In Genshin, characters have multiple levelling systems, each of which can be levelled up separately, which all contribute to overall power. Some are more important than others, and often the relative importance of each can depend on the quirks and role of the character.

By the end of this video, you’ll have a clear mental model of what different aspects of a character exist, which should help you decide what to prioritise or how to avoid wasting your limited resources on things which don’t matter!

  9. Love your guides, they're so well done. Just the artifact part was maybe way too condensed for newbie to absorb in one go. Also you did not mention where various enhancement materials come from but I guess that may be matter of one of future guides?
    From experience, resources are scarce while you're at low level and while you're still in the process of raising your world level. In that phase yes, the best approach is always to concentrate on whatever aspect on your team that will bring you the greatest benefit in combat strength.
    But that changes over time. After you reach AR50 and hit maximum ascension level and maximum level 90 on both characters and weapons, you won't have any higher level to chase and it will be up to you to decide how to spend the extra resin you're now getting. Farming artifact domains is the ultimate resin sink and I believe horrible artifact stat/substat RNG is part of that by design. But there's also option to put it into your other characters, those you have neglected so far but may possibly use one time as the game's meta is constantly shifting.

  12. I am so excited for this series! Thank you saurus! You explain everything so easy to understand. I love this game so much and if it weren't for you, I might have given up on getting into it fully. Do you plan on explaining the quest system at all? It's something I still struggle with. (Watching this I also realize how lucky I was, getting to C6 Yanfei early on. omg :D)

  13. Starting the game late into its release has its pros and cons. Pro: You get guides like these, which definitely makes playing easier. Con: The new area characters (e.g. Inazuma, Sumeru, etc) will take longer to ascend since you need to finish Archon quests.
