  1. Hammers/Axes would be cool but honestly they don't need more weapons if they made the characters less uninteresting (gameplay wise).
Most of them play pretty much the same with only very minute differences.

My main gripe with the game is that there is basically no build crafting. There is only ever 1 or 2 artifact sets and weapons that work well on any given character, everything you put on your character is purely to inflate stats in some way and nothing else and even the activation requirements for these buffs themselves are boring.

  2. To be fair new weapon types are built into the character. Like Dehya and Heizou throwing hands with everyone, and itto tossing away stonethresher in favor of his mace.

  3. I think weapon is the most stupid idea from Mohoyo

I mean it will be better if the character getting role like a DPS, Buffer, Healer, etc rather than with weapon with no clear purpose

  4. Tbh i don't even mind if they keep the same weapon type and make the weapon itself completely invisible during combat because the actual thing the character uses is something else.

Like, imagine a pyro "sword" user who actually has a whip as their weapon, and the only part of the sword you actually see is the handle, with a flaming whip attached instead of the blade.

  5. More weapon varierty would be such a pain unless they became secondary weapons for existing characters or something. Even then, it makes gacha harder

  6. One weapon type I want in Genshin would be scythes. I think thr Soulsborne series does them flawlessly. They not only ifnore shields partially but they also have a sweet spot to that when you space yourself correctly you'd do more damage.

  7. Scythes seem to be a popular choice for people when it comes to adding a new weapon type, but I just don't think it would be that much different from polearms.

I always felt daggers would be a great addition to the game, and the way I would personally like to see it done is very fast normal attacks and then instead of a charged attack, it gets an aim mode where you throw daggers. This would give players a second option for weapons that can hit weak points, where as of right now our only option is bows

  8. After Mika got released, I have a slight hope for more weapon variation.

It may not be a completely different type but perhaps just a modification to the existing weapon type.

I'm thinking something like how books belong to the catalyst. It's a variation/modification with the same properties.
So, there could be a crossbow (bow), lance (claymore), scythe (polearm), double pointed dagger (sword) characters in the future. That's the possibility that could happen and what I hope to see

  9. A weapon type I think would be nice to switch things up would be something lile a machine gun or a gatling gun. An aimable weapon that does a lot of rapid fire auto attacks. They had these in Tower of Fantasy and I thought they were really fun. (Leaks warning:)

Hydro Traveler's E does this, but it sucks 😂
