  1. Using twitch or google to measure the popularity of genshin doesn’t seem reasonable. That’s just western interests. It’s rivaling most western ips in JUST western interest.

  2. Star Rail was viewed positively because it came out during an extremely boring Genshin content drought, people welcomed it as they finally had something to do (and also because it's the same devs so there's a guarantee of decent quality and it's not direct competition). I don't think anybody should be worried about this game being a Genshin killer though, so far every game that was called that has vanished from the main stage pretty fast. Some like Blue Protocol died before even releasing.

  3. Man Genshin got "killed" so many different times it's crazy lmfao. ToF, PGR, WW. How is Genshin still alive 🙀

Also cancerous Netease. Any game with their name attached is doomed.

  4. Seriously doubt it.
First of all, too many people are too invested to let Genshin go.
Second, Genshin is so lore heavy, the vast majority of people who stuck around this long will wanna know how it ends.
Third, ALOT of people playing Genshin love the relaxed gaming, no pvp, no score boards no nothing.

I have no doubt this new game will be popular… But it wont kill Genshin.
I think the only ones actually capable of this is miHoYo themselves and as long as they dont fakk up, I dont think its going to happen.

Looking at Fontaine is just more evidence of their quite impressive ability to keep the game feeling fresh and the "brand new experience" feeling alive.

I remember ToF was gonna kill Genshin as well…
We all know how that went down.

  5. The character design is what makes people try it out, no doubt.
But its nit what makes people stick around.
Yea, there is a small subset of thirsty dweebs with no impulse control who will…
But you dont get 60m daily user with a crap game just cuz the charactres look cool.

    Its alot like dating.
"The outside gives the inside a chance".
Being really hot will attract alot of potential partners, but very few will stick around if youre a a crap person.
Only only that one clingy, needy, desperate fakker who is afraid to be alone and is in constant need of validation.

Thats also the type of person stickning to your garbage game cuz the characters are nice.

    Edit:
Yea, dont go to reddit or twitter if youre looking for actual game tips.
Theyre completely infested with delusional, gender identity obsessed, ex-tumblr shippers etc.
Half of then dont even play the game, they just soend their days day dreaming about making game characters gay.

Search Genshin or Star Rail on Youtube.
Yea, there are still some "hottest" ranking teir list videos but like 99% are tutorials, guilds, strstegies, previews, lore, lore theory or lets-plays videos.

As long as you dont go to a forum occupied almost exclusively by degenerate ideologues, the game is actually what most poeple care about.

  6. I just realized that Genshin is the WoW of its own genre(Open world gacha I guess). And what I mean is that, tho it’s a much shorter cycle, Genshin is the game that people are gonna latch onto until a worthy competitor arrives. And nothing is gonna be good enough to kill Genshin when people are so invested with time and money, and the game just keeps getting bigger over time. Genshin will have to start failing slowly on its own, and a new game has to survive long enough to prove its longevity and have more content, before people actually start going to that instead. All mimicking WoW’s situation except the MMO sphere is more expensive and harder to make, so it’s gone on at a slower pace.
