  2. I kinda hate the writing because the first thing they teach you any English class is to trim the fat. So much of the writing in this game is useless fluff that has nothing to do with the actual plot while a bunch of the actual plot is locked behind events most players can't even access anymore and random info on items, it's so bad, not to mention they write Paimon's obnoxious ass to cut us off with her stupid baby talk like 98% of the time, that thing is ALWAYS talking and usually adding nothing, just sayong the same thing again or something totally unrelated or dumb. They waste so much time on fluff with no significance to anything when the main plot is barely fleshed out in the actual story quests we still have access to.

  3. Imo Ayato story quest was awful, too long, focusing on characters that I have already forgot exist and don't care about, boring stuff overall. Ayato having almost no personality didt help as well. At least I got some primos I guess

  4. The tabasco sauce example is literally what he does with Thoma w.

Agreed i had no clue what the heck was going on until the last 5 mins and I read the whole thing.

  5. Well, I listened to everthing in this quest what Ayato said because his japanese voice actor is one of my most favourite one BUT i have to admit that i feel asleep a little bit and was only staring at the screen. There were too much words XD

  6. Honestly, at the beginning of the quest I thought that the wedding would happen, but that it was orchestrated by some of the clans from Kanjou and Tenryou commissions along with Fatui in an attempt to gather all of the higher-ups of the Tri-Commission in one place in order to execute them all at the same time, leading to betraying clans taking up the control of the Tri-Commission and thus Fatui gainning grasp of Inazuma once again. Ayato would know of the scheme due to Shuumatsuban and would ask us to help him prevent all of that from happening

Instead of we got this crap.

  7. For anyone who doesn't like reading dialogue a bit, since there's very little combat, your gonna absolutely hate this quest

Also this quest is filled with in-game politics, it doesn't seem that confusing at the start but after getting that guy from the Tenryou commission things get pretty confusing. Well guys who wants to talk about genshin politics?

  8. Five mins into the story I was rolling my eyes and thinking, “I DO NOT GIVE A F*CK ABOUT THIS WEDDING!” Point me to some beefy samurai so I can test out my DPS!

That said, it did get Ayato’s personality fleshed out for me, which is really the point of a lot of these story quests. I absolutely hated Raiden Shogun (Ei and the puppet), but their latest archon quest brought me around to her being at least a more relatable terrible ruler and despot.

  9. Yeah, that story quest was marriage and follow your heart 10000x. They force these side quests on us just for us to do something. It's good on other mobile games because you don't run around; you actually get more action out of these side quests, hehehehehe

  10. Genshin writing hits my niche, perfectly, because the way I talk normally is bloated. So I see nothing wrong with this character quest, lol.

Edit: I'd love for a skip dialogue option though. I'd rather have ppl enjoy the game how they want to. This is coming from someone who liked Lantern Rite 1. I even remember the competition between the Poet and the Artist for who could capture the spirit of Lantern Rite better, only for them, or mostly the poet, to get lost in the festivities and realize that Lantern Rite is more about the people and not the symbols they were trying to portray.

  11. I honestly disagree with quite a lot of the negative comments here… I do agree that Ayato's story quest had rooms for improvement, but not for the reasons people keep repeating here. Yes there was a lot of dialogue in Ayato's story quest, but it was a political intrigue/mind games type of story, so it was inevitably gonna be long. I mostly treated it like I was watching an anime movie, and finished it just fine.

About those complaining that the story quest wasn't about Ayato specifically… The same could be said for Yoimiya and Venti as well. In fact, Ayato's story quest is thematically and structurely similar to Venti's: we go around doing random shit with the character in question, help a random NPC, and then find out how the NPC's story mirrored the backstory of the character in question.

I think the main issue with Ayato's story quest, which many people had missed, is the lack of emotional beats. Venti's quest was also filled with random fluff–we went around spying on kids through a monocole, and even had to steal a wooden sword and shield from Hilichurls. But whenever I talk to people about Venti's story quest, all they remember are the last two scenes, the one with Stanley and Venti's backstory animation. Many of them seem to have forgotten that 70% of the quest was random fluff as well.

Ayato's story quest had most of its emotional beats happening off-screen. If we had spent more time with Chisato, found out her worries and lack of confidence, and also got to see Ayato's more emotional side when finding out about her situation, the emotional beats would have been stronger. Maybe even had Thoma appear and comment that the situation felt similar to when the Kamisato clan was in trouble, etc., which would allow us to understand Ayato's emotional motivation for doing all this.

Ayato's monologue about his past could also have been turned into an animation for stronger appeal, buuuut it is not compulsory lol.

Ultimately, his quest was a 7/10 for me. Could have been better, but it does what it needs to and gives us a glimpse into the internal strife in Inazuma, and how Ayato handles it with his intellect.

  12. Although I agree with how the dialogues feel too dragged out, it's necessary to set the more serious and political tone of his quest. I just think a lot of you gamers don't read much books so you think this little bit of dialogue is boring. I'm a voracious reader first and a gamer second, so I like reading the dialogues as long as it is interesting. Thank you to Hoyoverse for actually fleshing out Ayato's character the way he is perceived in the game – the cunning mind of a boy who was made to grow up too fast for the sake of his family.

  13. I actually like Ayato's quest. The dialogue gives me a better idea of Ayato's character. Sure, the traveler gets to fight and gets to win in the end but that's not the point of the character quest. The point is to showcase his personality, apart from his skills, and that needs buildup, story-wise, or it won't make sense or be believable.
