Hoyoverse actually went and revealed to us two new dendro reactions “Bloom & Catalyze”. What do they do and how can we benefit from them? In this video I will analyze exactly what this means for players in the near future!

I wasn't expecting you to be this quick on the draw uploading this Walrus! The original video went live like an hour ago lol.
The Sumeru soundtrack slaps!! Yu-peng Chen
is a musical genius!!
I mean the fact alone that they speak of Dendro and speak of it as the “catalyse” reaction means that it is a functional element.
I mean in real life, a catalyst’s purpose is too speed up chemical reactions. I think that’s what they were going for
We need to get phd for next puzzle
If dendro only reacts with pyro, hydro and electro, it doesn’t necessarily bode ill for the remaining elements. For instance, certain testers have indicated that the burning reaction persists pyro on targets for a long time, it even gets reapplied through this duration. So theoretically you could setup burning then go for consistent reverse melt with cryo. In this case, cryo not reacting with dendro is actually good for reverse melting
I don't think you show the right frame about Catalyze. Afaik, the Catalyze reaction itself were shown with Dendro MC applied Dendro on Mitachurl then switch to Keqing then she cast her E on it. On the other hand, the one you show to us is the BYPRODUCT of Bloom when it reacts with Electro. So I think so far the new reaction involving Dendro from the trailer are these :
– Dendro + Hydro = Bloom
– Bloom + Pyro = Explosion(?), shown when Yanfei attacking hilichurls when Bloom's fruit are nearby
– Bloom + Electro = Homing projectile(?), this is the frame where Razor attacking a single hilichurl with nearby Bloom's fruit
– Dendro + Electro = Catalyze
I dunno if Bloom + Electro and Dendro + Electro are the same reaction or not, but to me it looks different.
So here is my take on the reactions so far if ur interested. The hydro and dendro is mostly a damage reaction that creates a Plant thing that breaks and attacks the enemy like how the ruin guard homes its missiles, whereas electro and dendro is like a debuff to the enemy(note that it might not be a buff as the player doesn't get any effect animation whereas the enemy gets some sort of yellow leaf light symbols around it and based on the screen that developer showed us it has something to do with pointed objects like going through hard and meaty surfaces therefore my guess being catalyze (catalyze in chemistry standing for amplify or in other words making it easier for reactions to take place) reaction shreds enemy defense or something similar like the vv shred
Maybe we can convert the drops in the alchemist table. Solved
I hope there will be a cryo reaction, and just like the dendro one, it could be imaginatively inspired/magical
No cap that is some big brain stuff lol. This is why I watch you . I didn’t even think about that. They should’ve just added more mobs.
geo f* up
It does say Sumeru teaser 01: the dendro element. So Imo these are supposed to be Sumeru teasers as a whole not just dendro. So I believe 02 will talk more about enemy or world design with less dendro specific talk.
Also if you notice the little seed dropped by hydro attacked the hilichurl when Razor picked it up.
(●'◡'●)
It’s happening 🎉
no reaction on ameno and geo so far. wich sucks hard. but the functionaly part of dendro looks fun and amazing so far
I might get back in the game just to test these new elemetal reaction… still low expectations tho
This sumero mechanics forces players to play hydro electro and pyro character team
Dendro could be Adapt (Modified)
Umm…it seems like the leaks were accurate. The reactions are unique I guess. I hope Teaser 02, 03, or even 04 shows something endgame like forest abyss. Please Hoyo give us something. I don't want Inazuma all over again with just puzzles…
2:20 seems picking that thingy made it fly into an enemy, so it might still be damage based reaction between hydro and dendro (at least that thingy dropped upon that reaction 1 shot before)
So, there is no Dendro and Geo reaction??
Booooooo. 👎
Two years. And Dendro only reacts with 3 elements? Sumeru is lovely indeed. The environment design is superb. They make it look like Dendro synergizes well with other elements, but for Dendro to react only to 3 elements after 2 years of waiting is very disappointing.
If anything, Geo and Dendro make a lot of sense to have a reaction with each other more than Electro and Dendro.
RIP Geo. You’re gonna be left behind even more now in terms of reaction.
