  1. 1. If they don't bait people to spend on constellations, how are they ever going to make money and fund development? So many people are playing Genshin F2P. While other potential business models exist, the good thing about the current system is the game is mostly balanced around C0R0 characters. Signatures and constellations are a luxuries in what is an incredibly easy gacha game, not requirements.

    2. Your whole point about needing to pull future characters with constellations to compete with old characters who have constellations is true, but you don't mention the fact that having a vertically invested character from a previous region means you don't need to pull future characters anywhere near as often. So what if a C0 Mualani isn't as strong as a C6 Arlecchino? Just demolish everything with Arle until you save enough for a character that can surpass her.

There's no "problem" in Genshin right now with constellations and 5* weapons. You are just susceptible to being tempted to pull/spend on unnecessary upgrades.

  2. Needing to pull constellations and weapons on new DPS characters to match the strength of old DPS characters with their own weapons and constellations is a good thing. If C0R0 Mualani was anywhere near as strong as C3R1 Arle the game would have a HUGE powercreep problem.

As for sig weapons being versatile or not, that's kind of a case by case basis. Xilonen just came out and her weapon is good on all sword supports. Chiori's weapon who was on the same banner and is also for a recent character is a strong and versatile weapon that is good on most sword DPS characters. So it's not like they stopped doing versatile weapons, although you could maybe argue they are less common nowadays.

I do agree however that locking comfort and QoL behind constellations really sucks, but sadly it's not a new thing (see Hu Tao C1)

  3. I don't have problem with the niche for specific weapon type is that I never switch weapon between my characters if not for Fevonous for generalised support characters.

For eg. Freedom Sworn is good for General support sword users, but Kazuha forever hold his weapon even if I don't use him.

  4. Sadly i think genshin predatory practice will get worse to compensate on banner changes. Also i think hoyo testing the water on hsr and it turn out hoyofanbase dont mind powercreep and signature weapon being must pull since i rarely see hsr players call it out.

  5. i actually prefer this vertical powercreep over lateral power creep… why? it makes your favorite characters last longer in the meta and they are not easily power crept. meaning you can forego pulling for new units to clear content but instead keep investing in your current team since they are able to keep up with the new content with vertical investment… this is way better than what HSR is doing with their stupidly insane powercreeping system where a character you pull literally becomes irrelevant after 1 or 2 patches.

  6. I think having a similar level of investment for characters to compete is a sign of good balance. The issues start when New Character A is significantly stronger at C1 than Old Character B. Bye-bye investment.

    P. S. I find the new 5-star weapons boring. They take away all build agency. I almost prefer 4-star weapons because I feel like I'm making a decision on what I think suits the character best.

  7. I would agree with you if not for the fact that all the current content can be cleared by C0R0 characters.
Furthermore, I think having older characters with high vertical investment has significantly decreased my FOMO with new character releases. I don't feel pressured to pull for every new character that powercreeps an old one I've got, because some of those old characters are a level of investment where they already delete everything. That's why I feel comfortable saving for Mavuika and not blowing all my primos on the shiniest new C0 DPS every patch.

  8. The Thing is what makes the game bacome Predatory or not is the End game content , we have a "pay to win" terms because the end game content require a ton of money to finish on other game. as long as f2p able to full star its not a predatory yet imo😂

  9. With weapons costing almost as much as a constellation, I do think they should be worth it. But at the same time, I am not a fan of overly specialized weapons, nor how this makes you feel that a character isn't complete without their weapon.

Constellation-wise, I think it is a consequence of Genshin's banner system. The only way to get Nahida is to pull on Nahida's banner, so we don't get constellations over time like you would in other games. I do think that C1s (the QoL + some power constellation) can be problematic, when they purposely create or leave an issue in a character's kit, so they can sell us the solution.

But yeah, it definitely does make me less inclined to pull on a character. As an older player, I'd rather have a C2 with weapon one than four c0s. I already have a variety of characters, and there's very little content in which my investment in those matters.

  10. One other big negative impact it has, is what it means for the content. The Sumeru event we just had, for example, had stuff dying so fast for me I could barely land any melee hits before the mobs died. And that was for the highest hp enemies in that. The low hp ones I basically couldn't melee at all. Outside of the Abyss and local legends, Genshin content has pretty much always been trivial for a mature account, but now, with these constellations and weapons factored in…

  11. The game itself is becoming a problem with how poorly it is managed. The only thing consistently good are world design and music. The rest is… I am happy there are alternatives now, and Genshin is not the only big title.

  12. Weapons in genshin are becoming a problem, meanwhile in HSR, light cones for ages have been giving more buffs than most 4* characters. What genshin does at this point, is making weapons more character specific. Considering constellations, they always been an issue, where quality of life been locked somewhere at C2, for most 4* been locked only at c6.

  13. I don't necessarily disagree what you said, nut I think the issue is being exaggerated a bit. Genshin is an extremely casual game. Even if you don't pull for these signature weapons or constellations, you'll still be able to clear 905 of the game's content. And the rest are those very hard high difficulty event battle events (like the one going on right now) which doesn't give any significant reward anyway. Plus with the new reduced fate system for the weapon banners and the capturing radiance on the character banners means getting these weapons and a few constellations are now much easier. So, not really a big deal.

