A theory video about the monsters of the Abyss the Order. Using some unexpected clues from all the acts of the We Will Be Reunited quest tree, I’m going show you how the history of Khaenriah’s fall unfolded and why Dainslief hates the Abyss Order so much.
Spoilers Ahead! So Beware!!
source
This video solidifies the distinction between Khaenri'ah and Abyss (not Order) pretty well.
I think the Abyss is literally the dark force.
I love the voice, the music and the narration is great. Im subscribing immediatly !
And after watching the 3.6 livestream I 80% agree with you. Why ??
Because of these lines : "I come from an ancient race, we have existed for a very long time, possibly longer than any record in existence" and "We were victime of the apocalypse… we later became the apocalypse itself"
If it is said by The Iniquitous Baptist then that makes me to believe her and other members are Creatures of the abyss, coming from the abyssal realm and the description of the boss reasured me… BUT thing is, why lie? Why do they have the black star of Khaenri'ha ?
Ahah I love to theorise
Interesting 🤔
This actually makes a lot of sense. I always had a bit of hunch that the Abyss creatures didnt care for Kaenri'ah so this is a nice confirmation for it. I fear tho that hoyo could still pull a 180 out of their asses for no good reason. It would be a really good story point tho for the twins. The Traveler ending the corruption of the sibling and together they defeat the Abyss and shake the Heavenly Principles.
I think the abyss manipulated Lumine's mind… They must have done some thing to her… Even the irminsul registered her… Only those who are from teyvat gets registered in the irminsul… Some things just doesnt make sense yet
Obviously we don’t know for sure but I also got suspicious during Caribert. His admiration felt off. The timing seemed kind of confusing. If he founded the abyss order yet the abyss order is comprised of sibling, heralds, etc if they were khaenrian, why did he erode and potentially break his curse and die? Why wouldn’t he have become like the heralds? If the pure bloods became cursed like Dain and the immigrants were cursed into being hilis then who became these monsters of the abyss? I don’t know if I agree 100% with everything in this video but you definitely brought up a lot of what I’ve been wondering about since caribert came out.
I’ve been saying this for a while; Nice to see someone with the same views. That dainslief Chasm quest subtlety revealed a lot
immortality is not a curse but to ofcourse immorals who live lifes by their drunk behavior and to people who watch them and await their death
So the abyss heralds and lectors aren't people of khaenre'ah but creatures created from the abyss itself?
Very nice analisys and you do such a good job to make it understandable. Will be following for more :).
I think Lumine is corrupted by the abyss crystal.
Half way through the video and I'm already digging this theory lol i really like the way you presented it too definitely subscribing 🤝 keep up with with the amazing work
But what about the heralds or lector’s that we’re able to take on human forms? If they’re not people from khanriah, what are they?
I think this theory has some merit. It is clear that Abyss Mages, Lectors and Heralds aren't effected by the curse. This could be as you proposed (they are actually from the abyss itself). I do think there is still a considerable chance that they are former Khaenri'ahns though.
It could be that what happened to Caribert at the end of the quest was a 'lifting' of the curse of sorts. By reconstructing his person into an abyssal creature (Mage, Herald, Lector). Placing him outside of the laws of Teyvat and 'rewriting' his fate. Hence loom of fate. The Loom of Fate project in the current time period of the game does seem to be an attempt to create a proxy of the Sinner that seemingly 'cured' Caribert. If that is what actually happened to him I could see the Abyss twin trying to make a way to do the same on a grand scale.
Dain could see the creatures of the abyss as not being his people because they are on a physical level, entirely new entities. Becoming someone and something entirely different would logically be a way to remove a curse that was placed on a person at the level of their fate itself. New person. New fate. No more curse. Celestia's battle against and surpression of the abyss makes sense if it can completely undermine Celestia's control over Teyvat.
Personally I think with the information currently in the game it is to soon to tell exactly what the Lectors and the like are exactly but I enjoyed your video and I think the theory does have a lot of merit. Perhaps the new abyss boss next patch will give us some more to work with.
edit; In regards to the cryo lector we met in the Caribert quest, there was that city in the chasm that, according to Dain, was similar in architecture to Khaenri'ah but seemed far older. The lector could have been from there (just based on proximity). The Nail in the Chasm points to a possible precursor to what happened in Khaenri'ah with a similar outcome.