Wishing that Dendro becomes the only element that can synergize with Anemo (pollination concept) and Geo (anything related to cultivation or decomposition/decay)
looks good I think Dendro has the potential to complete gameplay for all builds. Especially light spenders, f2p players
There's more to the bloom reaction in the teaser. When razor interacted with the bloom little pod thing it released a dendro attack that targeted the enemy.
The “01” numeration near the title generically refers to eventual Sumeru teasers, not Dendro. Just a little note.
Anyway, I don’t think that Dendro will be game-changing, nor “saving” mid units. Probably it’s going to be more relevant in puzzles, interactions, materials gathering, or at most for fighting specific enemies. I think of Dendro more like Geo or Anemo, a sort of additive catalyst instead of a raw transformative reaction. I mean, weak by itself +1 element, but more relevant for adding a third layer to existing reactions. That would be interesting and at the same time balanced. They can’t nerf half of the pack..
The seven elements might be the elements that celestia hands out to mortals, meaning, if ever the traveller gets their original power back, we can except a new power. Do note the traveller isnt from teyvat, so their powers arent restricted by the laws of nature of teyvat
all im excited for is seeing dendro slimes finally in abyss lol
they never been there at least i don't remember them ever been in abyss since 1.0
There's a big part we didn't see, in the clip with them showing off electro+ dendro using keqing, her slash from her skill was not just 1 but 3 slashes after the reaction, which means her damage was 3x-ed
I dont know if its obvious but you can see what happens when dendro and hydro interact.
As well as when dendro x hydro x electro interact.
polinize = aneme + dentro. create a dense dendro aura that causes x for x seconds.
I might be chugging some copium rn, but what if dendro part 2 comes when the dessert releases, i mean anemo ,cryo and geo are all present in dessert regions, desserts have alot of wind and sand, and at night time, desserts reach freezings temperatures, so what if you have to use different elements to explore the different biomes of sumeru?
i hope there is a reaction with cryo, but im really exited to build the traveler for the first time
There's been talks of Dendro not reacting with Cryo could actually be a buff to melt since it can react with burning and not completely take away the pyro so you can essentially keep melting
For bloom, they do show a small spore (like a mushroom spore) that falls on the ground after Hydro and Dendro reaction. It is in green color, indicating it will do Dendro damage after exploding. Maybe the strength of this reaction is based on HP for hydro and EM for Dendro.
Catalyze shows a green lightening effect lingering on the enemy, indicates higher electro damage if enemy already has Dendro on them (similar to overload for Pyro).
Way before the leaks i did speculate that Dendro would have not reacted much, something along the lines of Geo. Guess what? And boi i will play without music, is just nerve wracking. Not looking forward for 3.0. Plus…. poor traveller recycling geo+electro animations.
I think dendro is in a fine place as it is, anemo and geo already have their own thing and it not reacting with cryo is actually a good thing since it might not interfere with freeze
And it might be a buff to melt, I wanted Thoma to be a pyro XQ so I could easily reverse melt and because I'm tired of Xiangling being the only off field pyro applier but that fell thru so now with burning the pyro auro stays on the enemy for longer so reverse melting can occur more often and its easier to do so
I think these elemental reactions are all we are getting. I think the other teaser will cover other stuff we are doing in Sumera. I do like the ideas
of adding new reactions for the other elements. Anemo and geo would need new reactions the most.
🖤
Swirling hydro then applying dendro = homing missiles
Outside the actual teaser it was so funny to see different Genshin YouTubers reacting to it. Some being very vocal with the oohs and aahs, or giving a running commentary, maybe dissecting everything on the go. Some playing the teaser in slomo, some jumping on timeline and rewatching pieces or stopping all the time.
And then there’s Walrus who patiently and quietly watches the whole thing from star to finish before saying anything 🙂
I am just worried about the drop mechanic and what that means I hope it’s less complex and more intuitive than what it seems
If reactions heal then healers got a HUGE nerf. You could run a team without a healer but if you do the right reaction you can still heal.
Would be pretty cool for team building thouh
The leakers won
Dang. Pyro’s eating well.
Sad that Geo is left out again. It would be great if it created a temporary Geo structure that would pulse, kind of like the bloom pops out a “flower.”
