  1. This is the Monoceros Caeli, aka The Heavenly Narwhal. Childe accidentally 'spawned' this creature as he descends to the Abyss-like chasm (or rift). Though, it's not clear how did Childe managed to do this, since this creature is Surtalogi's "pet".

  2. I really enjoy your analyses of the Genshin Impact music. When I play the game, I'm always hyper-focused on the battle itself and oftentimes don't really listen all that well to the music so your videos give me the chance to appreciate them properly. Thanks a lot. More power to your channel!

  3. So much of this is so Bloodborne-core, which works amazingly well since the fight has thematic parallels what with classical horror meeting cosmic horror, and that's not mentioning the horror of birth (after all, this otherworldly narwhal feeds on the Primordial Sea, which in Genshin and many origin myths is like amniotic fluid for all life).

I'm LIVING for the way HYV has been leaning more into horror in its story and music.

Also, fun fact: Arlecchino is partly based on Lady Maria, at least design-wise.

  4. i love the way that the second half captures the fear and anxiety that the second stage is supposed to strike into the player- they both fit the different phases beautifully.

  5. I love love LOVE that the music begins when the whale appears with the same theme we hear from Childe's boss music when he's using his Abyss powers, and then when Childe shows up it changes to the Fatui motif.

  7. – Listening this theme, I remembered the trailer for 4.1 patch (especially part with Wriothesley, which I loved it so much). To be honest, I was shocked when I didn't hear anything like that part in 4.1, but now I understand what it supposedly should represent – the upcoming disaster, a narwahl.

  8. In my opinion I have the feeling that EDM in genshin represents alienism, stuff from outside of the world, like the god Powers, the abyss, anomalies and even the narwhal tail is missing some textures, it shows the model geometry like its virtual, it gives me the idea that Teyvat is something like the Matrix, we are just in a simulation made by the "gods" and this stuff from the outside keeps getting in.

  9. 16:46 the way almost everyone had this reaction, having a certain expectation then suddenly something different happens, we dont know how to explain it, but its something wrong that breaks our perception, to the point our brains instead assumes the problem is with the headphones instead

a simple trick but really captures the setting of going against something that doesnt belong to our world
