  1. yeah you pick the right character which is the guy, his name is Aether, lore wise he is the canon main protagonist unless you really like the girl which is his sister, Lumine

  2. I'm sure that even by the time the next patch is released, you'll still have a lot left to catch up on. There's exploring all the areas, building your serenitea pot realms (since you said you like building stuff). doing the hangout events, doing the archon and story quests, and of course, the neverending grind for artifacts and building your characters. If you're hyped for the game, just hop on it. Take it slow because it is overwhelming, and just enjoy the beauty of the game

  3. The best way would be to just convert your acc onto pc but there’s a few downsides like if you buy battle pass on ps4 store you can only claim it on the ps4 and I don’t think you can buy things on pc if you originally started on ps4 so it does have its limits I play on ps4 myself so I can’t say if it is something that can be changed

  5. So as a few general informations about patches and content:
There is a new patch update every 6 weeks
Each update has a main/long-term event, at least two characters banners (21 days each, can be either reruns or new character addition to the game) and a bunch of smaller events that last three days to a week
Of course there are moments here and there where there is nothing do other than dailies, but once you familiarize yourself with the patch and event schedule, its not that bad and those time when the game is less busy actually gives you time to focus on other games or projects you may have
I would say its a schedule you have to get use to, but its well balanced and there is new content so frequently that if it just never stopped, it would be overwhelming and hard to keep up with

  6. Just make a second account to get used to it and maybe you could roll new characters and then you decide wich one is your main one and wich yiu just to farm materials. Fyi i have 4 acc im sick i know i need help…still making different teams is nice

  7. If you want to restart, i think just continue the continuation on your old account. The permanent content/quests are still there and you still able to use your old character like venti which is very usefull. Even if you make a new account, you still will not able to experience the past limited time event and character banners. And now genshin is cross platform, you can continue your progress on console in PC.

So the conclusion, my suggestion is just continue your old account.

  8. I don’t known if you’ll see this but Ashikai on YouTube is HANDS DOWN the best lore channel for Genshin. Her theories are so big brain it’s insane. She’s able to bring all these real life references to make sense of the lore in the game and it’s just so good. There is also IslandXD, Teyvat Historia, and ChillwithAster.😌

  9. I really do recommend refreshing the story in your own time and start over, that way you can get a better sense of venturing foward instead of trying to continue where you left off- while doing the latter is obviously not wrong.

But if you really do want to pick up where you left off, here's a recap: (this is all coming from memory, so feel free to reply and correct me)

Obviously, watch out for spoilers, if you're a new player!

You and your sibling are outlanders traveling from world world world, and set foot in Teyvat. But before you can go on to the next world, an Unknown God stops you, says that the arrogance of mankind ends now, and separates your sibling.

Your powers have been sealed and taken from you, and you end up on a stranded beach. You meet Paimon, and she decides to guide you to meet the Archons (Gods) of seven regions to ask for your sibling’s whereabouts. So, you embark on a journey to find your lost sibling.

While venturing into the Whispering Woods, you meet a young boy trying to comfort a dragon. But you accidentally alert the dragon, causing it to flee. The boy, also alarmed, gives up on his endeavor and disappears with a gust of wind. The dragon leaves behind a teardrop crystal, and you manage to purify it, for some unknown reason.

You then stumble upon the Statue of the Seven. You gain Anemo (wind) powers from it.

Not long after, you arrive at Mondstadt, the city of wind and freedom. Mondstadt worships Barbatos, the Anemo Archon.

You are guided into the city by Outrider Amber of the Knights of Favonius (this is where you get your very first wind glider), and you're met by a dragon’s attack. A mysterious force lifts you up with the power of the Four Winds to chase the dragon away. After the dragon's attack, the city is covered in grey clouds.

You meet Kaeya, the Cavalry Captain. He leads you to the Knight’s Headquarters, as the Acting Grandmaster wishes to see you. Her name is Jean, and she's impressed by your ability to go up against the dragon, which is called Stormterror. He was once one of the Four Winds. The Four Winds had dedicated themselves to protecting Mondstadt long ago.

Eventually, you meet a bard which you feel like you've seen before. You meet him and he introduces himself as Venti, and he claims to be very close with Stormterror. He brings out a corrupted teardrop crystal, and you help purify it too.

