function or anything else.

    Without the leaks, this game will be pretty Bland and stale so that’s of what I believe. leaks keeps their player base hype of what can prepare for when the new character is released.

  7. I'm sure there's some corruption – I presumed this within the first year when I started to think the leaks were a marketing ploy at the very least.

    I really doubt the person paying for the leaks get the full leak ahead of time. It'd be naive for anyone to "trust" someone else. Like you said, someone's career or livelihood would be on the line.

  8. I'm honestly getting sick of leaks. It was fine when it was characters, artifacts, etc., from an update in advance. But leaks like we've had in Sumeru and Fontaine are ridiculous. These leaks are going way too far. I wish they would stop. I don't even care who exactly is leaking them at this point.

  10. as someone said in the comments, the leaks got out of control. from helpful leaks to spoiling everything. i was wondering by myself about the fontaine archon and when i saw the leak it just spoiled my excitement honestly

  12. I think the gravity of this leak is what got Hoyo mad. Usually it's crumbs on the kit of a character or whatever. This was a leak of the entire next year and a half of the game's new characters including the hydro archon. That's why they're so upset.

  14. I don’t mind leaks if it doesn’t spoil the story. Leaking the models doesn’t do anything for me when I know absolutely nothing else about them. But it’s nasty to ever leak story.

  16. Nah absolutely coming from within and intentional. I strongly feel like leaks are part of Eastern entertainment culture. Like look at JP and how everyone hypes up Shonen Jump leaks for not just the manga but also for all the gacha game information – speaking specifically about Dokkan Battle and DB Legends but I'm sure for the other game info posted in Jump. Maybe not officially "allowed" but they definitely turn the other way.

    I don't think there's any damage control needed by Hoyoverse, it's free hype/free attention, tbh.

  17. at this point I think hoyo is doing it themself. Because there where often insider leaks, but the leaker they went to court againt where never hoyo employes. I think the hoyo higher up give this leak to "leaker" that work for them and they distribute it to other leakers, but someone of the leaker messed up and gave the leaks to the wrong person. I´m sure if hoyo goes to court it will again be a against a leaker but not one of their employes

  18. The prevalence of leaks in Genshin Impact highlights several major issues:
    – Security not being taken seriously by certain MHY employees
    – Inability to ensure beta testers uphold NDAs
    – Lack of proper roadmaps for a game with a very slow update cycle but extremely thirsty playerbase

    I don't think I've ever seen a game with as many or as blatant leaks as Genshin Impact. It tends to feel like the beta players have no respect whatsoever for their NDAs and points towards a much larger, systemic issue. If controlling beta testers is this ineffective, it may be better to simply remove the beta NDA altogether and crack down on internal security instead (where the enormous multiple-patches-ahead leaks are likely coming from).

  20. I was viewing the calendar and since every new version update comes, it takes about 1 month for an update to come.
    So I think that Fontaine can either be released on July or August due to 3.9 version. Idk whether it will come or will be skipped entirely.

  27. Tbh Leaks can work as a good teaser, also the drama behind this "Hunting Leaks" also may be a good PR in internet.

    Leaks are not something good or bad, but I hate when someone leak Story and Lore aspects, but about characters and environment is not a big deal most of the time for me.
