  1. If you are feeling brave/dumb enough to ignore everything I said here, for the love of god DO NOT GO ON OTHER PEOPLES SERVERS. It gives them access to your computer.

Edit: I have had it explained to me how they actually work however I stand by the video itself in that only people who know what they are doing should mess with this stuff, there is alot of risk involved and if it ever gains enough traction hoyo WILL go after it. Not an if, only a when. So just be very very careful with this stuff.

  2. Sounds a bit reactionary to say you will be banned 100% when in fact no one has been banned that anyone knows of for private server use. Also other companies will not steal anything because there would be no way to run a successful game with blatantly stolen assets from a large company. Even Dislyte which I’m sure would do that if they could just loosely stole art and a mini game from a small company – anything larger than that and you can bet a large company like Mihoyo would be all over anyone making mo eh with their assets. The real reason they wouldn’t like private servers is because if people can use high constellation characters and characters/items they don’t have for free then they are less likely to spend on getting them in game. It is financially motivated but mainly because they want people to be as thirsty as possible for the things they sell and if they are getting their fix for free they are less likely to want them on the live servers.

  3. Well, you guys can call out Zyox then… And all of those YouTube Creators who has access into it. They basically monopolize all the content of Genshin by having those servers. Even Mtashed said himself that he can't compete with those kind of content because of the private server those creators have. Literally, 1 sec after the patch comes out they already have a video for the next 5 star characters for damage test and that's clearly a monopoly. They even said so themselves that they are on that Private Server.

So, in conclusion. Selected people can be on the private server and monopolized content? While others are getting banned from using it? Kinda unfair

  4. I'm pretty sure another company would have at least 2 PCs to try a private server. I agree that they might start to ban accounts related to private servers(The same IP) But to stop other companies from using it, Owning a private server should be illegal (As it is per their term of service if I remember correctly)
The best solution for them is to release a creative mode in genshin when you can test all weapons and Characters.
This is only my opinion, 🐵🐵🐵

  5. The only time I have heard of a company taking action of a private server.
Was when millions of parents complained to Disney, about their kids were being targeted on a Club Penguin private server. Long after the original Club Penguin got shut down.

And if I remember right, the only thing that happened was that the hosts got sued, and all the other club penguin private servers removed the word "Disney" in the game.

  6. I only ever played 2 private servers (not genshin's): local one which had the local language and the "premium" game… if this is true for a lot of games too, might as well stay clear of that crap

  7. Ah yes, private servers. So in relation to the stupidity of hilariously hiding from the actual server mods that can moniter illegal activities such as this, I've used a general saying I've made to describe bozos that undergo corruption like this…

Criminal hackers are smart for knowing how to hack, but they're still stupid for doing it.

Hacking doesn't relate to this situation, but the saying is very close to where it might as well be. I've seen this happen with yes, Genshin, FFXIV, I believe GTAV and a few others. It's sickening to see, but hilarious to watch them get exposed and shut down.

  8. If you insist on this, at least be smart enough to do it on a completely separate device and separate IP address. And keep it to yourself lol, don't be dumb enough to let people prod around your device.

  9. I'm not entirely sure how the genshin ones work, however the wow and everquest ones don't interface with the official servers at all, in any way.

You can run them locally, though the last time I touched WoW servers was forever ago, and world saves were rough.

Your ip is very likely also not static. What might make you more likely to be banned is if you potentially ran them on the same system, and the private version also modified files that regular genshin also uses, or loaded some random dlls or something that genshin's anticheat picked up.

  10. You make a nice argument about the coding part and why they wouldn't wanna make other companies have their code (if it actually works that way, maybe it' s much more complicated than that), but I mean.. what' s stopping those companies to just create a private server on their own and steal it anyway, yknow?
It' s just weird that they ban accounts and all that, why are you targeting players that just wanna have fun lol, I' ve never seen other companies do this

  11. Totally agreed. Only indulge if you really know what you are doing. I installed a private server, for some reason i saw it accessing my dashlane, where i stole all my passwords, and 2 days later, my account got hacked. So it may not be mihoyo, it can also be someone else who can get into your account.

  15. i see no issue with private server if they have their own authentication server and don't rely on the official service for it to work. these private server owner really need to know how to run their private with out ever needing to access the official server.

  16. Whenever a private server with MODDED END-CONTENT gets released i will gladly erase my official genshin account and spend all my money on that private server.
All i want is beeing able to fight for at least 4hours a day (especially on weekends). I hate beeing bored by hoyoverse on purpose.

Add Dungeons instead of Domains with +100 hillichurls.
Add farmable weapons. Or farmable constellations, even if it takes a whole month of grinding and i would gladly pay a monthly fee to such a server.
Add "character level 91 till 100". Remove XP books for 91-100 so we have to actually use our characters in the overworld to level them.
Increase monster density in the overworld by 20 and you get my paycheck.

And make the optional skins farmable inside Domains. Give us some things to grind and fight for.
Hoyoverse will never do this. Maybe modded private servers will.

  17. I feel bad for hoyoverse, though they are really greedy, it doesn't mean you can do things like this, I mean the original game is completely F2P until you become dumb enough to spend money.

  20. What a bull crap xD when you login to a private server your connecting to "the private servers Database and not to the original one" so for them to log you is impossible, unless the developers (coders) didnt remove the old server info, and trust me most private server dont LOG anything.. so get your facts straight, instead of trying to hop on the "Get scared boat".

reason they remove the loging from servers is so the original developers cant Sue them for copyright xD

Funny seeing it comes froma country where "copyright means nothing, and they them selfs copy stuff from around the world like crazy"

  21. I play private servers and main server and i not get banned and there is no way to ban your main account from private server and you no need to give any information to login on that
And obviously for going to the private server you must use a lot of connection modifiers and i think there's no way to actually track you

  22. I would like for genshin to make private servers part of the actual main screen or something where you could theory craft on your own much more easily. Like how in bloons td6 you have a sandbox mode where you have infinite lives and infinite cash and can buy anything and send out any bloon.

  23. As my experience on the old online game that I played that no longger supported and already close, private server exist on these games when the game is no longger popular anymore and in my opinion they do really killed the main game. At contrast they preserved these game and you can still play game these days even it is no longger supported 10-15 years ago. I do understand that these private server is really a treat to the existence of Genshin Impact because in the middle of it popularity, these private server pop out too early. We need this just to preserve the game, not to kill the original.