I think that the abyss has a way to undo the curse but it is still suspicious why all the khaenri‘ahs don’t like the abyss and I think that the first and second who came have something to do with this not directly but indirectly
When the "abyss" twin got close to the sinner's gem thats when they were subverted, affected by the sinner and changed path, dainsleif himself says that they changed after that meeting and she told him NONE of what happened in there it was only the traveller who told him of what transpired in there. The abyss order was formed by chlothar but that doesnt mean the heralds formed then as we know the frost herald was guarding the sinner well before. There sounds like there is a way to turn somebody into an abyss herald like enjou from eukanamiya seems to be, in doing so this removes any curse. I think the sinner himself is responsible for the curse and it was some mechanism to strike back at the primordial one (another reason why I still think it's the second who came in the sinner's gem). It was temporarily stopped by the sustainer & the archons at the time of the cataclysm.
This theory is so fun to go into! I will say after watching this I decided to go listen to the Herald and Lector voice lines in battle.
Just as a different theory sparked by yours; I would say that the lectors and heralds are actually Khaenri’ahns that have willingly accepted the abyss, more so the Sinner as their god.
Unlike the hilichurls, who seem to have become “bewildered” and aimless in life. The Lectors and Heralds talk about their allegiance to the abyss.
I theorize: that as the cursed ones accept their fate they ascend to a different rank depending on the devotion to the sinner. The heralds being the warriors that execute the Sinner’s will. They say things like “bow before the abyss” “all life will perish” and more interestingly “abyss, grant me new life”. That could point to the cursed choosing to bow to the abyss/sinner to gain new life and be freed from the side effects of the curse.
The Lectors take on the religious leader aspect for the abyss. The Electro one talking about Truth. The lector also speaks about hope and joy which points to thinking that their goal will bring forth a better new world. They obviously follow and believe the abyss, which in my mind means in turn, that they believe the sinner. Makes sense they would believe the sinner if they once were cursed with a painful affliction that the sinner seems to be able to quell.
The Pyro lector speaks of redemption, as well as a new world that comes from the ashes.
Lastly we know in the presence of the sinner hilichurls and knights seem to be at peace and even bow to it. So I’d assume the sinner is offering salvation in exchange for allegiance.
All these are just my speculation, some more anchored than others but thought I’d share! Your video was super cool!
Random add-on: in 3.6 we can learn more from the “iniquitous baptist” an even higher level in the abyss. And lastly the “rogue hilichurls”; which seem like they’ve learned to evolve outside of the abyss order. Their masks are a little reminiscent of those of the heralds and lectors but don’t have any abyssal designs. Obviously excited!😂
Does this mean someone with Eleazar would have eventually turned into a hilichurl?
if i remember well… the npc in enkanomiya that become the first Pyro abyss lector, doesn't have the same eyes as the people from kaenriha , that's either something developer forgot to add..
Or its just proof alone, that those monsters aren't cursed people.
i would also like to add, that probably the abyss, was summoned by kaenriha to fight the gods, reason why the gods destroyed it and casted a curse upon them to punish them.
while the abyss being an outside force wasn't affected at all, instead they sided with the traveler.
Amazing video!!!
What if they are affected, but they just walk it off? 😛
i feel like the sibling isn't a descender because the abyss wanted to use the irminsul to rewrite history and their memory to turn them into the abyssal prince(ss). back in the day, they were like us, they arrived here during the time leading up to and after the cataclysm, kahnria (can't be bothered to spell it right.) was their mondstadt, they may or may not have been made the ruler or heir but they traveled with dainslief and saw the world, at the end of their journey about the same time as the sneshnaya arc for us the abyss successfully registered them into the irminsul and then rewrote what happened during the cataclysm to make them look like the good guys to the sibling. leading into the events of calibert and the modern-day story.
while I do think Celestia is not to be trusted, the sibling should have worked with the archons after this point to correct what they saw as their flaws, but the abyss convinced them that their only allies were the abyss and that the only just course of action is to burn both Celestia and teyvat to the ground.