  14. At the end of the day I just don't think it matters very much, even if the increase from signature 5 star weapon is getting higher the only difference it make is you clearing 10-20s faster comparing to alternative options, the same go for 5 star constellation.

Is only when you stacks multiple 5* cons + their 5* weapon that there is a huge noticeable difference, which for f2p or low spender you just shouldn't aim for anyways, outside of getting it for your favorite.

To me personally, getting multiple constellation and signature weapons just feels like pay to lose. I used to clear abyss in 2-3 minutes, now with 5* cons and weapon I just destroy everything in seconds with no challenge, then left with nothing to do. Just paying money to not play the game.

  15. I'd say Kinich's constellations are fair. His combat gameplay sucks in everything but a slight amount of novelty (stuck in level geometry, bump into enemies, catching damage in the face left and right, and Burning is pretty much mandatory), and Ajaw is incredibly annoying. On top of that, for explorations purposes his skill is only great in Natlan, and even there Mualani and Xilonen are more comfortable to use in general. And let's not forget the bloody useless midair attack that only mess up the landing since you always forget that he have it in his kit. So, having a massive damage buff in constellations is at least some form of apology for this mess. XD

    Ye, I regret pulling him.

  16. You're saying that those very good investment options kinda "force" players to pull for new characters signatures and cons only to keep up with older already invested characters, but there's also another option : you might just not pull for the new character at all, knowing they won't reach ur best characters level unless you invest into a C2 and a signature.
That's kind of what I've been doing, and I think it's also really bad for the game.

This system doesn't lead me to pull more (as genshin would like it) but instead to pull less, or to consolidate older characters even more.

  17. But the greedier the better right? Genshin shills are always SO proud when Genshin outsells other games and feel so happy. Why the long face? At least it outsells Wuthering waves, right, a dead game? You should be happy and proud the game treats you like just a money bag.

  18. What is the solution, tho? Powercreep by releasing characters C0 as strong as you Arle C3? Powercreep weapons but making them more versatile (so making Homa more obsolete)? I dunno how they could fix that, honestly.

Also, this look more like a problem to those that like big numbers, and Genshin, for those people, is about just getting the biggest of big number (that's why Bennett is so popular). If Hoyo tried to fix this issue, I bet those people would just complain that the game is "not the same anymore".

  19. Everything you've said in this video is very true. But it's at odds with how you present your character guides. Your character guides consistently hype weapons and constellations; hence this video comes off somewhat hypocritical.

I hope your videos going forward will approach constellations/weps more critically and with less hype.

  20. Is it though?. Cmon its almost 1500 days now and og 4 stars are still clearing content..
Power creep exist but the way the game is designed almost negates that..
    Elemental reactions..

Wuwa for example has power creeping example jinhsi and jiyan😂..

  21. Incredibly evident. For example, Xilonen is only rated so high because of her c2. Without it, she shreds and heals. And that’s it. Those two things alone, don’t warrant it being meta. But with c2, it does and that’s a problem.

  22. That’s why I just pull for older weapons universally good enough, Arlecchino PJWS, Clorinde mistsplitter, Furina key/misugiri are for example so close to their signature (except drip).
Thank you for the video and welcome back

  23. Not really, genshin is most tame gacha game than other game that asked u to pay more money when u are already got one copy of them.

If u protest that we need constellation and weapon, just be honest, it's because of pride right? U felt jealous when other has better constellation than you so u can't put them on
    Flexing profile. 😂

Because i saw other content creator to do abyss with their b4 character with b4 weapon as well ofcourse some guide from them. It's like called everyone with title "skill issues". The most challenging one is only that open world monster in natlan, and fountaine also that theatre that needs u to get a lot character. If open world monster, just be friend with ur whale friend and everything will be fine. I didn't need to do a lot of work so, others will. So my point is, enjoy the game. Being f2p is definitely hard especially when u are having jealousy and high pride for your ego. Also it's not impossible when u save and committed to one character and c6 them. U can see other people play genshin without wish in any banner for more than 1 years. for reminding you that u are saving for a character that u loved most

  24. watching the video at the start had me thinking ‘’this is such a great topic/issue in the current game’’ then at the middle till the end. ‘’Oh! Genshin is only pvm and even low cons full built 4star characters with 4 star weapons can even clear abyss 12’’ then again, shouldve have not wasted my time with this. Lol. Genshin will always be pvm and nothing to compete for

  25. i started playing path to nowhere where the "weapons" are an unlockable feature when max leveling characters. the game is so f2p friendly that when i come back to genshin/hsr i can't help but sigh. genshin is a game in which the content is not exceedingly difficult however there really is that fomo aspect. then there's hsr where lightcones can make such an insane difference and the content can be difficult without the right characters and builds. i've had a great deal of fun playing genshin. it just sucks i enjoy collecting and i spend to get c0r1 when now i wish i hadn't spent any money to begin with because i can't get myself to stop
