  1. The only resonance in the game I find more useless than electro is hydro. It's completely pointless if you don't use Kokomi or Barbara, but then again there are only 5 hydro characters compared to the 7 (soon 8 with yae) electro, so people don't pay attention to the issue as much.

  2. I think it's also worth considering certain characters having a low pick rate for more reasons than just their element (also pick rate isn't an accurate way of judging a character's value in terms of meta, but that's another conversation). Razor is moreso a phys character, and a phys character who has no way of reducing phys res outside of superconduct or other teammates. His C4 helps, but an extra 20% shred would help more until the enemy was well down into the negatives. And there are quite a few enemies, he can't even get into the negatives without Eula/Shenhe/etc. Keqing's stamina costs and knockback from her charged attacks make her a lot more difficult to use. Lisa needing to charge up her skill's damage (in 2 different ways!) is super inconvenient. The only way electro characters are really "balanced around their element" is through higher scalings, which is just what they do with most dps/subdps characters who're unable to use amping reactions (Xiao, Eula, Itto, Raiden etc etc). And that's a good thing. I think not having amp reactions is fine as long as scalings are high enough

  3. The problem now about new characters is that strong elements like pyto and cryo are getting weaker individual character where electro are getting strong individual characters. Geo is completely seperate and we will probably get a dendro character before we get another hydro character.

  4. You missed the point again.
Electro reactions and resonance focuses on energy because that's how mihoyo wants these characters to work.
usually electro characters comes with very high scaling on their skill and burst compared to pyro or hydro characters. they compensate the lack of offensive reaction with high scaling and high spam rate of those skills and burst.
Compared to which hydro and pyro or cryo DPS units comes with longer CD and lower scaling since they have access to offensive reactions.
If electro characters such as raiden or beidou would have been pyro or hydro, they will be completely broken to the point they would make other units irrelevant. In my opinion broken characters are detrimental to the game as it will limit your gameplay experience to those few ones. The point is to make balanced characters.

If element of a character could make decisive placement of a character in meta, then diluc and klee would never have been dethroned.
Keqing or razor's situation is due to their poor kit design, and not their element.

Lastly, abyss pick rate is a terrible reference to understand character's value. mihoyo designs abyss by giving unfair advantage to recently released characters. The moment new character gets released and new abyss gets introduced alongside it, the pick rates will change dramatically.
I remeber the abyss where floor 11 had pyro cube and barbara's pick rate sky rocketed. Does that make barbara a broken character then?

  5. Yeah, make the resonance like Favonius equips or jus Energy Recharge, hehehehehe. For the electro reaction, it's hard to buff without making the enemies also OP. I mean I fell into a pit of Electro slimes underwater on the Golden Apple Archipelago and got perma stunned by electro charge, hehehehehe

  6. Theory crafters say that there's nothing wrong with electro reactions it is the characters who are the problem and their multipliers remember also we haven't gotten a 5* electro main dps since the game started while every other element has and raiden isn't a main dps until what c2 and so unless your a whale she doesn't count and even if you do count her she is a top pick in spiral abyss so because every other element has been given new dps characters those element have caught back up with the games power creep like how was geo doing before itto excluding zhongli who like raiden could be any element and people would still use him for his shield and defence shred also electro is suffering from the same problems as xaio in that mhy keeps designing content that doesn't suit electro by making single target floors and putting ruin type enemies in the abyss and electro reactions don't like single target or ruin enemies because hydro and electro causes it to spread damage to other enemies and ruin enemies have a 70% damage reduction to physical so super conduct isn't that great, on another not electro resonance does benefit the entire team other characters still get energy from those electro particals and to change it to white particles would just turn into an absurd amount of energy recharge, mhy needs to be careful when designing electro characters because of they give yae multipliers like itto she will be the most broken character in the game for a long time

  7. What I noticed with electro characters before was most of them are centered around sub-dps/burst supports BUT most of the damage that they can do/power spike that they have are constellation locked. They are strong, but will be stronger with constellations. The electro resonance is also centered around having high burst up time but the problem is most content, especially the spiral abyss, will be cleared more efficiently using higher damage output elemental reactions like vaporize and melt. Don't get me wrong though because electro reactions are strong too but can be less efficient with time-sensitive content. I do hope that electro element or electro resonance get a rework/revamp because I truly like electro, it being my favorite element. Maybe one of the reasons they can't do that is it will be troublesome to change just electro, especially if it will affect how teams and reactions drastically. Maybe that's why they keep introducing characters that work around the problem rather than changing how electro works

  8. Thank you for your video. I'm french, and it seems french community doesn't like to speak about this problem. Because it's a problem : does it worth to invest in an electro unit? (I mean lv 80-90). Currently I have a lot a doubts.

