Back in 1.x with glitches like the photo mode glitch, when people went to celestia, they found it was technically never a 2d sprite. It was a box. Still neat that they finally gave it a proper 3d model instead of just an extruded texture

the places of the object changes from where you are looking, if you are looking from down, the object will be above
the XY is the same, but Z is changing.
if you are above, the object will be down, seeing how it gone underground, i think this is how it programmed.

Celestia is not in the map. Its might be in the sky. I mean the stars, sun and moon are just wallpaper that rotating right. Its like the moon in real life that always follows you. And Celestia might has some code that it will always be at the traveller certain distance. The moment you approach it, it will distance from you.

What if the glitches and the bugs were intentional? It's kind of scary
I remember there being a glitch where you can somehow fly into the beginning cutscene of Aether and Lumine fighting the unknown god.
I have a slight suspicion that we may never have a celestia that we can visit in real time (Gotta use a portal of sum sort that takes us to a whole nother map such as the chasm or enkanomiya)
So celestia may not exist in tevyat it will just get more high defined when Fontaine drops but it’ll still be a model that is un-walkable and the only way to ‘go’ to it will be through the use of an npc or a portal.
This begs another question
Are we ever gonna go to celestia?
