I just wanted to talk about my feelings on Genshin Impact, as someone who is AR 60, been playing for 3 years.
Most of this was recorded live, but I did do some rerecords because there were more points that I wanted to include.
There’s plenty of things that I didn’t talk about, so if you have any comments to add about the game positive or negative, please leave it down below so we all can just vent about the game.

Genshin players- Add more end game thats harder. Its to easy.
Genshin players after theater- why does it require so much investment that's so bad.
13:41 there changing this, in 5.0 (I belive) we will unlock a new world level at ar 55, giving us new minimum and maximum boss drops, the minimum will be 3, and maximum will be 4.
11:46 Don’t agree. Everyone who had Liyue and Mondstadt unlocked needed to explore Sumeru to get to the world bosses. I imagine it would be horrible to do that as a veteran player, but new players could enjoy the new region while doing it. I also have a 35AR friend who got to AR 47 in a week and has also unlocked Fontaine by now. Some friends returning and they haven’t unlocked Sumeru or Fontaine yet. And it feels like they just started the game, but not in a bad way. Do you remember the time when you started the game and haven’t been so mind restricted as to not let your resin cap and maximize your resources?
16:10 Are you seriously complaining about losing out on 30 mins of meaningless yapping? 😂😂😂 Bro you gotta decide a long quest with a lot of yapping or a short one with only meaningful interactions? What do you want?
Honestly i wish their was atleast a option to skip some of the dialog.. because theres some side quests as well that i rlly want to skip the dialog. And the amount of times i fall off a cliff due to stamina makes me want to cry.
16:33 about the skip button, the reason why we can’t have it (I saw a video of someone who does this for a living) is because of the technical limitations. While the characters just stand there yapping things are downloading in the background and if you would skip it the time to load the next scene would more often then not be longer than watching the scene itself. 😅
I actually relate to resources SOO much because like why do neuvillette have to fight against electro boss get his electro materials so that I have to fight against hydro boss again?? And why half of sumeru needs that mushroom and why do half of fontaine needs that fish to accent??
Also I suppose I could agree with npc stories in SQ. I was disappointed when they added random robot in tignari SQ, but somehow it also affects to faruzan. Why do we learn about npc in al haitham's SQ? I kinda get Emily's SQ, it shows how would characters react if they will get in that situation but still it's much better if it was about that character we care for example I enjoyed Jean and Zhong Lee because there was about characters I care. Even my favorite archon nahida somehow included that random a$$ npc antagonist
12:57 You should do a recap of some points after Natlan is introduced, because some points you mentioned might be changed till then.
in all honesty, almost nothing of this video will even be added to genshin since they only listen to people on BiliBili, the Chinese (?) version of youtube. for example, they fixed Neuvillette's charged attack because everybody was threatening to report Hoyoverse for fraud. nobodies opinions matter unless it's coming from people on BiliBili 🤷
I hate when I’m trying to afk a world quest but ofc there’s a stupid dialogue option that pauses the entire thing that still adds nothing to the quest
what if we start complaining in chinese (by using google translator or whatev) in those feedback survey and act like chinese people?
will they finally start listening to us?
Non voiced World quest are the part that bug me the most. The Golden Slumber / The Dirge of Bilqis not being voiced is a crime. The amount of emotion in those quest is already high, but voices would of made those near Archon quest levels.
Also those big world quest being voice would be nice to actully know how some of the names / words are said. I can barely read English sometimes, how the hell am I gonna know how to say 'Aramuhukunda'.
SKIP BUTTON PLEASE I've quit the game after playing since Nov 2020, I'm tired and so DONE of the quest dialogues and "important" world quests which force you to complete them if you pretend to open up all the map, pick up all the occuli, or even get areas where mats spawn better. But no, you're locked behind this bullshit. I'd use the autoplay and leave it playing as I alt tabbed.
the fact that the gameplay has keqing but isn't genshin gave me a startle back there lol
I play on two accounts and not having a skip option especially for super long quests is so annoying. A small summary as an alternative to all the unnecessary yap would be so nice. Bc as much as I find Paimon as adorable as a little sister, her dialogue often ends up being redundant (especially now that we can FINALLY look at the dialogue like in HsR).
The simple reason to make all these problems is simply because they want you to SPEND YOUR FUCKING MONEY!!!
Speaking of Abyss, just let us skip floors and 9-10/11 and grab rewards.