He says to bring out Stormterror (or Dvalin, as Venti calls it), he needs the Holy Lyre, which is being guarded in the Church. So, you ask a sister, but since you don't have the official documents, she can't lend it to you.

So, you decide to steal the Lyre at night, but a woman dressed in black and purple snatches it and disappears. You were about to confront her, when you're caught by a knight, so you flee.

You eventually flee to a tavern called Angel's Share. You hide on the second floor, and a knight asks the current bartender of the tavern of your whereabouts. However, having clearly seen you, the bartender says he hasn't seen you. The knight leaves, and you're introduced to Diluc.

Jean comes out of nowhere and you explain the situation to both of them. You all deduce that it was Fatui that had stolen the Lyre. The Fatui is an organization that serves the Cryo (ice) Archon from a faraway land of Snezhnaya. So, you enter a hidden lair to retrieve it.

When Venti sees the Lyre, he says that it's powers have been lost to time, so in order to revive its youthful glow, you need to gather three crystal teardrops. So, you get them, and eventually the Lyre is ready to be played to summon Dvalin/Stormterror.

You go to Starsnatch Cliff with Venti, Diluc and Jean. Venti summons Dvalin, but to everyone's surprise, an Abyss Mage has been whispering harmful lies to Dvalin. Dvalin rages, claiming Barbatos has left him, and Mondstadt had turned its back on him. Venti says none of those are true, but before he could convince Dvalin, he flies away.

Venti is now revealed to be Barbatos. He concludes that the Abyss have been manipulating and poisoning Dvalin to corrupt him. The Abyss is another organization which comes from the darkness’ depths, their one goal being to destroy Celestia (basically, the heaven of Teyvat).

We cut to another scene where the Abyss Mage reports back to their prince/princess, which turns out to be none other than our dearest sibling.

You and your group now head to Stormterror Lair, where Dvalin resides. You fight Dvalin and destroy the blood clots that are wounding him. He is then freed of its corruption.

He eventually takes flight to an unknown journey, no longer confined to protect Mondstadt. For what does freedom really mean, when demanded of you by a God?

Thus, ends the prologue of the adventure that awaits you.

I'm going to assume that you haven't completed the Liyue Archon quest since you were surprised by the floating palace in the sky (which is called the Jade Chamber).

    That's all!

  10. I really enjoy this reaction vid of yours 😁
I was in the same boat as you & decided to play the game again after months. From my experience, start where you left off & build your current team/characters. invest in 1 team that can take you till a higher AR level. Farm their artifacts and books. Lastly, don’t rush the game 😀 explore teyvat at your own pace since there are lots of places to explore and things to discover. Best of luck to you! 😀

  11. Inazuma was a huge expansion. We got 6 large islands to explore with tons of quests, puzzles, etc. I’m not sure how far along you were in your account but you’ll need to finish the Mondstat and Liyue archon quests in order to unlock Inazuma. Once you get there you’ll never want to leave. 😍

  12. You won’t have to worry about having enough content, since you’ve been gone over a year you’ll have dozens of backlogged world quests and story quests. If you decide to play again I’ll definitely be watching!

  13. The big problem you will have is that some (like Albedo) was event exclusive, so i recommend watching some lets plays of that. But otherwise you mostly have Character Storys that you can do yourself and if you get back in i heavyly recomend to just explore whats new for now since it is just the most fun part of genshin, after that you can go questing and finish all you have, so you are up to date for events

  14. What sucks is that content is added and removed like Golden Apple Archipelago. It added a huge area that was later completely removed. This is mainly because this is also a mobile game and have to make it fit on a phone. Most of the time it is just temporary decorations or slight changes to areas but sometimes they just have to delete huge chunks of the game. Updates are indeed frequent so you basically have to come back to the game every month or else you miss out on stuff.

I really loved Golden Apple Archipelago. It had awesome music and felt like an adventure to a mysterious land. You can not go there anymore unless they ever re-run the event.

  15. I felt the same way about the traveler thing, I didn’t choose Lumine and I wanted to change but after a While I was glad I didn’t choose her. Aether is the more canonical pick for the story line so it makes more sense in my eyes
