  2. What a shame Yelan is this powerful yet the game has nothing that can challenge her or any other character in a way. At the end of the day, people are freaking out for no reason at all. OMG Yelan can kill hilichurls faster than the Riden Shogun, I MUST HAVE HER. Get your head out of your ass people, please.

    I really don't get the power creep talk when in reality even the Traveller can beat everything in the game.

  3. New character will be always "better" than existing ones.
    DPS will do more damage, having less downside or having more sustainability.
    Supports will be more useful for the type of content.

    If you don't accept it you can just stop pulling for new characters and go for reruns, but keep in mind they will be less useful for the content.

    Pull for the fun, let's the leviathans have more fun!

  5. I think the real test will be how/if they nerf her through enemies. If at some point they release an enemy that chocked through invulnerabilities (like they absorb hydro if hit by too much hydro), then she becomes temporarily useless against that enemy.

    Just like Venti was nerfed by the enemies that cannot be picked up by his Ult.

  6. I'm curious if yelan could work in a Kazuha, Yelan, Mona, Cryo party with the omen extension and kazuha buff, not good for everything obviously but it would stack some crazy dmg to Yelan if it works.

  7. I have her C0 and she did such a 180 on my account. I thinks he’s the first character with low investment that preforms so well that I had to get her build amazingly. Like not even my Raiden is getting this much love and I love her to death lol. I was also SUPER lucky to snatch her weapon only on a 10poll during the last week of her banner rerun. And I never go to the weapon banner I literally love her to heck now ✋ I think she might become the most played character in my account.
    I pull on 5* at least one copy but on her rerun I’m getting her cons

I think people is overhyping her to much after that video, while it's true that C6 is stronger than any other character, it's doesn't matter because for the average player it is still more convenient and easier to go for any other DPS unit with good damage output at C0 than aiming for a C6 Yelan.

  13. I knew she dealt crazy damage after seeing Tectone’s vid of his C6 Yelan, and his Yelan wasn’t even close to IWTL Gaming’s Triple-Crowned Mega-Ultra-Powerful Yelan. I mean, I’m not surprised since I have her as my main DPS on one of my teams despite being at C0. It still freaking surprises me that she is still considered underrated by the community.

  15. Yelan C6 R5 does powercreep other C6 R5 characters, but the discussion is irrelevant to 99% of the player base because they will never be able to C6 R5 her. As I said before, Hoyoverse has a benchmark that any 5 star release should be able to fully clear the abyss with 36 stars with a proper team and proper investment, at C0. Beyond that, the subsequent constellations make this job easier to do but absolutely unnecessary. I would argue even the signature weapon fits into the same role, easier to help fully clear but not necessary. They intentionally designed their new 5 stars this way to make each released unit be strong enough while still avoiding powercreep at C0. They really don't care how strong a character is at C6, they certainly will not design content to match the strength of a C6 character since they haven't done so already.
    I am glad to know that they chose to balance their game around C0 units, that is the right decision to preserve the longevity of this game.

  16. The game will never become difficult enough for C6 to be required. Constellations as a whole are just whale bait for people who want more power for their characters. They don’t necessarily need that power anywhere in the game.

  19. I think the main thing with yelan is she is tuned to be pre-buffed, since most buffs (ATK buffs) are not compatible with her. So as a solo unit, she looks better than she is.

    That being said, even at C1 (got lucky with back to back) with favonious bow, she truly feels excellent and one of the most powerful units at a long time.

  20. I love Yelan…and yes, I whaled for C6 and her R5 bow. She uses her bow without the need to aim, and close-in she switches to melee moves. My group has Yelan, Shogun, Ayaka, and either Xhongli or Diona. Look, I am not a good player. My hands are arthritic and combos are hard for me. This team kicks butt. And I paid thru the nose for it….not complaining, just I wish they would sell resin in the shop. Limited playtime makes me crazy.

    Why did Hoyo do this? Maybe to make us whales flock in while the flocking is good. The future of gacha is, honestly, not looking great in Europe and I really think the US and Canada will start building restrictions. My sincerest hope is that, eventually, Hoyo will release a single-purchase version and just sell add-on characters, weapons, etc.

