Since many of you enjoyed the Version 1 video I decided to make the same video on Version 2 characters! Today we’ll be discussing if units like Ayaka, Shogun, Itto, Yoimiya, Ayato, etc. are still good.

So regarding my Yun Jin evaluation I zeroed in on her attack speed boosting aspect without giving enough credit to her attack damage boost via her ultimate and I should've at least mentioned that part too. But I stand by the opinion that at the present moment she's just outclassed by a number of other damage augmenting supports with better universal application that even within her own niche there are plenty of other choices you would want to pick before you arrive at her. She definitely has potential to return to form if we have other hp/def scaling normal attackers like @yeguang7095 said but compared to where she was when she first came out to where she is now, like I said in the video: instead of enhancing normal attack damage/speed there are supports who can either just boost total damage (not just for one person but for the entire party) or they themselves can bring the damage.
Technically speaking Yun Jin is niche, but pragmatically speaking her niche is extremely overrideable. She would need to provide offensive bonuses on the level of Shenhe to make players want to consider fielding her when they can field more damage, as opposed to Shenhe where her cryo enhancement is SO big and all encompassing (covers attacks, skills, bursts, etc.) that there's veritable reason to use her over Bennett/Xingqiu/Kazuha/Yelan/Shogun/etc. in regards to supporting. For teams where you could field Yun Jin such as boosting Yoimiya or Ayato damage, you could replace her with anyone else. Point being she does have a niche but doesn't do it good enough, which is why I consider her benched.
Was elecro traveler in the last video, or simply unrated?
Where Aloy???
because of the way yunjin's normal atk boost works, she could actually be really good on normal atk characters who don't necessarily have high base multipliers but can augment their own damage via a basic dmg% buff (think yoimiya/wanderer/wario but instead of their skill boosting the dmg multipliers of their normal attacks it just gives them an elemental dmg boost) and unfortunately none of the normal atk focused characters have that synergy
ironically her buff synergises pretty well with candace's since that one is a bare dmg multiplier so they would feed into each other but neither character is good to begin with
no but seriously why compare Heizou to Sucrose, Kazuha and Venti? Heizou is a DPS and they're supports, wtf manðŸ˜ðŸ˜
also about Ayato, you say you value versatility, and Ayato can function as a sub-dps (i pair him with Ganyu, their bursts do frozen galore), so i think it's a bit unfair to simply put him in okay. His hypercarry team does monstrous amounts of dmgðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Quick question I only play Genshin for abyss cuz Im ar 60 and play for late game content ( I don`t need more champions or constalations and I can 36* abyss already with all of my characters ) but I have some spare primos and I wanted to use them , what should I do :
1. Should I Pull for Ayaka and if I have any primos left maybe Shenhe ?
2. Should I pull for Raiden c2 ? ( I have Raiden at c1 )
3. Who should I pull for if not any of this options ?
Itto in benched hurts my soul. I think to be benched you must be completely irrelevant. Mono geo still with no skill required clear the abyss when there arent element checks. Im a bit of a mono geo simp though. I would also argue the rise of the mono meta is actualy a good thing for Geo. Less elemental checks. Example you can very comfortably run mono geo side 1 of the current cycle
Zhongli's tenacity set and resistance shred actually overtakes pyro resonance in a Hu Tao team by a significant margin
Zhongli's strength imo is that by being geo, you can slot him into any team that needs a shield and he won't interfere with that team's reactions, while additionally providing 20% atk and 20% all res shred
Liked the video, couple things though:
Would zhongli's RES shred not be far better than 25% atk for hu tao?, esp with yelan not scaling off atk at all? and you cant put kazuha in a hu tao team (9:28). Also would ayato not slot into "still pretty good" as he is has the versatility you praised shogun for, while also being a very good hyperbloom driver which is a top tier team? also if yoimiya was never a best option, why does she get "okay" while heziou gets "They were never good"? at least heizou is a 4 star that gets outclassed while yoimiya gets outclassed by xiangling.
again nothing against you, liked the video, these are just my thoughts.
