Wanted to do something more hypothetical today by going over five characters who in my personal opinion deserve (and are in desperate need of) buffs, if Mihoyo ever decides to rebalance the roster. NOTE: JUST BECAUSE A CHARACTER IS NOT MENTIONED DOESN’T MEAN THEY DON’T NEED BUFFS. A lot of them do xd

  1. Since many have pointed out (I take partial responsibility for not catching these when reviewing the draft):
    – At 6:20 my editor accidentally showed Kokomi's burst description when he was supposed to show Qiqi's.
    – At 7:25 Faruzan and Dori are not catalyst users. I told my editor for this part to show three 4 star catalyst supports and he mistakenly thought Faruzan and Dori were catalyst wielders. He admits to not having played the game much ever since 3.0 came out.

    Again it's my fault for not noticing them when reviewing the draft. I must've missed them since they happened quickly and I was looking at my other monitor to type out changes. Will be extra careful to avoid these errors next time – hope that doesn't stop you from enjoying the video though!

  2. Anemo traveler would get a massive buff if they just reworked how the ult functions. Decrease its movement speed and extend its travel range hust a little. Oh, and it doesnt need to auto aim at the nearest enemy, Dawn could use this chamge too. There's a group of enemies in front of you? NAH! I'm gonna target the single unit behind you.

  3. Buffs only really matter if your desired goal is to 36* the abyss with your less-than-optimal faves. The core game's focus on questing and exploration is balanced such that any 4 characters that synergize well and have minimal investment (i.e. desirable mainstats on their artifacts, maybe a good set bonus) can clear everything with zero issues.

  4. Candace isn't made to compete with xinqiu she is designed to work sperate from him

    Her best team is nilou bloom as she free up both xinqiu and kokomi from tean as she can be run in team with yaoyao to give her hydro infusion to spam out bloom seeds

  5. On the topic of the Traveller, I actually like Geo Traveler quite a bit even though their numbers are weak. I wish there were more Geo units and that Geo Constructs got some love… That said, I encourage anyone who has forgotten to go back and take a look at how laughably bad Anemo Traveller's kit is. Not only does their skill and burst basically do nothing but some Anemo damage and absorption, it's crowd control is bad, they have useless ascension passives (one for doing a full normal combo and another for self healing), and their (free) constellations add in traits that should have been part of the base kit. You can tell from certain characters' kit designs how unsure of the direction the games' devs thought Genshin would take early on.

  6. If hoyo made the game too good, too perfect. You wouldn't be streaming about any mistakes or drama. That would mean less engaging community and less free advertising.

  7. I agree with Ningguang
    let her stack a bonus damage for as many hits she does
    but out of crazyness I would add let her stack defense aswell and add a little defense scaling to her damage…just….you know 🙂

    Xiao would be my next buff and to be honest, when you see how in beta you could cancel jump his ult to spam plunging attacks way faster
    that's just perfect o_o

    Dori…but that's just straight up rework at this point
    make her E chargeable for bigger projectiles and more secondary projectiles
    and her ult would pulse waves of electro damage and healing instead of the link he has
    using an elemental skill while the genie is active would increase it's power and/or duration
    I don't like Dori but I like her elemental skill because it reminds me of Alice Madness return with the teapot canon :3

    Let Klee's ultimate stay active when you switch her out 🙁

  8. I'd trade one of my fingers for the MC to get some buffs. They don't need to be a discount 5 Star, but they should be made to be at least viable for use in a working team. Like a fourth member of an established team that doesn't necessarily bring their performance higher, but is good enough that they don't drag the other characters down. The upcoming Hydro MC in particular is disappointing because of the relatively poor HP scaling on their abilities and having a terrible damage cap on their Second Passive, Conclusive Ovation. A cap of 5,000 damage is just insulting, ESPECIALLY when Traveler is Level 90 AND The normal Skill is doing far more damage on its own. I got really interested because it looked like they were gonna be a discount Hydro Hu Tao, but they nerfed them so hard that it's honestly sad.

  9. I feel like all Candance and Chongyun need is a character that works with them. If a new character had a ability that allowed them to use 2 or more elemental infusions at once (and if its useful on that character) they would then have a team where you might actually want them.

  10. i think the best buff to qiqi besides building energy is just make her into a dps instead of support because even if she could build energy all she has no synergy with any cryo dps

  11. Definitely wouldn't expect to see Ning on the list. That's because the issue isn't Ning. It's geo. She's a four star, and all four star DPS is lackluster. The only way to get around that is through buffs, debuffs, and reactions. Xiangling, for example, is often in teams set up for all three of those, while Kuki gets by with the very strong dendro reactions. Geo, though, is mostly screwed, especially if you are a four DPS geo that doesn't scale off def. But even with that, she can dish out a lot of pain at C6 with E, burst, E charged attack. It's just the rest of the time, when she's reliant on normals and charged attacks, that her DPS is considerably lower.