  22. As much as C6 Yelan is broken. Remember just a few people who have those cons.

    Whale territory differs from F2P & Low Spender territory. You might be surprised that Klee at C6 is better than Xiangling C6. But when Klee is still C0. Xiangling definitely beats her.

    So don't take C6 5 star characters as references to your own account. Just see IWTL's video as the max potential of a character.

    Even Yae that some people credits her as dysfunctional. When at C6, Yae Hypercarry can be on par with Raiden Hypercarry

    Me remembering both the doomposters and powercreep demanders a short while ago, and only caring about the one true advantage that matters to me: finally an adult genderbent XQ. Great designed character, 11/10 recommend. 👀💦💦💦

  26. I'm a Welkin moon spender; my only 5* with constellations is Raiden C2, and I can say I hope Hoyoverse makes Sumeru enemies much more difficult.

    I can already breeze through everything even without Raiden C2, and it's getting really boring. If you're not at that point, trust me, you'll get there, and then you'll be complaining about low difficulty and regretting not speaking out earlier.

    Like, I actually think constellation powercreep is a good thing because it means whales will complain about low difficulty level and then Mihoyo might actually start making actual challenging and exciting content. I no longer want constellations because it would mean making the game completely stale.

    For one, I want enemies to be more aggressive. Right now, if there's any enemies I don't kill instantly, those enemies just don't attack often enough (like the khaenriah knights in the chasm).

    I did get yelan I don't have any interest in spending so much for her constellations but by far she has become an extremely good asset to my team's. I try other teams and feel at a disadvantage when she is not in my party. I think imma crown her as well once I get around to it that's how much I enjoy her playstyle

  28. I love Yelan!!!
    No she doesn't have a true healing ability, but using her BIS weapon Aqua:
    R1:HP is increased by 16%. When there are opponents nearby, the DMG dealt by the wielder of this weapon is increased by 20%. This will take effect whether the character is on-field or not.
    (R5 : 32% / 40%).
    My Yelan has 46K HP, unfortunately I stayed at C0, you bet I'm going for C6 next time around.
    Lets hope shes the next Childe, & not Kazuha, I don't want to wait ao long for her re-run. 😅✌🏽✌🏽

  30. As a c6 yelan owner. I knew this from the leaks. (I knew she was going to be a self sustaining dps at c6) I did not imagine her damage scaling to be this insane. I thought she would be on par with Raiden Shogan, but she just blew my Raiden out the water! Raiden is still a beast though.

  31. at this point where literally any 5 star built for damage deletes content at c6, Yelan is an “upgrade” and not “powercreep” if you ask me, because even if a whale realises that their c6 (insert 5 star) has been beaten by another c6 (insert another 5 star), they would spend money to get that unit anyway

  33. There isn’t any competition out there to actually prove your account to everyone, so I don’t see why people are trying to speed up the game when obviously most players only play it for maybe 1 hour at the most. If not maybe even 30 mins.

  38. Honestly, I'd argue she is somewhat broken even at C0. She does too many things too well without any downside. Her hydro laser has amazing homing and almost never misses, and already does more damage than XQ. Bard shot has bigger AOE than Ganyu's charge shot and can be used instantly when available (meaning don't really need a shield). Her E skill has good CC, good energy regen, also give back stamina. She is just way too self sufficient.

  42. Am I the only one that doesn’t see the hype? Like at all? Honestly having to spend so much money to c6 a character…is it really worth it in the end? Everyone is hyping up Yelan at c6 but what about c0? Her at c0 isn’t all that. It’s good but not game breaking. At this point any character will look good at c6. Obviously bc it’s c6.

    I get Raiden diluc Mona diluc qiqi ayaka. And my average is 75

    I hate genshin

  45. I think this was inevitable considering she was clearly designed to be an upgrade to xingqiu, who was already tier 0. I imagine this won't happen again until they make a 5* bennett or xiangling
