Do You Still Enjoy Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact: a game so (in)famous that you can’t escape hearing something about it no matter where you go. Let’s say the first year anniversary fiasco never happened, let’s say the fandom that’s now so toxic never discovered the game, let’s say the game never became this popular and they still kept the status quo of releasing content like today, do you and will you still enjoy Genshin Impact?

  1. stopped playing. Will play again next year when there is 2-3 more maps. The funnest part for me is exploration. it was addicting when it first came out but once everything is explored. its over. time to look for a new open world game

  2. Quitted Genshin not just because of little to no endgame contents but ultimately because of *it's community*. So damn tired of these crying self-entitled babies that just never can have shiits in their life, it's like you're living in a neighborhood where the neighbors always make a some sort of huge loud party 24/7 because they think they can/entitled to do so which is extremely annoying.

It's not that you can't do it but at least be a lot more sensible when doing so instead of harassing the staff/voice actors or review bombing on other games or even being toxic over someone that has different opinion than them. That's just so dumb and unimaginable, I sure do not want to be with that community anymore. Constantly reading those Genshin articles were such a brain tumor experience. I've moved out from this neighborhood.

  3. I really enjoyed it until like 40AR, when it all turned to farming without any real payoff. Eventually there are some great events that make me stick around, but other than that I just collect primos to roll for shit I want.

  5. I left because phone storage.
    Time wall
Abyss is to hard for low rewards.
Its a incomplete game, I'll wait till the world is complete to come back.

Edit: i forgot so of the things I was thinking of saying so I'm leaving it at that.

  6. interesting timing with you uploading this as 4 gacha games got too much for me and i quit genshin a month ago and came back yesterday
i felt like gacha games were consuming too much of my time and since genshin was the game i had the most complaints about, it had to be the one to go, but i am back now and because of the great characters, the music and world design and the gameplay being so much different from the brainless auto games gacha has to offer i do still enjoy the game, but i will definitely slack in this game a lot more than i did before, i logged in daily since launch and did stuff like ore/artifact runs on the world map on a daily basis, i tryharded and got really fatigued, i needed this break from the game even with my welkin taking the hit and now that i am back to it i enjoy it much more than just before i quit, after spending 165€ on welkin and BP though i will probably not pay any more from now

  7. I don't simply because I'm a pleb and my phone can't keep up with the game lol. Getting new characters sounds fun but playing with constant fps drops makes me wanna kill myself

  8. Personally, I still play…but just barely. I can barely muster the energy to play the game anymore. It's just there's no endgame. And every damned "difficult" challenge is just a dps check. Do you have enough dps to kill 3mil+ hp in 1 minute 30 seconds.

Characters that are weak still remain weak since launch, the deliberate gimping of characters. The almost entirety of Inazuma's characters having the exact same damned kit design. The rush and broken plotline of Inazuma Part 2. The disregard for the community and refusal to listen to any criticism. The bugs that have been in the game SINCE LAUNCH! Not to mention the Switch release that was announced OVER A YEAR AGO! Where the hell is the switch port!?

I know this horse has been beat to death, but the Anniversary really was the tipping point and brought everything into perspective for me. I forgave so much of the game's shortcoming because I thought MiHoYo was listening and trying to make a better game and experience for everyone. I really thought the Anni was going to be a huge event or announcment like "Hey, we've had a few stumbles along the way, but we've also had a lot of fun. We will strive to make the game better then ever next year." Even something as empty as that would have been fine, but not even that. Had to force a thank you out of their mouths and even that was just some bandaids over a gaping wound.

I don't even know how I feel about the game anymore, to be honest. I have no motivation to do anything anymore…I don't want to use the word hate, because this game has brought me a lot of enjoyment…but the flaws are too many and the company too evil to use any other word but "hate". It's death by a thousand needles for me. I wish it didn't have to be like this.

At this point, I would say the only thing keeping me playing is the lolis. Klee, Diona, Qiqi, Sayu and with Yaoyao on the horizon…they're the only things that give me joy in Genshin Impact.

The easiest way I can compare my feelings is just :Qiqifallen:. That alone says all my feelings towards the game.

  9. Oh yeah, don't worry about what people say man. You are definitely not doing anything wrong, man. I enjoy you for you and that's why I am subscribed.

Glad you already came to that conclusion yourself, but still felt like I should say it even though I am just a faceless entity on the internet.

  10. Do i still play: yes log in>>daily>>domain>>log out. Event sometime i do sometime I don't, recently forgot to do albedo event didnt R5 the sword only R3.
Do i enjoy: gameplay and story not anymore. Waifu i well still do enjoy looking at them 😏.

Will enjoy more if they add artifact enhanced reset from +20 to 0 but keep the same substats. So we can try to upgrade it again for a better stats. Having to see many perfect substats piece just to be ruined by rng is just hurt. And hurt even more when you will spend xxxx resin for another piece.