When I played through hsr to its it entirely I was thinking throughout most of was: why haven't genshin done anything of the qol that hsr have and why aren't they push the archon quest to their limits with the story why aren't they balanced the combat and the story.there's no longer a excuse for these things for a 4 year old on going compare to an game the same company pushing its second y
surprised by the fact that there is no #fuckteppei in the entirety of the video
Well… Done… Sekiro…
Hoyo stated that genshin caters towards a global audience, yet they never listen to global-players’ concerns. They only value Cn-players’ complaints (proven by the zhongli/neuvillette fix), but when it comes to our complaints (one of which is the blatant lack of skin-colour variation, especially in nations based off real-world people of darker complexion) its dismissed because we arent the majority of their sales. But, considering that banners havent even been selling as well as they used to, it would do them well to try and cater toward us for once, even just test the waters with a single character. I think it would actually be quite profitable, but hoyo is playing it way too safe with their colorist east-asian fanbase
I too went f2p for genshin during fontaine. AFTER playing wuthering waves. I can't really go back to spending money on genshin. I don't play zzz or starail. I could care less after being treated like crap in genshin from hoyo. That said, idk how to feel. I think WUWA is just currently better. Not that it doesn't have flaws to but hey is what it is. I'll play genshin as a f2p player but only do archon quests going forwards lmao.
It just frustrates me so much that I have more fun building characters in Star Rail. Like yeah, maybe I have crappy luck on getting relics but it feels FUN and fulfilling seeing how all of my characters are lvl 70/80. (I'm a perfectionist lol)
Despite both having the same amount of stamina/resin/TB power prices(?) for boss farming, Genshin giving a minimum of 2 is honestly criminal, especially at a HIGH AR. How is it that Star Rail gives us 5 boss materials INSTANTLY, and you can even CONVERT it using the synthesizer so you can use the leftover boss mats to build OTHER characters?
Also, I feel like I'm not interested in pulling for any of the Natlan characters (as of now) since their designs do not interest me. Maybe their personality or their kit might change my mind, but for now, going to save all my primos… hopefully.
Yep I feel the same bro once I reach sumaru and played through part 1 I'm just I was yikes I dropped the game because it wasn't fun anymore It became a chore and I just waited for Wuthering waves to come out and I dropped Genshin and I don't think I'll come back
This game is not made for players, but for a company that pumps out money. Take any aspect of the game that you don't like, think for 3 minutes about what benefit it brings to the company and you will find the answer
Playing story based game…"its a yap fest"…yeah if you dont like or CANT read just said it bro. Its embarassing to expose yourself like that. Also you are REALLY burn out from the challenge you doing. Its not the game fault your id10t.
I've stopped playing Genshin perpetually now. I just can't take the long, drawn out, over indulgent, unskippable dialogs anymore. Every time you try to do anything there's just this boring, long and uninteresting dialog from every NPC you encounter. It just sucks the fun out of quests, side activities and events when you have to forcefully spend half an hour just desperately trying to move the dialog forward just so you can play the game. And they knew people are fed up with their horsesht dialogs because they put a skip button in ZZZ.
The world bosses one was literally me, i got Navia and Candace {both i really wanted to use} but i could barely level the up because i was in mondstat. I spent quite a while walking through the desert to get to Fontaine {for whatever reason I didn’t want to use the waypoint and wanted to get to the first statue the normal way???} edit: it was the teleport in Fontaine, near the city and a domain. And Navia’s release
i love exploration in genshin and completing maps but what makes my blood boil is when UNNECESSARY QUESTS ARE STARTED AND UR TELEPORTED TO AN AREA TO SPEAK TO SOME RANDOM NPC- and then these quests accumulate in ur quest log and it just becomes something you dont want to do as u gain more and more of them 🥲
Truly, it feels like hoyo is trying to one up other RPGs instead of trying to impress the customers. There are so many small things that are just QOL that the entire community can agree on and be like "yea I'd love that", while hoyo is like "oh yea wuwa?? Well…well…we're gonna increase the reason cap! Yea! They won't be impressed by you!!!"
Edit: free to play accounts for the win!! I hate people being like "it will do nothing" like no it DOES do something. And turning around and donating to charity for those accounts is awesome imo 👏🏻
1 thing to worth to mention genshin not even giving 70 pulls per patch make me question evn more, imagine playing whole patch not to reach soft pity, while hsr giving more
It's a small win, but recently a leaker revealed that some NPCs that were white in Natlan had their melanin returned! Not to a proper degreem and it's still not playable characters, but it's a small win! So, call me coping but I think if we keep going then we might be able to make a bigger change.