    Anyway, for me, my list would be as follows:
    1) Aloy. She should be buffed to produce numbers of a C6 four DPS four star, rather than feeling worse than even a C0 four star.
    2) Sara. Longer buff on her E. C2 should be in her base kit.
    3) Qiqi. No ICD on her elemental skill. 2s ticks (with half the current healing per tick). Shorter cooldown on it. Chance to generate energy particles on it from it. These changes would make her useful in more teams, plus allow her to use her burst more, which in turn means she adds a lot more comfort to a team and can leverage the Clam set better.
    4) Klee. If there's a five star DPS that could use love, it's Klee. Let her burst stay active if she leaves the field, increase her normal attack range, and adjust the damage on her normals to bring her non-anim-canceling DPS closer to what she can obtain with it. Basically, de-clunkify her.
    5) Xinyan. Give her more def scaling for her offense in her kit, plus have her E always create a pyro DoT, rather than make it dependent on the number of targets. Or alternately, a four star craftable equivalent to the Redhorn added to the game. Sure, she still won't be great, because phys DPS, but you'll be able to slap a def sands on her, get four star levels of DPS, and that'll make her a lot more fun to use for people who lack the monetized weapons.

    Honorable mentions: Mona and Lisa (bigger numbers on their normal attacks). Amber (just hit the bunny to blow it up, better taunt on it). Noelle (better particle generation, faster normal attack speed). Electro traveler (gets energy from E use, so easier to use for both her ability to battery and her q).

  13. I would like travelers skills and bursts to actually scale off of the attack ascension stat and maybe be able to use all current and future elements at the same time. Like a 7 in 1 swiss army knife

  14. It worked be really nice for you to go more in depth in what buffs traveller would like to see. But maybe you could also wait for Fontaine and hydro traveller to include them as well

  15. I think noelle got a big buff with dendro where ninguang didn’t. Noelle is a great on raiden hyperbloom teams if you need defensive utility and either you don’t have zhongli or hes on your other side. She even heals, allowing you to use nahida over yaoyao or smt if you needed that.

    They just need to make geo reactions better so that ning, as the best geo applicator, will automatically have a niche.

    Geo Traveler Buff: Make the rocks detonate MUCH sooner.

  17. I know about the disclaimer and the 30 other characters who probably also need buffs, but are we seriously not gonna talk about Dori? Not even as an honorable mention? Or is she actually better than people give her credit for?

  18. 1. Make albedo's talents scale purely on defense.

    2. Give constellations to aloy. Obtaining these could be tied to the horizon games (e.g. getting constellations for buying the games and finishing the games).

    3. Replace venti's c1. 😅 Perhaps something which gives EM or ER.

    4. Noelle's skill should generate particles.

  19. I'm guessing part of the salt from the Traveler's kit is due to just how insanely powerful the Trailblazer is in HSR. Although in fairness, since HSR came after Genshin, the game devs knew what mistakes to avoid, and the initial party in HSR (March 7th, Dan Heng, and Asta) have longer utility past the point where your roster has expanded.
    Myself, I agree with buffing Candace, cause this is often overlooked, but Hydro has the LEAST selection of 4-star characters as of 2023 (Xingqiu, Candade and Barbara). All the meta Hydro characters like Tartaglia and Yelan are 5 stars, and considering that Fontaine, our next stop and the realm of the HYDRO archon, it's not exactly a good outlook for the element in general.

  20. I personally don't think player input should be taken into consideration in anything other than MMORPG's. When gaming first awarded becoming popular, a finished game was released, played and enjoyed. It wasn't until devs started trying to appease players that gaming took a decline. The focus was more on how do we do what the people complaining want, vice focusing on just making a whole game. That leads to imbalancing for the existence of the fame, like Destiny for example and Destiny 2 along with many other games…where the devs get caught in a cycle of funding, time and effort into "fixing" things players complain about in a game and then the fixes, though slight, cause more problems with balance than there initially was. Sometimes the stance needs to be "if you don't like it, don't play it"…and the players need to either accept that, or make games themselves. Somethings will be better than others, characters will be power crept always during live service games, people's favorites may not be good but they still love em. Critiquing things all the time, especially when theres a good product in hand, has clearly led downhill and it will continue to do so.