  9. Hot take :
Mihoyo don't release any electro characters because they know Electro is a lackluster element
People are pining it all on Yae but if you fellow any leaks or theorycrafters, she's already being torn apart

  10. The only reason why raiden shogun good is because she dealt so much damage as a dps and give your team, tiny buffs and tiny off-field damage all the time. Her support capability is pretty meh and pretty much the same if not worse than fischl and beidou, but as a dps she's amazing. We've all been fooled by mihoyo or mihoyo just doesn't even know her actual role is.

Electro as element on the other hand is completely different story in terms of game balance. Cryo and pyro is known for their amazing damage, hydro and anemo is very great support element, geo is another weak ass element but at least they synergize well on their own mono comp with good resonance. Electro on the other hand is all over the place. They're kinda focusing on energy recharge that no one needs, since it can be easily fixed by battery units or artifacts/weapons. Constantly got killed by their own elemental reactions, don't even synergize well on mono comps except if you have C6 sara. Subpar elemental reaction in terms of cc, shred, and damage.

  11. On the scarcity of electro units, I believe it's a combination of both, they are taking their time to design electro units around the element's weaknesses and trying to make them desirable in other ways; but they're likely being so lackadaisical with this for the canon reasoning (or perhaps that canon detail was even born from a lack of ideas as to what to do with the element)

  12. My copium is theyre waiting til Dendro. Dendro HAS to bring something unique to anemo and geo, and HAS to give a direct damage buffing option to electro.

Anemo+Dendro: I think this could be Pollinate or Spore. spreads like swirl, but has a dot health drain effect. This would allow Xiao to self heal for one, but also open up a ton of team options without giving anemo a direct damage buff like "melt".

Geo+Dendro: I think this should be Petrify. essentially another freeze option but with zero shared elements, we also need more cc reactions. The mechanic is already design, so the it would differ by not shattering. I think Zhongli has been out long enough that petrify wouldnt feel like "stealing" part of his kit and uniqueness. its clear that the shield is much more his identity than the pertify. plus he would still be the only unit that can petrify without reactions.

Electro+Dendro: I think this should be something like "synthesis/photosynthesis" or "energize" or something and basically give the unit that triggered the effect a damage boost for 5 seconds maybe (something that would go with electros fast attacking nature, unlike melt and vape that benefit from slow big hits. Keqing needs to be directly buffed with this reaction imo).

  13. Honestly, Electro is not as problematic as Geo in my opinion. Electro’s problems are nothing compared to Geo. Reaction-wise, Electro’s reactions are still more useful than Geo’s Crystallize. Crystallize as an elemental reaction is worthless. What you get from Crystallize are paper-thin shields. Crystallize specializes in providing shields, but it sucks at it. Zhongli & other shielders invalidate Crystallize. Also, Crystallize scales off EM, which is another problem. No one would build EM on Geo characters because their kits scale of either HP or DEF. Zhongli & Itto are great Geo characters. But if they were of a different element, they’d be stronger. Geo characters are only good because of their individual kits, not because of their element. Electro’s elemental reactions are nothing compared to the issues of Geo’s Crystallize.

  14. Short version: There is one problem with electro… Bennett is Pyro. What people are calling an element problem is really a support problem. There is no electro battery, damage buff, and healer all in one 4*. There is not even two of those things. Make Bennett electro and everyone will be asking what's wrong with pyro?

  15. The reason why electro is not being buffed is because they would have to re balance a bunch of characters just to list a few: tazer comp (Fischl, Beidou), raiden national (Raiden)… thats because these characters were designed with the weaknesses of ectro in mind.

  16. We're heading to the area of triple element meta so I don't really think reaction team gonna be THAT big of a deal anymore .. I can not clear one certain floor as fast with a normal reaction team but I can clear that exact same floor but 10 times faster with triple cryo team with shenhe support.. so they're not really inferior than the elemental reaction team as long as they're not being hard countered with immune
Electro does have problem tho, they just need to buff it like they did with anemo and Geo, maybe adding more dmg for overload reaction ? cause that's the only thing can deal dmg with electro.. maybe just let them crit and there we go, or just straight up give them a little bit bigger scale