  11. On release I played with no real idea on how to progress and just did dailys for a few months and then dropped the game. When Eula first came out I got back into the game and decided to learn how to farm things proper. Now I've definitly whaled a tiny bit into the game & some of these events like the midsummer & the Akaya story has gotten me to fall in love with several of the characters. Though my progression in terms of character building isn't optimal, nor have I gone out of my way to collect everything nor do all the side quests, etc I still enjoy the farming the way I do despite it being a bit slow. But also new waifus to get hyped about every month or so is always exciting.

  12. My answer is no, purely because of fatigue, but I still keep the game in my PC in case I want to see Eula.
When I open the game again. I travel with Eula, dance with her claymore, and cutting trees.
Screw those commission/domain/ley line/etc. It does feels like a routine when I have no choice but to manually beat them over and over again.

  13. The dungeon like event that's like 2 patches ago (the labyrinth of fog) really is the concept of that one mobile game I used to play a lot called "Soul knight" the event is so good and addictive I would be very surprised if they won't ever add that as a permanent feature or at least rotating events

  14. No,
    -Combat gets dull later on
-Overly long cutscenes that drag out the story more than it already is
-continuing the previous point, Useless dialogue options that don't even contribute to anything and serve as an AFK check.
-Actual lack of QoL improvements despite being out for 1 year.

I am still willing to experience the game in the future should they introduce more QoL improvements, but if they still don't add something simple like a Skip dialogue/Fast forward option, I am definitely uninstalling.

  15. Personally I still very much enjoy the game but I never played it seriously.
The toxic parts of the community didn‘t affect me because I have neither Twitter nor Reddit and I am only on UD‘s Discord server which is the most wholesome server I‘ve been on for a hot minute.

I play the game my way and use the characters I like, nowadays I stopped doing my dailies since they are just repetitive.
I much rather finish some characters I already have and try myself on soloing the bosses with all my chars.
Of course I see all the problems it has and that you have to franticly search for things to do sometimes, ok most of the time but I tell myself: you don‘t have to play this everyday.
The only thing that REALLY frustrates me is against all opinion not the disconnection from the Genshin team and its players but its disconnection towards other Mihoyo stuff.
If you compare the Genshin and Honkai Dev team it‘s like night and day, ok the latter is 4 years older hence more experienced but they both work under Mihoyo and could just help each other out.
I‘ve been playing honkai for a long while now and the endgame it has to offer is far more fulfilling than Genshin.
Granted imo that has to do with the fact that in CN Honkai has competition in PGR and it feels like both games try to one-up each other from time to time.
I think it would be great if smth like that could happen to Genshin.

In any case, I still enjoy Genshin but in my own way

  16. The game main appeal basically die with 2.1-2.2 inazuma archon quest and kokomi story quest and it’s where people start to realize that new character introduced into the game has only 1 purpose and that’s to sale primogem. They are only there for a short time but otherwise are irrelevant and is essentially just a well -dressed npc with sloppy character writing.
    .
This is the kind of game design model that will not last beyond a few more new character before people just stop being interested and stop caring overall.
What the game so sorely lacking is a robust production team for each character story development.

  17. Honestly, I am burnt out from the game. I beat everything there is to it and got 36 stars in the abyss so there really isn’t much for me to do. The only thing keeping me into the game is getting new Characters like Ganyu that will supposedly rerun in 2.4 and yeah if she doesn’t rerun, I’ll probably take a break for a patch since I would have the primos to guarantee her.

  19. Honestly i still play genshin sure sometimes i take one to three days of but i still love the game quite a bit between doing your usual stuff something about just walking around the open world with calming music is very relaxing after school stuff you know, plus i quite enjoy building the characters i like and when it does happen seeing the massive growth from the previous stuff i put on them. Like for a personal example my albedo when i first got his gear together he was dealing like 6 to 8k then it went to about 10k then 12k and so on until currently to about 20+k and it was honest an amazing feeling seeing his numbers go up. So while don’t play everyday like i used to in my early days and maybe in the future i would take long brakes only coming in for a new character or event but i still love the game very much

plus it has cute girls so why not.

  20. The game is great and is getting progressively better. If peeps have Cyberpunk 2077 level of expectations for strange reasons… well I guess they can do their growing up playing something else and disappoint their way into maturity. I'm not even joking… whatever you mentioned regarding the anniversary rewards in jest does a good job of showcasing a problem- unrealistic expectations and, by a large degree, disproportional reaction. There's a stupid videogame to pass the time as light entertainment and then there's life. Please don't confuse them. Touch grass and so forth.

  21. well since i play like 8 gacha games actively currently and all of them also at endgame, i treat genshin as no different, they pretty much the same. but i do feel bad about genshin because looking at it objectively, the game has MASSIVE potential to become so much better, but alas they settle with becoming the same like any other mobile gacha games, once you done with exploring and all the glitters and shiny open world the game provides, it becomes no different from mobile gacha games waifu collection simulator like azur lane, just a never ending same loop to obtain new waifus
