Thoma is an upcoming 4-star pyro utility unit with MASSIVE potential given a couple of interesting circumstances, and as such, I felt like analyzing his kit in depth and making comparisons in order to gauge not only his strength as a character, but how and where he falls on the character roster as opposed to other characters like him, such as Zhongli, Bennett, etc. Thoma’s own capabilities are huge, and his potential is surprisingly large, even despite his drawbacks and downsides, so let’s take a look at Thoma and his MASSIVE potential in 2.2 Genshin Impact.

I was going for 2pc crimson and 2pc ToM but change the Crimson to Emblem a few days ago. I need more ER since Favonius Lance ER is quite low and there's not much in my artifacts substats.
I think ToM is still his best set, it gives him 20% Free HP to work with which let's you go ER on his sands, it gives an attack buff equal to NO, and on top of that it gives 30% shield strength to the character with the shield which gets boosted even further by his passive. This is an old set that practically feels tailored to him, even up to the 3 second on the buff window which is exactly how long it takes for your ICD. Which high enough ER Thoma can literally have ToM up permanently. Once you get into his constellations it makes it even better as you get cooldown refunds aswell as a very powerful 15% normal/charge/plunge attack DMG bonus, which is then added on top of the 20% atk increase you're providing.
He does look like he has MASSIVE potential if u know what i mean 👀
apparently he is not very good with childe, his pyro is too slow to keep up with childe's attack. I read this somewhere.

I love your vids but comparing thoma higher percentage to zhongli's and leaving out geo shield 1,5 absorption, easier shield with no condition, and higher base HP is very misleading. Zhongli is still on another level and I can sure you I'm not biased. But please take it as a critic not an offense 🙏
I wanna roll for both him and Hu Tao however I don’t have any polearms that seem like they’d be a good fit for him
He will be great for hu tao especially since I run zhongli and Bennet on my Ganyu team

what about using a two piece milith and two piece shield strength? that way he gets more hp and shield strength if that is what the focus will be
4 nobbles or 2 hp% set and 2 that 35% shield strength
He will be good for hu tao and definitely ganyu later on

I'm building Thoma for both support and damage. Not at the same time mind you but his autos look too good to never see them. Plus pairing him with C6 Bennett can make him do some decent damage

i’m still putting 4 pc crimson witch on him with deathmatch bcos i got a ridiculously good set (75 cr, 170 cd, 170 er) and i don’t have any pyro characters to use it on bcos my bennet uses noblesse and every other pyro is stuck at lvl 20 🙂 thoma has no choice but to be a sub dps whether he likes it or not
