I too hoped for rococo architecture because other than gardens, the french were not really known for Baroque architecture. At first i was disappointed, but then i saw that they were going for the slightly italian vibe, in the Poisson soundtrack and in certain npc and character names and i thought okay⦠maybe.
What i am happy about is that they went for art Nouveau motifs (mainly in glasswork and decor) in a really creative way, they took inspiration the geometric Scottish and Belgian styles. Instead of going classic organic art nouveau.
I am a bit sad though that they didnβt include industrial XIX architecture. With exposed beam structures and beautiful ironwork. Maybe its copium but i hope they include it in another area.
Cant wait to find out that the painting girl salsa or whatev ever has been dead for 500 years π

Theres almost no chests or puzzles in the city, and the mostly blank feel makes me wonder if they intend to actually destroy and flood everything. (Like why put a chest under a bridge when ypur going to perminantly turn the bridge to rubble)

for your take on the city's colours, this might sound obnoxious but i assume you're playing on a lower graphics quality? if you ever get a PC upgrade, everything will look a lot more vibrant, especially with the new Global Illumination feature
its funny to me how Fontaine is the city of justice and laws, cause in mandarin, France is named ζ³ε½, which directly translates to law country. And France is the main inspiration of Fontaine xD I love wordplays
