  3. As someone whose favorite game is Breath of the Wild, I was excited to try out Genshin, but man, did I NOT LIKE IT. Controls sucked and could not be changed. The voice acting and writing was atrocious and annoying. Gotcha stuff. And on top of that, it just did not feel like Breath of the Wild. Extremely overrated.

  10. You should play it!! You don't have to rush it the game still has 5 regions to go and the microtransactions aren't really a problem. I'm F2P and done perfectly fine with the game.

  12. As an AR50 (the in game level), I can say that it is a game that you have a choice on rushing to catch up until more story is released, or take your time to take it all in a steady pace. It is a grindy kind of game, where whatever characters you have you have to level them up and get materials and equipment to have them not get one shot and stuff. I would love to see you try this game. If you do end up starting the game, I recommend PC so you can transfer your save file to your phone, (yes it's on ps4/ps5 but you know sony and their cross save problem) and another reason is that it doesn't run that great on ps4

  13. I'll try to answer a lotta questions cuz I have played the game a lot!

    The game is kind of like an mmo, but not really – you can play with other people but that requires addin gas a friend/inviting and all that, you won't see people running around in the world.

    You can play this game without spending any money, however the characters are behind paywalls and rng ones at that – it's a gacha game basically. There are 4star and 5 star characters and you can't play them unless you get lucky with rng drops. You can earn these drops without paying money, but it's obviously a lot slower.

    Everyone has a paraglider in the form of wings!

    The game is a pretty good experience early on, later on it just kind of gets grindy. You can also pick between a male or female, they look pretty much the same just a nice option!

    You have a party of 4 and you generally want complimenting elements and kits, each element interracts with other elements different and some combinations are better than others

  15. This game has copied every core mechanic it has, then tacked on some tacky kawaii waifus and a gacha system for those who havent played gachas to get sucked into. Almost nothing to do in the game other than go around collecting chests. The story is extremely lacking in this as you can imagine from just hearing the voice acting and seeing the characters that they are soulless anime waifus. The story is some generic 'you are a god/wee boy/girl come from another planet and you are magically getting all these special powerzzz'. Its all just to sell more characters, thats why you mainly just see new characters getting pumped out.
    Feel bad for deebee he really looks like hes suffering through these..

  16. The game has two types of quests, the main quests (story), and the side quests (the rest). You can choose what to want to do next, the story is still under development btw, they are gradually adding more stuff to it.

  17. About Genshin Impact:

    You get a big world, which gets expansions from time to time.
    You can explore at your own paste. There are story missions, but once they are done, the game becomes grinding and waiting for more content. Updates usually drop every 6 to 8 weeks. Updates often just include an event and new characters however. Events are mostly cool tho, and also go into the lore of the game.
    You get 4 party members via the story, and can unlock more via the Gacha System.
    A party consists of 4 people. Each character has a set element. (Except for the main char, he can switch his element at certain places)
    You have a skill and ultimate, that do stuff with the element of the chat.
    Combat therefore relies on you comboing different elements together.
    While certain characters are stronger than other, the nature of the PvE style game lets you enjoy the content with every character, no matter their place in tier lists.
    You get a few gacha materials by just playing the game, but if you want to experience every character, you will quickly find yourself paying hundreds of pounds.

    Also, this is Not an MMO. You can visit the worlds of other players, but you will be mostly alone in your world.

  21. There is some content is this game I guarantee, however all of you may point out that this game is free, but the chore for leveling up the characters is real. Everything in this game is limited: you can grind x money in a day, y chests, z exp items. Need some more? Spend money! Or wait for more days just to fulfill the basic needs of leveling up. You can't do what you want, because this game is built around a paywall. And when you reach Adventure Rank 40, everything is scarce, there is nothing to do except do your dailies. This game is a waste of time! Find something elsewhere, the point is: this is still a gacha game, made for people spend money in it.

The various characters you saw without dedicated videos were mostly 4 star characters, easy to get, usually less powerful (Fischl is often regarded as ridiculously powerful for a 4 star), sometimes more appealing than 5 stars and you wish they were more useful. It's a gacha game so of course there are a lot of characters and weapons you'll get almost completely randomly (there is a pity system), don't expect to get the ones you want unless you fork out loads of money, or wear a suit made of four leaf clovers, lucky rabbits feet and horse shoes… which will probably also require loads of money.

    Also the multiplayer is mostly optional, you won't meet another player unless you choose to. You can enter another player's version of the world, with all their resources and mobs to fight or auto match for "domains" (dungeons).

    You can actually have 4 characters on your team. You have to earn EXP on EVERYTHING, INDIVIDUALLY. The level cap is 90. Only about 1/4 of the world is explorable so far. It uses a recharging action point system so you may find your plays restricted at times.

    And it is all very worth it.

  29. Btw, if you think genshin impact is all about cutesy and shit, then be prepared until it gets dark. Mihoyo hits other players with the "oh shit this game is cute. (2 years later) Oh shit this game is dark" with their other games. I really wanna stay until the end cause I believe that mihoyo will bring about a great game in the future.

  31. Oh and spoiler free the story is: two sibling travelers isekai themselves repeatedly until a mystery god stops and strands them. The traveler (that you choose) then sets off in search of the 7 surviving gods of each land to find which one took their sibling.
    Only 2 main chapters are playable now, each corresponding to the story of finding one god, saving their land and gaining a new element, and I'm kind of sick of waiting for the third.

  39. One thing you need to know about Genshin Impact : this is gacha game. Most of the character in the trailer is obtained through Wish. So unless you grind A LOT in this game, and you are super lucky when you draw Wish, you'll be able to get a lot of characters in the trailer. So, good luck, Dee Bee Geek.

  42. I’m really skeptic about this game

    I tried watching it but I couldn’t get into it
    Not sure if it’s the story,the gacha or whatever but I find this game boring to watch
    It’s really not like botw especially combat which is it’s own thing
    Some prefer combat in this and that’s understandable but it’s not like botw where u use your environment in different ways to fight or overcome obstacles