10:23 😮
I think the sibling was brainwashed by forbidden knowledge (knowledge of the abyss) and the abyss knew she had faced a god, so they made her princess.
There are those abandoned by Celestia and set upon with the curse of the Abyss.
And those who are Blessed By The Abyss.
hey man just watched this vid, very interesting thoery, but also it was a great video in terms of how you presented your theory and the video editing was well done. Please keep posting new videos I look forward to it 👍👍
Ok I just recently subscribed but I feel like that the “abyssal creatures” can be place into two groups those who were born from abyssal origin and those who BECAME abyssal beings via a curse, forbidden knowledge corruption, or another power originating from the abyss that hoyo is cooking at their HQ. As for how abyssal beings are naturally born I’m gonna take a wild guess and say it could be similar to how elemental life forms are created in Teyvat like maybe dragons? Considering the recent theories about the people of the nation of sinners are vishap-people and the fact that it was a sovereign who brought the “powers of darkness” into the world I think it’s possible that abyssal entities and dragons might be more closely related then we think and if the void(dark)element is some kind of primal element alongside the Omni(light) element then why wouldn’t beings of these natures share some similarities also a few kingdom hearts quotes along with my own personal thoughts might help explain this
“You spend so much time chasing the shadows you forgot about the light that cast them”
“The truth is what you see with your own eyes not what you hear”
“Light and darkness doesn’t always mean good and evil”
“Nothing is either good or bad but thinking that makes it so”
At this point all I have to say is if you know you know but feel free to let me know your opinion.
i think the gods cursed them with immortality in hopes to save them from the death and destruction, the abyss was about to bring. But the gods misjudged the capabilities and capacity of the humans. The power bestowed upon humans as a blessing to save themselves became the curse. The weak humans were overloaded with power which was beyond their capability to handle. The power goes berserk manifesting as a disease which the humans called curse.
The power was bestowed equally upon the humans. The pure blooded khanrians were somewhat better equipped to handle such power. But the mixed bloods and rest of the population couldn't handle the power and suffered dire complications.
Gold or rhinedottir might had been tinkering with alchemy trying to modify the body; to create a body better apt at accepting and handling the power. But the experiments failed or hijacked by abyss creating body to harboring abyss power rather than the divine power creating the monsters of abyss.
The abyss order just might be an organization of such monsters possessing the modified bodies of the humans which are empty husks harboring the will and mind of the abyss.
I think so because the primodial one foght the 7 soverign dragon for the humans and created the 4 shining phanes. I taraformed the world suited for harboring the humans ensuring future prosperity. Its hard to believe that someone so nice turned, evil on his people for whom he fought so hard. Or their might be a reason, a trigger factors for the Primodial one to turn against humans.
Well the Lector in the dream sequence with Chlothar wasn't with the Abyss order. The Traveler says it doesn't look like a member of the Abyss Order. And the game system labels them as – what was it – a Fortune Lector? And Enjou hints that he may be older than the Cataclysm too (when he compares Enkanomiya with human civilizations that had divine envoys) Plus we have Hilichurls created before the Cataclysm from the event in Gurabad and presumably some other incident (three tribes of Hilichurls = three incidents), as well as Ukko from Dragonspine. So, sure, not every single Hilichurl was Khaenri'ahn and not every single Lector is Abyss Order, but when Dainslief first meets the Herald in the defiled Statue story, the Herald remarks that Dainsleif has the same stink of corruption as he himself has, and from Zuran we know when she met Dainsleif near Tunigi Hollow half his body was already corrupted. And obviously we know Caribert used to be a Hilichurl. Also Enjou says in one of his throw-away lines that appear to be truthful, that he was cursed and that's how he became a Lector. While he may not be Khaenri'ahn he did become a Lector by the same way they are supposed to it seems. Plus the archive descriptions of the baptist says it evolved it's extra arms (suggesting it started out as humanoid). Finally in the new region in 3,6 we meet a Lector that apparently used to be a human member of the skeptics called, Klingsor. He's not the only named lector or herald though. So whatever they used to be, they have names now, suggesting people rather than beasts.
