Ad astra abyssosque = To the stars and the abyss (according to some sites) The Fatui want to get to the "old world" which is probably past the Abyss. Personal theory is that the cryo archon is trying to save everyone by getting them out of Teyvat into the "old world" instead of only the people chosen by Celestia.
Tbh I don't care if they corrupt or not as long as they don't harm me and keep supplying me with primos,mora,and adventure exp

I was just wanna post this: I hate the academia
Theorytime:
The whole world is on a 500Y loop. The travellers have 2 routes: 1. being the boss of the abyssal order, 2. being an adventuerer. BOTH travellers take BOTH routes. If you start with lumine, you take the route of the traveler first. After you finally meet your sibling, a second calamity happens and both of you will get sent backwards in time. You as the traveller decide to "save" your sibling which causes you to become the boss of the abyssal order (to fight for Khaenriah and preventing the catastrophic future from ever happening, but because all that is part of the loop, we already know this plan must fail if noone intervenes "from the outside") while your sibling becomes the traveller. This loop spans from the destruction of Khaenriah to the calamity that will occur several hundred years later, it connects the end to the beginning. It propably also runs for some time now.
People that are much older than the loop know of this (venti hinted a few things, Zhongli propably knows everything and he even said that he wont tell us because we must complete our journey first), the current dendro archon propably also knows of this because of her (almost) unlimited knowledge even if she is born inside the loop.
Expand this as you see fit. In my head, this is reality until I get proven wrong 😀
Did the Sumeru questline motivated me here? Not at all, I already had this theory a year ago, but it did motivate me to post the theory 🙂

I also belive that Columbina is the mastermind behind the Adventurer's Guild. After the new Sumeru quest it's almost a given that Katherine was made by Columbina.
Interesting theory, but then I would gladly ask you to explain: if the Guild is colluding with the Fatui, why are there Guild missions of attacking Fatui agents, protecting Monoliths from the Fatui or stealing stuff from Fatui camps? Could it be explained as "character strength measuring missions" or "inner cleanup" by the Fatui?

when i first started playing and didn’t know anything about other regions besides Mondstadt and i thought they originated from Mondtadt and just liked to go on adventures lol. but i cannot believe nahida dropped a bomb shell that Katheryne is actually a robot from Snezhaya.

Katheryne is a sneznayan puppet. Unlike the mechanical crab in Tighnari's story quest, Katheryne is considered as 'just a puppet' by Nahida while the mechanical crab is considered to be a "life form' in its own right by Tighnari. I'm mentioning this because I feel like this further supports the theory that Katheryne is being controlled by someone rather than having her own will and that someone, I believe, is Sandrone as well. The one thing that'd probably act against this is why Katheryne seemed not to remember anything once Nahida left her body. I'd say one solution to this is that Nahida simply blocked her systems. Another problem is how Nahida views machinations and puppets and whether or not she considers them as "people" because of her act of possessing Katheryne's body under the assumption that she has her own sense of free will. These are just speculation, though…
So if Kateryna is being used by Fatuya, can we assume that the entire level system of our character (the Traveler) is nothing more than a system of rating our skills that Fatuya is using to fight us in the future.

If I remember correctly the Adventures Guild is as old as the Archon wars. We sort of know this because Leonard was climbing the ice cap mountains of Monstadt before Venti took them off. The Katheryne's I think might be connected to the "world tree" she has the symbol of the tree on her upper back below the keyhole that is different than the regions of Sumeru (so pre Sumeru City).
I'd be willing to bet that the Adventurer's Guild, and Kathryne for that matter, were created by Alice a LONG time ago. And it's been keeping Alice informed about the going's on all across Teyvat all this time.
I like your idea of Columbina having something to do with the adventures guild, her being connected to the Adventures guild could be a reason why she is so high ranked in the fatui. We know from childes voice line about her that he doesn't know why she ranked 3rd but harbingers are ranked based on how much they are an asset to the fatui so her having a connection to the adventures guild and its information network may help explain that.
I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet, but Katheryn has idle lines that say "Error" and "Rebooting", plus she has a keyhole on the back of her neck, which is why I theorise that she is a puppet of sorts created by Sandrone

I honestly disagree that the Fatui work with the adventurers guild. The daily commissions are posted by the guild. So commissions are that u need to kill fatui agents. But then again the fatui are known for there expendable agents.
Imagine the eventuality that when we get to Schenznaya, we’d be potentially interacting with the Fatui the same way we would the Knights of Favonius in Mondstat, the Qixing in Liyue, the Tri-Commission in Inazuma, and the Akademiya in Sumeru.