If not, then I can't wait for my culture to be mixed with Shnexnaya seeing the history of Russia and Poland hDFGHGSJHDSFH
you know just don't play the game? oh u cant coz it gets views. move on slave
I second this motion
Words of a king 👏.
I stopped playing the game because every quest is a yapfest I want to get a bit of primos not listen do some dude who lost his cat for 40 minutes
Exactly, I feel like the game isn't even about us it's just about them making more money for making us spend real cash for primos since they don't give us many rewards. Like you said, doing a 1h long quest for 40 Primogems it just doesn't feel like a reward since it's not even close to a wish.
Dendro+cryo = wilt, +cryo= wither
My first thought clicking on this video was "wait what is there to complain about?" But actually you make some seriously good points.
My main gripe is honestly the overly complicated dialouge in quests. They take a paragraph to say stuff that can be said in a sentence. Its long, arduous, takes a lot of time and reading for things I often dont care about.
My worst experience with this was the entire first Jeht quest. I didnt even mean to start that quest, I was doing some exploration or I think I was looking for a different quest. But that quest had DO MUCH GOD DAMN DIALOUGE and literally none of it was interesting. It was you being stopped literally every 30 seconds for that fucking scientist dude to comain about bullshit yet again for about 3 pararaphs. I spent most of the quest spamming spacebar to skip the dialogue fast as possible and didnt bother reading it.
Its that stuff that stops me doing quests. I sort of do the main archon quests, some smaller side quests, and event quests and thats about it. I havent even done many of the character story quests. Ive done the Shoguns, Nilous, and Furinas only I think. Cant be bothered with the others. And yes, Im missing some world bosses because of it.
Ive been watching your content for awhile and you are probably my favorite Genshin cc with your humor, video edits, and overall your commentary (ranging from a genuine take and just being funny)
But its really nice to hear your thoughts, experiences, and takes regarding the state of Genshin. As a Genshin player too, I lean more to lore and design as at first the game caught my attention. Sumeru specifically got me hooked upon reading character stories however, at one point, upon further digging and (thankfully) being on the side of the fandom that's incredibly analytic, creative, and just a wonderful bunch that are passionate with lore and the characters. To be passionate of something is to also be open of its flaws, to also acknowledge it's downsides the same way you preach its upsides.
Thats how it was when Natlan teaser, solidifying and highlighting the incredibly flaws that Hoyo has when it comes creating a fictional area that takes incredibly heavy inspiration from cultures and religions BUT in a insensitive (and disrespectful) way.
This extends to Sumeru too if you compare how Sumeru and Natlan are a hotpot of several existing cultures, religions, and countries into one large singular area and then you see Fontaine, Inazuma, and Liyue.
I genuinely wish people understand that by creating a monolith narrative of several existing cultures and religions, you are trivializing them into a sort of melting pot and that it creates this lense of "they are all the same" which is both harmful and quite wrong. I believe that its not harmful to take inspiration from multiple sources to create a singular region BUT it needs to be done with care. Because many times, misrepresentation leads to playing in harmful stereotypes and creatine a false narrative. This is bad alone from both story and design perspective.
Sumeru, Natlan, and in general the rest of the cast having less diversity in terms of skin tones as well is jarring and feeds into a colorist narrative. Take Sumeru for example, there are bits of microaggression and even to a point casual racism in the dialogue which is brushed off. An example of that would be the World Quest with Jeht and when you gain Liloupar. My issue with this is not just Liloupar but instead how the quest is in general. This isnt just colorism but also this sort of… Odd "narrative punishment" to the Tahit Tribe. It is such an intense resolution that you (traveler) have to resort to killing an entire tribe because they are (as Liloupar, who is constantly spouting slurs and racist remarks to dessert folk- which, btw, it is brushed off and not given any dialogue to say "shut it.") bad.
It rubs me the wrong way because it gives this sort of narrative that racism (or overall prejudice) can ONLY be solved if you (the oppressed) prove that "you are one of the good ones" which is a very watered down resolution considering that Sumeru's issues is more complex and that since it is able to tackle its issues of personal turmoil as a nation; it would be able to tackle the topic of discrimination (especially to characters who are poc and Indigenous) in a way thats not JUST "we're one of the good ones!"