In my case of the mono geo, i already built my mono geo and i dont want to spent too much time building another meta team
Bro forgot Aloy 😂
geo needs to be buffed fr
You forgot Xinyan 😢
how can someone have such poor judgment lmao. this should've stayed in the drafts, bro.
I would say YunJin is niche, not benched. Hear me out, because I got only one word for ya: AYATO. Most of Ayato's damage comes from his elemental skill. As all elemental skills you have cooldowns. And you can only raise his attack and damage so far. BUT- the more attack speed means you can squeeze in 2-3 more attacks (or with my comp even more) meaning way more overall damage. If you've been as lucky (or unlucky) as I to get at least c4 Jean then his hypercarry sunfire team is just godlike- Him, c4 Jean (swirling pyro on enemies for easy vapes, healing and increasing his attack speed) with Bennet who boosts his attack unbelieveably high and YunJin who can add just that tad more of attack speed but also boosting his attacks. If you've never tried it I suggest you do so, but it's not a team everyone can go for since c4 Jean is a must imo
I was gonna say itto gorou yunjin niche but in terms of meta and element i gotta agree with you but they could still be niche ayato could also be niche but its fine on okay too i dont know about others but gonna agree with yelan on top since hydro sub with big dmg heizou well might be niche for anemo main dps but in terms of meta could be bench
I understand heizou is not a great unit. Especially after playing him a lot recently comparing him with some other on field carries. But he is FUN with a capital F. ONE PUUUUNCH!
I’m very conflicted by Heizou’s placement. Heizou canNOT be compared to Anemo supports like Sucrose and Kazuha. He’s 4 Star DPS. Those are supports. Of course he’ll never compare to Xiao and Wanderer damage wise, but he has a satisfying playstyle that has a cohesive kit and consistent damage. I personally have Xiao, but I prefer Heizou over Xiao, mainly because Xiao MIGHT have higher damage ceiling, but Heizou is more consistent in delivering results.
sayu is bad but she part of my most used comp due to exploration/traveling be the thing you do the far most of in game typically. yelan (speed) / Ayaka (water travel) / sayu (distance) / Kazuha (elevation and flying). this team essentially lets me speedrun the game and take the least amount of time traveling. combo from yelan run, to sayu roll, straight back into yelan run. even tho im tired of using this team since release of yelan–the speed at which this team moves cripples me to put anything else on.
Ah the beautiful Octopath Traveler music.
"Everyone who's been playing for a while have sucrose"
Me who has been playing the game since two years but didn't have sucrose but have Kazuha💀
Imo Dendro element have saved alot of chars that were looked down upon when first released.
i dont agree with Heizou tbh; you compared him to other anemo support units which isnt his purpose at all? he's a DPS like Xiao and Wanderer and for what he is, he's fine, you can't compare a decent 4 star DPS to Sayu who's only useful for exploration lmao
say you like raiden way too much without saying you like her:
Yun Jin's buff is actually pretty good for normal attackers, if not the best. I feel like her main issue is that she is Geo but also she doesn't synergize particularly well with other Geo characters. She has way too high ER requirements since in most of the teams that she was designed for she is the only Geo character. So, the more ER she needs the less defense you can give her and thus her buff starts becoming irrelevant. They tried to offset this by giving her a passive that scales with how many different elements you have but unfortunately it is still better to just go for a different unit alltogether
I just noticed he forgot Aloy, although I guess she doesn’t really matter anymore since she’s unattainable now
I'd say Heizou is niche. He doesn't do big numbers with his normal attack, but he deals the quickly. Also, he synergizes well with most of the main supports. Wanderer might be a little stronger but I'd say Heizou is more efficient and fun to use…and doesn't get sniped so easily.
Kokomi being above Ayaka is gonna piss off so many people 💀💀