As a combo to MC, I think they should start out as they are, giving a taster of what the element is and can do, but after finishing the story section for the region they should be able to undergo a 'test' or quest or something that amplifies their elemental power. That way you can still keep their original intention but also making it so they don't age like cheese

  22. I prefer buffs for Venti, I know that he is not a bad character but he really need some changes to compete with Kazuha or even as an archon. Faruzan C6 can actually be a better version of him with less gimmick.
    – Reduce the distant between him and his burst's placement. This should be good for Circle Impact gameplay and you can just use his burst at point blank against aggressive enemy.
    – Reduce the high of the blackhole so normal melee characters can attack the enemy.
    – Let the players have full control of their burst direction, the auto-aim sometime can be weird, so pls remove it, he's a bow character, we should be reward for "aimming".
    I don't even want to touch his crappy Cons.

  23. Everyone roasts diluc while he my fave character

    Ive cleared abyss with 36 stars with him(tho ayaka gave me a ton of time for diluc to flame smack the 2nd half)

  24. You know, I fully agree that these characters needs buffs but I think some of them has uses, so there are characters that need it more.

    For example candace. While she obviously needs buff, she, unlike others on this team is Best option in something and that is Nilou Bloom (but you have to use C6) she is THE best hydro aplicator but with restriction that you need to have dendro healer, so either yao yao, but it should outperform kokomi teams. So for this reason I think there are characters that would need buff more importantly.

    For example there are characters that have absolutely no use or are just downgrade of some others (which are also 4 stars) like:
    Barbara (who cannot proc infi blooms now and if I am not mistaken her e doesnt produce energy)
    Sayu (tell me what is last time you seen someone using sayu in combat beside meme teams)
    Aloy (her fix could be that SHE FINALLY RECIEVES CONSTALLATIONS!)
    Mika (like idk if he is designed with someone who will be released but he should be mainly Eula support so make him synergistic with Eula)
    and dori, kaveh, collei, kirara bcs there is simply no reason to use them if you can use their upgrades.

    Now I would like to mention 5 star limited characters characters that are just not relevant or doesnt feel like limited 5 stars and should slightly be improved:

    Childe – Its not about he is bad, just QoL improvement, make him plunge attack when he is in his melee stance, its so annoying.

    Albedo – Make his burst relevant, make it scale with DEF

    Klee – Idk how to improve her, I have no idea, she just has no use and is slightly outperformed by yanfei. Or maybe make her burst stick to other characters like yelan or xinqou.

    Eula – Just fix mika, make him synergistic with her, or make her burst not explode when leaving field or make all enemies less resistant to physical

    Venti – I mean…. I am venti main, and just the fact that some inazuma samurai is better than god is laughable. Listen, I know venti more than you could know, and I know that he has only 2 upsides over Kazuha – Best CC from anybody in game and battery capability. So how would I fix him? Well mostly by QoL, I know most of you dont think of this but very annoying thing about venti is that if you fire his burst it will go to the nearest enemy and not in the direction you are facing so it can happen that some enemy is behind you and venti fires his burst into wall making it unusable, just make him fire it in direction you are watching. Another thing- make his black hole to be in ground and not in air, some DPS cannot hit enemies if they are in air. Now, how to improve his "unusability when compared to Kazuha?" well, get rid of his A1 passive, make it automatic in your kit and give him something new, like lesser version of kazuha passive with em or better, make him scale with ER to enhance his battery capabilities and battery other characters, this would make him unique and kazuha unique and he would be played more. Again I wouldnt mention Venti since he has his niche where he is best, if he wasnt A GOD OF HIS ELEMENT…. Oh, and make his constallations better, like nahida or raiden

    Xiao – biggest problem with xiao is his energy requierments and I know c6 faruzan highly improves it but I dont think we should rely on c6 faruzan. I would do just 2 things, make his e produce energy in his burst and make him not stagger enemies when plunging so they dont divide in AOE situations

    Yoimia – Just make her burst synergistic with her BiS artifact set SHimenawa. Just make her burst more relevant.

    And thats all thank you for reading, I think these characters deserve buff the most

  25. I really would like to see Traveler buffed too, I actually would like to use traveler more during story missions cuz I want the immersion lol but god their numbers are really bad. The traveler honestly feels like a 3 star unit rather than anything, would be nice if their damage was at least on par with a decently performing 4 star given they are with you from start to the eventual end of genshin.

  26. Part 2 and 3 definitely needed. Just because half of character roster either too weak in comparison with others or too situative to bother of them for 1 team. And looks like with Fontaine we gonna have more characters like this.