The team is able to write good stories but there are moments where the bar changes drastically, perhaps someone else pitched in the idea of Liloupar, someone pitched in that Paimon should constantly comment on someones tan, someone pitched in this and that. It feels inconsistent in a way how one thing can be handled with care and another is handled with less care.
I believe that, for a team that aims for a global audience, they lack specific people who are well versed via knowledge of the cultures theyre raking inspiration from. That they didnt have someone to go to and ask "is this good? Does it fall into an orientalist lense? Is it playing into hamrful stereotypes?". Theres less care with how much they're jumbling things together. Colorism AND cultural appropriation intersects so much that I worry peope dont realize.
Especially people who come from the countries where the cultures in question are- people saying "the colors dont matter" and "I feel more represented by (insert random character)" but does it? There's a good difference between "Relatability" and "Representation" and people keep mixing the two together. You may relate to a character but wanting a character to look like you is a completely different subject and that subject is what people are talking about regardign Sumeru and Natlan.
And another thing, consider this saying;
"Even if you come from the same soil, if you do not acknowledge and understand what the soil has gone through in its entirety to put you on this earth, you do not have the right to talk for it and its history."
Just because you are from that culture, wear their clothes, eat their food, share their name; if you do not learn and understand what your ancestors have gone through to put you on this Earth, you need to sit down. Your blood is not just your right, it is the knowledge passed down to you by your blood too. Colorism, orientalism, and cultural appropriation are things that happen in the real world and for them to happen in a game too is no different.
A game is a form of art. Art is a form of communication. When you tell lies and a false narrative, it is reasonable for the public to debunk your narratives, your lies, your microaggression, and the greedy foundation you built.
Besides everything, YOU are a god send in general. I enjoyed this video because it is nice to hear your thoughts as both a genshin player and how you feel of its story telling. Of course, opinions are entirely subjective, there are a lot of things that carry weight that forms it as facts. The way you talk about things drom your exprience, to what YOU think may be best/suggesting things that the game could benefit if they tried, and how the game is overall- its just fun to hear.
This kind of thing is a discussion worth having as people who do enjoy the game and want it to take advantage of its potential in its truer form.
So, bravo with the video. Hope you're doing well!! Have a nice day🎉
When you said you felt nothing when they added 200 resin, i 100% agree. I had long stopped doing my resin because im just so burnt out. Nowadays i only use resin if i pull a new character. Get half decent artifacts and call it quits. I dont have the same patience as i once djd to grind a months for 2% crit dmg increase. Hell after i pulled Arlecchino i didnt even farm her artifact set. I just put some old gladiators pieces i had lying around and done.
On the bright side, Genshin is the perfect example of what other games should NOT do. Star Rail learned, Wuwa learned, so it's looking up.
As a F2P that started right after Fontaine began, i have to ssay i was very confused at the beginning, and if it weren't for the youtubers that explained things i would've been so lost. I do have to say, they did planed it well to make the player spend money, already with the banners and the amount of Characters they have now.
What frustrates me the most have to be the Artifacts, i wish we could at least choose which one we want from that domain, because i still don't have any usefull artifacts for Kaeya from that stupid Dragonspine Domain. And its just getting annoying to try and try and never get anything good.
sry im late, i was sleeping when u posted, anyway i think its Day 9 of asking for a Fischl only?
Hangouts too! Maybe I’m biased because I’m not a huge fan of most of the characters that do have hangouts , but rn there’s only one Fontaine hangout? And only 3 from sumeru when almost all the mondstat 4 stars have one??
After playing ZZZ a bit i was wondering, ZZZ has Hollow zero that gives you polychrome and resets every week, HSR has SU that gives jades and resets every week
Why doesn't have a weekly content that gives you primos like their siblings?
What i want is genshin more focus in playable characters background story and not some npc again and again. Like achron questst now is more heavily focus on yapping like Fontaine why waste our time on lyney case and wrio prison. The book in genshin is more unique story. Another i want is genshin need more npc model like they do that on clervie in alre quest that different from another npc. I disappointed on gaming father like bruh
mistah going f2p… i kneel
i have a friend whos really into genshin, but doesnt understand any criticism about the game which frustrates me to hell and back because a lot of the points you bring up are understandable. i like genshins combat but it feels like such a slog compared even to star rail, it feels much less rewarding too like the devs dont respect the players' time at all
if you quit genshin you will always remain in our hearts
Stupid question, but what's the name of the game in the intro?
